Exactly what I was thinking. In the real world, we work steadily throughout the day. I enjoy it, because I sleep that much better. The fed mooches grow accustomed to an easy, lackadaisical day where there is little to no effort. I don’t feel sorry for them. They’re the ones who chose that lifestyle.
I worked my ass off at a Marine Corps Air Station. There ARE some people who are awesome. Some of those guys I miss so much because I learned so much from them. When I got removed for not taking the vax, I was quite emotional over the fact I wouldn't work with them again.
Make those lazy bastards do something that roughly resembles accountability and work that might possibly produce some approximation to productive results.
They get paid well, those jobs shouldn’t be easy. My cousin worked as a CPA for some of the largest heavy equipment companies in America. The man made close to $500,000 a year doing this job. He was stressed beyond belief. Aged the crap outta him. After years and years, he quit all of it. Went into working for himself in landscaping as he loved working with his hands. Just never could outside of weekend projects. Now he sweats and he’s so much happier. Makes a fraction of his last income. Loves his job. People who make big money, should expect the job to not be a walk in the park. Government workers have had it easy for decades. Many of them. Not all of course. I’ve got a close family member who works for the SS. Nice check. Hopefully they always worked as hard as they say. They will now.
Is this a custom at Musk companies? Curious who he's trying to weed out as it does seem like a good bullshitter would pass through, and some good employees are very humble about their contributions..
This is standard for Musk at his operations. When he took over Twitter, this is one of the first things that he did and it was widely reported on as everyone was hysterical.
This is how you get chopsticks catching rockets. Run a lean operation filled with people who are dedicated, efficient, and competent.
Most tech companies do a process called scrum where everyone does this on a daily basis. Weekly would be incredible, daily it's to much but it's the standard
I had to fill out daily time sheets for years, accounting for ever 15 minute interval. Had to met those billable hours goals. It was brutal until I learned to get fast and efficient and had more breathing room. But you can only do it for so long. After twenty years I literally couldn't do it for one more day. I just quit and moved cross country.
I'm not sure they are gonna do anything with those reports. Many of these people probably never experienced any accountability and it's gonna be evident when they throw a tantrum, refuse to comply and demand to talk to a supervisor/ union rep
It reminds me of a time we had to put in a streamlined accounting system. Well one of the accounts receivable clerks went bananas apologetic that we dared ask her what her tasks were. LSS after much wrangling, dodging and weaving, ( one day she hid in the bathroom for hours lol ) she throws a screaming tantrum, and walks out for good. We never did figure out what she did.
My theory is that there is so much fraud that it’s to target maybe federal workers that don’t even exist? So many people were getting social security, even 150 year olds that I think they were paying fraudulent employees too…another money laundering scheme..they are required to reply by end of Monday…and maybe the ones that don’t they will know where to look for fraud?
I don't think people realize this is a distinct possibility. I had an uncle who worked for the NYC Welfare Dept. LSS, he had guys in his department he paid every week that he literally never saw or ever had new had any communication with. Not a phone call, not an email, nothing. This was 40 years ago. The orders came right from the mayor's office. So what do you do? You keep your mouth shut and cut the checks. Who knows if they existed or if the money was just funneled to a slush fund. In Massachusetts we had a guy who ran for govenor who claimed that 1/3 of all state jobs were no work, no show jobs and he could prove it. He was a smart guy, head of Boston University. So wtf knows.
Anyone who thinks this shit show is a good idea is a moron. I’m 100% on board for drug testing and fire anyone who fails. This last email about “list 5 things you’ve done this last week” looks like a Mickey Mouse show. If you want people to justify their job then do it the proper way. Have the supervisor justify each person that works under them. That starts at first level all the way to the top. I’ve been on the Trump train since 2015 but this shit show it ridiculous. Maybe I’m just mad because my wife is a gov employee and I see how hard her department works and now has to deal with this shit while you all talk about gov employees and how they don’t do anything. I been MAGA from the beginning but listing to you assholes making me rethink it. I’m on board with so much that is going on but the way they are handling this is stupid. I really thought DJT was better business man than this
And before you all start your BS, she works for Dept of Veterans affairs. Directly responsible for veterans getting health care they deserve. They are already short staff and underpaid. Most of them could go to chick-fil-a and make more per hour
Yep. Sure is. Because I don’t post here, social media , or anywhere else. I come here for information. What pissed me off is how people on here talk about federal employees like you do. That gets personal for me because my family is dealing with this directly and some people don’t have a clue what they are talking about when it comes to all this. Simple Task? Seriously? YOU miss the entire point of what the problem here is. Allow me to enlighten you. As a business owner I am responsible for every person that works for me. I have managers that report directly to me and they have people that report directly to them. Each manager should do a report explaining what each employee did the previous week and turn it in to their supervisor. Each manager should know what each employee is doing. What pisses me off is not the report. It’s the complete boneheaded way of going about this entire process. For 2 brilliant men like Elon and Trump, the way they are going about this layoff is about as bad as it could be handled. Sure for you it is great because you want government shrunk and I 100% agree it needs to be, but knowing from the inside and seeing how poorly its being done pisses me off because it makes them look completely incompetent. There are MANY things about this situation that unless you’re a government employee going through this YOU have NO clue what is really happening behind the scenes. I do and it could and should be/been handled so much better. BTW…. Nice link to your little post. Shows how out of sink and narrow minded you are. This is EXACTLY why I don’t post anywhere. Try to make a point and smartass keyboard warriors like yourself want to chime in when they don’t have a clue.
You are very emotional. I get it, your wife could be out of work. But what, exactly, has Trump's layoffs done to make this seem unprofessional?
Do you realize that Trump is proceeding in this matter as allowed by law? If he enacted some private-sector styled scrub of the workforce, they would all be back inside of three months. This is the way it has to be done with admittedly added bombastic flair to weed out the snowflakes.
Yep. I absolutely know that. I also know the union makes it very difficult on how things have to be done. Let me begin by saying that I’m 100 on board with shrinking the size of gov. Everyone they have laid off that has been in their probationary period I get it. That’s business. No problem here from that side. Where my issue comes in when the resignation buyout was offered, there was absolutely NO information offered. They just threw that out there. She has over 30 people that report to her. She is getting questions asked to her that when she passes up the chain and even to HR the answer was “we don’t know” or HR actually said “ Tell them that if that accept the buyout we will get answers at that time”. That’s unacceptable. Some of these people have 20 plus years in a career and deserve to be able to get some simple answers to questions before making a life altering decision not after. They were offered the buyout. Then received an email stating that due to the essential nature of their job they couldn’t get the buyout. Then the next time they heard about it was LITERALLY the day the judge ruled in favor of Trump and allowed the buyout to continue. Then magically they received an email stating they in fact could take it. The problem is that email came at 6:18 pm. Which is after hours so no one knew it until the next morning and the deadline was at 7pm. They went from offer being off the table to being able to get it and they have to decide that in 42 minutes after hours when their gov computer is at the office.
Then you have the matter of the “list 5 things you did this week”. That in itself is no big deal but how bout let each supervisor write that for each employee (which would put more work on supervisors such as my wife but would make it much more legit). The managers job is to manage their employees and know what they doing so let them do the reports. Now when they realize that out of so many under you that really only half are being productive now we know how many to cut. Much better than letting every person bullshit their way through it trying to save their job.
Sorry for the long reply just a lot to be said. I could go on and on with more but I’ve drug it out long enough.
Lastly tho…. The unfortunate part of this is while there are ALOT of useless people in gov that need to be gone, there are a lot of good hardworking people also there that are getting caught up in this mess and lives are being affected by it. Not ours because either way we’ll be fine but other people I know won’t be.
That just sounds like a future branch of bureaucracy.
Think about it, a few years down the line, 'work-reports' detailing all that has 'technically' been done and that fit the criteria..
Kinda reminds me of the check-box quota 'education' system, and we all know those devolved schools into cookie-cutter factories existing only to 'meet quota' to procure further funds.....
I've seen the e- mail. It says list 5 things you did last week, and says nothing about a resignation.
I'm guessing a lot of the hiring done in the last 4 years is fake. Elon probably found 5 million govt employees and only 4 million e- mail accounts or something like that.
If you don't report, you're gone.
If you report and we audit you and find out you lied, that is theft, you are gone, and we will prosecute resulting in a record for future employers to consider.
I have to write segment debriefs and take pictures of what I’m doing all day. I don’t want to hear a bunch of crying from some lazy no good for nothing.
Can you tell me...what exactly it is you do here?
A couple of Elon’s DOGE genius’ should change their social media handles to Bob 1 and Bob 2
I take money from taxslaves and give it to soros ngos.
I'm a people person. What's wrong with you people?
At the top of the email it should autoplay that gif.
🎶 when a maaaaan loves a woman!🎶
Percy!!
I have people skills!!
What the hell, man? First, federal employees have to actually Show up at the office and now they have to work too?
Barbaric.
This truly is horrific! Trump and Elon are absolute monsters!
Exactly what I was thinking. In the real world, we work steadily throughout the day. I enjoy it, because I sleep that much better. Requiring that killer vax was total bullshit, sorry it happened to you.
The small group of hard working patriots in government jobs are enjoying every minute of this; betcha management is shitting their pants.
I’m sure there are a few. Probably less than 10%.
Actually, the worker bee numbers could actually be higher. I would imagine that like most bureaucracies the number of management is way too high.
Now do drug testing. At least for management.
This is so beautiful.
Make those lazy bastards do something that roughly resembles accountability and work that might possibly produce some approximation to productive results.
Oh, the horror! /s
They might have to actually start acting like private sector employees!
I've had to do that. It's a reasonable thing for employers to ask. What did you do this week? Simple. Keep a daily journal and send it in eod, Friday.
You should be doing this even if they don't ask for it.
Yes it's a good habit regardless
I use to do it as CYA. Now I realize when ever I'm asked to do that it means management is looking for a reason to fire me.
See, if management can't see it via my commits, tickets, notes, emails, chats, and results of my efforts, I'm off the ship of incompetent.
100%

Good for him, hopefully he banked a good deal of money. Sometimes you just hit a wall money be damned

The US government has been pur on an action plan!
u/#bahaha
Just so everyone should know...this is NOTHING BUT A SIMPLE TEST OF what these .gov employees are going to send back in the email.
This is a gotcha' moment when ALL of the FEDERAL employees MUST "describe" WHAT they did...the week before!!!!!!!
Think for a moment...getting something in an email to 'describe" what one did a week ago...think of the ramifications of that question!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should see the crybabies on Reddit…… https://www.reddit.com/r/fednews/s/y1VckvcZhy

This is your first comment in 3 years.
With everything thats happened in the last 3 years, making fed
glowiesemployees do a simple task is what pissed you off enough to type all that?https://greatawakening.win/p/19AK69vdyC/spare-a-thought-for-all-the-soon/c/

I believe the teachers' unions and federal department of education are more to blame for the devolved schools than anything else.
Yeah, but humans won't stop being humans and all humans want their job to be easy.
likely result:
Want easy job = game system to make that happen.
New system = new game...
Don't think there is a single job/function on the planet where this hasn't happened already....
The smarter (more cunning?) ones will remember to cc: an outside email account, just to make sure their emails don't get "lost".
So many heads are going to explode on Monday. They were so unhappy about the resign emails. And now this “indignity”??
I predict more will leave as a result of this treatment.
I've seen the e- mail. It says list 5 things you did last week, and says nothing about a resignation.

LOL!
Anytime management does this. It has nothing to do with performance!
It has everything to do with them wanting to find reason to fire someone.
A status report can be subjective.
This isn't going to determine who is the best workers or not.
LOL!!
Porn all day !
Could be. My only Govt experience is in the US military. I saw how useless the GS workers were.
If you don't report, you're gone. If you report and we audit you and find out you lied, that is theft, you are gone, and we will prosecute resulting in a record for future employers to consider.
I had to submit weekly reports for years as an employee so our positions could be justified to the bean counters.
Zero reason why federal employees can't do the same.
I have to write segment debriefs and take pictures of what I’m doing all day. I don’t want to hear a bunch of crying from some lazy no good for nothing.
