One of my government loans forgiven? My wife received SSI before we were married, then we went to their office to submit her new income (through me) and despite our prodding to be sure, they gave us the green light and kept laying her. I know, we should've just stopped it, but I wasn't that ethical yet.
After a year or so, we get a letter saying "oops we messed up, pay it all back with interest."
