I find it quite shitty truck drivers are never mentioned when companies and corporations do virtue signaling like this, ESPECIALLY when Covid hit.
While truck drivers were on the road hauling ass to get water and toilet paper to stores, nurses were on tik tok in empty hospitals (the same hospitals they told us were full to the brim) making dance videos.
Don't even get me fucking started on teachers.
This country would fall apart overnight without our truckers keeping gas stations filled and grocery stores stocked.
Ex truckers loose their seniority. In the corperate trucking world seniority means everything. When that lazy fuck looses his benefits he will be on the bottom of the list. All he will see for a while is shitty runs that none of the senior drivers want to touch. Good for him.

Driving a truck is definitely not a "lowly skill." Try backing a semi.
If you have any skill at all backing up a vehicle you can back up a double trailer, single trailer is harder except for distance. All this can be taught, except they will train any monkey from any country to drive nowadays. The truckers need to clean up as much if not more than the cops in this country. Yea, I know most car drivers are idiots, but a lot of big rig drivers are just as bad or worse. They just don’t give a fuck anymore.
Lowly skills? Lol! Let me guess, never driven a truck before. You left me know how tired you are after working for 14 hours, now how did you feel in that last 4 hour drive you took! I see four wheelers stretching in pain at rest areas. Rookies! Our number one skill is saving lives! I save more lives in a day than an ambulance worker. Four wheelers have no respect for distance it takes to stop a rig, your welcome, that trucker you just cut off saved your life by somehow not turning your car into a pop can. Lowly skills? If trucks stopped moving you would be killing your neighbor for food in a week. Everything you own was on a truck at some point. Everything you want will be brought by a lowly skilled trucker. How about remembering to pull over when there are (5) or more cars behind you. The old professional truckers remembered that rule. It seems the new ones forget that they are “professional drivers” and act like the lane blocking morons they are complaining about. How about a reawakening of your new drivers? You don’t walk on on water, it’s like the cops, start calling out your pricks first because you have plenty.
How about 30mil dollar lawsuits for getting hit while pulled over to let people pass. How about you stick to things you know about. Perhaps learn a bit of patience?

Several athletic department staff that are over 200K. They all get pensions. It's disgusting, when you compare that to the police department or others who deserve more.

My youngest daughters fiance is a long distance truck driver. They come home to visit every few months. The hardest I think for them is when a company screws around and makes them wait hours before they can get the correct papers from the company they are dropping a load off to before they can leave or they don't get paid for delivering the load. Then they are literally stuck right there if his "time" for driving is up. They have no way to get to a restroom, get to a truck stop for gas, showers, food, ect.

I think he's referring to the stupid ill thought out reg that drivers cannot drive a minute over a certain amount of time no matter what for a rest period with no consideration for drivers' personal abilities or, as referenced above, the availability of a good stopping place.

Lmao yeah I was just about to clarify that in a comment. We STARTED in a Verizon store today, wound up at a Walmart cuz apparently my dad bought his phone at a 3rd party Walmart kiosk.... Turned out we had to drive 1.5 hours to the SAME Walmart kiosk.... That was a fun drive over 100 both ways in my Miata.... just love coming back like 10 hours later to see my post blew up. Yay. Lol.

Doesn't appear to be powered on or plugged in. Could be an oversight by the store or just a defective display.
I tried but a complete idiot set up the Verizon section of the phones (Wal-Mart, slight fuckup in title but whatever). That flip phone was in a security thingy that was designed shiftily, the charger can't connect because iron-grippy thing is blocking it. I'm sure there's a low-profile charger. But the only reason I could pull this off was because a moron put regular phones not in Retail Mode on the displays. All of them I set the brightness up and told the phones to stay awake for max time(lol).

All of you congratulating this effort when the effectiveness is pretty slim. Most likely when op was done, a store employee came by and "cleaned up" the display, or baring that, if the phone has a demo video, it will close all apps running, including the browser, and reset just about everything. (Guest login sort of thing)
More effective would be doing it at a walmart where there is a much larger audience... and PC's sitting there without a demo mode. A Verizon store has a rather limited audience and the Demo mode doesn't save things typically on those phones.
The morons actually set up regular phones on the Verizon displays. It's at a Walmart. The whole problem was they accidentally sold my dad the ACTUAL demo phone. So the other brands have the correct display devices, but the Verizon ones are regular ones which I set to that page on highest brightness and max wait time for screen shutoff. Whoever unlocks those phones sees those screens. And I promise them Walmart fucks are way too busy with other shit. It will take time but eventually someone will unlock and view those devices.
