Our local bell ringer at the super market is a really nice dude. He's be doing it at the same spot for years and he always remembers me. This year I saw him and asked hows he doing? He said well... Not a lot of dollars going into the kettle this year. I said you know why don't you? He said yeah...I know why. He said the SA does do good work but the leadership has been totally infiltrated by the woke crowd and it's really hurting them financially. He said next year will be different because they're going to make sure they're all taken out of the charity. I said good luck and maybe next year I'll put a few bucks in the kettle but not this year.
Exactly. I generally support Salvation Army over other organizations because they have one of the largest percentages going toward their work and not salaries. I’ve had a friend helped after losing everything in a home fire. This year they need to learn a lesson of “get woke, go broke.”

There was a concerted effort to deflect the roll of the church from salvation to the social gospel in the 1930's. It was long before that but their fruits of evil began to manifest themselves in the '30's. This was the infiltration of all christian churches coined as "liberation theology". At the same time a more militant approach infiltrated islam. Odd that all involved in the reworking of Christianity and Islam were Jewish Masons.
I think as an idea there were already admirers and infiltraters, and the sudden disruption in business and farming (dust bowl) caused a lot of people to look favorably on big govt, and handouts. I had relatives who thought the WPA was ridiculous make-work, but it kept them eating. That's how communism gets a hook in society.

I don't know if this particular branch is representative of all, but she said when donations were made, the "higher ups" would see if there was anything they liked, and keep it! SA has probably become like most large "non-profits"; very little money actually goes to their cause, with most going to fundraising and salary for the higher ups. The Red Cross was exposed during the Haiti earthquake and took most of the heat from people like us. It wasn’t until recently that the Salvation Army has shown themselves to be as culpable as the Red Cross.
I imagine they started out as a good organization though. My Gramas house burned down when my husband and I were dating 30yrs ago and her insurance would only cover less than half of a new house. I got KOMO News People Helper, Red Cross and Salvation Army to help and they built a new house for her but my scammer uncle (who never wanted to live there) insisted on a much bigger house than she wanted then he conned Grama into signing everything into his name that was supposed to (according to her original will be divided between my dad and two uncles) leaving my dad and my other uncle homeless while he rented out and later sold the house when Grama passed away.
Let them spend more time sorting miscellaneous trash than coins. Then they must discard the junk. Eventually they will get back to their core grifting and leave societal destruction to the communist.
