Those subreddits are so toxic. They shriek “nO PoLiTiCs!!!” if anything positive or even neutral is said about PDJT and the post magically disappears, but it’s complete radio silence when someone spews all kinds of nasty lies about him, and that post gets pushed to the top.

I worked for the Federal Gov in my early twenties and having come from private industry I couldn't believe the incompetence, wastefulness, sense of entitlement and downright laziness that I witnessed. Jobs for life, nearly impossible to get fired.

The last fed office I walked past looked like a grade school classroom. They had crayons and made artwork to hang on their cubicles for the holiday. One was putting holiday window clings up on their windows.
Correct. They have no compassion for anyone but themselves. They can dish it out, but they cannot take it.
During 45, I attended a conference filled with tenured academics and senior civil servants. The subject of the so-called "far right" was discussed at length, as was MAGA. (This was in Ireland, however I have encountered the identical mindset with American academics and civil servants).
Many of these pigs at the trough spoke very condescendingly about unemployed white working-class Americans and their so-called "grievances." In particular I will never forget one young PhD with a Cork accent and how completely obnoxious she was; clearly her livelihood had never been under threat of outsourcing to India or China.
Yes - tenured academics speaking about chronic unemployment as a "grievance," and MAGA as a disease - as though human beings with no money to pay for their lives just need psychotherapy for anger management in order to address the mental illness that is MAGA (Hi, Dr. Bandy Lee).
I don't like to see people lose their jobs, but the hatred most of these people have for ordinary working people, and their sense of moral superiority with regard to us, is the root cause of their current problem - certainly not President Trump. In other words - THEY are the problem.
Had they figured out many years ago what is obvious to all of us here, that they are extremely privileged to be in the position they are in and that the first world - America in particular - is filled with millions of people who, unlike them, live with chronic economic insecurity, they would have a much stronger and more resilient mindset with regard to their current predicament - instead of just "grievances."
My own difficult experience in the cut and thrust of the American workplace under global labor arbitrage in my 20s was a formative life experience that shaped my world view irreversibly. Perhaps this rupture will be character-building for some of them, and through their own "grievances" they will come to understand that they are not better than, or more worthy than, people they previously viewed as their inferiors.

Future hiring should be interesting. The phrase "I didn't hire you because you need a job, I hired you because I need the job done" is going to shock most of them. The ones that can adapt to do a job will be ok. Those that can't, well we might have another homeless epidemic on our hands kek.

My husband is a fed. In his small office of around 20ish employees, only roughly 3 are Democrats. The rest voted for Trump. Most of them were previously contractors and were laid off due to COVID. Then were brought on as fed employees. They were harassed about getting the vaxx or losing their jobs, and all but my husband got the vaxx. Most of them are currently laughing and rejoicing about what is going on and love Trump and everything he's doing, even if it means they'll be out of a job. ❤️
There are some good people on the inside. Also, if someone has hot marketable job skills, they are not worried.
Great people with a great outlook on life. May God bless and protect all of them as they land on their feet in the great new MAGA economy!

A friend of a friend worked on a garbage truck and had an accident. We call him Lefty now..
start I’m 1000% on board with getting rid of all the waste in the government. With this said, I retired about in the middle of 2023 from a small DoD activity. There’s roughly 200 of us. With the exception of one person, we all worked very hard. Management worked hard to find reliable and dependable employees. I know this appears not to be the norm for government workers but not all agencies/activities are slackers. Some employees worked from home since 2020 and we exceeded expectations and goals.
Unfortunately, the slackers hurt the reputation of the whole government workers when most employees do work hard.
I was a contractor. There were hard working gov employees, but then there were whole departments where no one could figure out exactly what they did. There were an excess who refused to do things, like pick up a ringing phone, because it wasn't in their job description. Long lunches and lots of weeks off. Lots.
I get It. I'm glad do say I never saw such waste. I do Realize it’s definitely out there. I’m hoping it doesn’t all change back in for years.
This is how I felt under eight years of Obama and four years under Biden.
