Unlike an airfield venue however, it was rural in old cornfields. The waiting line before security probably stretched a quarter-mile or more in one direction, then turned and paralleled back on itself. There were old people with walkers, canes and wheelchairs that were in the long line. In gravelly-muck determinedly struggling. Other than that the rain had subsided before the Rally really began and the sun beamed before sunset...surrounded by enthusiastic, wonderful Patriots 💕🇺🇸😎. The Patriot’s exodus post speech was another mess I’ll save for later maybe? Hint; NOT any Patriot’s fault, more like planning issues with Security.

Your rally experience sounds very much like ours...in line for hours surrounded by patriots young, old, every race and description just so pumped to be there. I actually met General Patton's grandson at an air show in Fort Smith, Arkansas many years ago. My son was in Civil Air Patrol and the young Patton was as well. At 14, he was already physically imposing and had a confidence, presence, and aura that was of a man much older and more seasoned. I always felt privileged to shake this young man's hand.
