One of the greatest things I have ever learned and essentially how I ended up here...

In high school debate, we had to be prepared to defend either the pro or con of the topic. One cannot convincingly convey one's position, without knowing the other side in detail.
Exactly
And then they taught us how to talk fast like Ben Shapiro and make our opponents look stupid in order to win arguments. Modern "debating" is a sad joke.
sick pwn
Just curious, how do you defend the anti-gun argument?
Well you use the if there are less guns there is less chance of being shot with one. Like in the UK where they stab the shit out of everyone instead. They used the argument in Oz after a dodgy FF at Port Arthur and took everyone's guns. Except the criminals and the Government
Well the second amendment to start with . . .
somuchwinning45: I am not being flippant with my reply! I have my own time priorities such that I cannot here summarize the entire gun control debate of the last half-century . . .
One has to have a response to each particular "argument" they throw out by rote. We do have those arguments; they mostly will not listen though.
You already know those arguments and responses I would bet. Good luck with the red-pilling!
Some type of purely emotional based argument, quote a bunch of sources on the amount of gun deaths that other people perceive as having authority, spout out some silly gotcha argument, and then pray that the person you are debating doesn't mention the fact a gun can't fire itself.
Look, gun scary. Less gun, less scary, good
I couldn’t agree more. High school debate class was the same. The room was setup on two sides facing each other. You picked a side to defend it, but once you begin to dissect the issue with questions and responses, you could change sides at any time, but had to disclose why you were changing sides. It was one of the most effective critical thinking classes I ever had. And kids looked forward to it! No homework and no tests, only participation. Students could put on a suggestion list any topic for debate.
I wish more of the members of this forum embodied the above.
We can't change everyone overnight, only speak the truth and be open to other ideas...one person at a time my fren...#WeWin #GodWins
Yes, this right here!
Most people don't have the character or self-esteem to admit they're wrong, especially younger generations. I'm a millennial so I'm not telling anyone to get off my lawn. When I was in college I asked probably 80% of the questions in my classes because most people are afraid they might be asking a dumb question.
The absolute worst part about trying to have discussions either here or over on PDW, is that it quickly decays into someone calling you names or otherwise insulting you...for simply expressing an opinion or historical fact. This is the first place I've ever encountered something like that...
I just turned 60 and want to thank you for standing up to the brain washing. Thank you Pede!
Here here!
Me too.
Intelligence is being able to entertain an idea without accepting it.
It's also being able to respect those with ideas and opinions you disagree with.
This is how I ended up in the arms of Jesus Christ. Thinking I knew everything eventually broke me. As I’m sure the Father knew it would. I have meaning to this life now. And am much better off as a person all together. Thank you Jesus, my Lord and Savior.
One trait I believe the majority of us share is being Low in Agreeableness. Some how some way we are less concerned with "fitting in" with the crowd than normies are.
As far as professions, ones that lend themselves to being "wrong" often suits us well. I suspect more engineers here than doctors. Anything where divorcing oneself of one's ego happens on a daily basis to find truth.
I am a mechanic
truth
Probably generally true about doctors on GAW. However, I just found out my sister in law's older sister is a doctor and is a member of the Global Covid Summit. She has personally met and talked to Dr. Malone, Dr. McCullough, and Dr. Cole several times. I was both jealous and really stoked after a recent conversation with her!
The truth isnt subject to democratic consensus, nor expedience, hurt feelings or bruised egos. Nor any of the other fallacies that are so commonly seen in lieu of facts.
Holding yourself to a standard you would like others to hold you to is a civilizational staple.. the golden rule.
very true.
I've been pondering this very subject lately, especially as it applies to people in my life who suffer cognitive dissonance regarding current issues. The same people who refuse to see or who deny the obvious are the same types who never seem to be able to admit when they're wrong about anything, who I can't recall ever hearing them apologize for losing their temper or making mistakes, or having been wrong about something. I'm not afraid to admit when I'm wrong. Not saying I'm perfect, but I believe it's our ability to put our ego aside and be comfortable with changing our previously held convictions that make us grow and develop (improve ourselves).
Well said. I think people who can do what you describe are much happier as well.
I did the same thing...I KNEW there was something wrong and THEN I started watching X22 and Dave's reports and questioned even more...Then I found this site, which BTW, was ENTIRELY by accident when someone mentioned Q and QAnon...
People on the left need to read this and ponder on it
they won't.."pain" is the only thing that will change their thought process'
People of all ideologies need to ponder this.
Same. But yikes, it has taken me down some weird places. Stuff that just blows my mind.
Me too. I pretty much trusted most things prior to 2019. Ive learned so many wild and horrendous things since then- it has changed who I am and how I see everything. It’s a hard adjustment
AMEN!!!!!! :)
TO QUESTION is the THRESHOLD TO REALITY
Ole, your statement is why I think many doctors and scientists are basically dumb. They take tests well but real life stumps them.
In case you haven't seen it I think you will really like this post. It was very popular:

Thank-you, I had seen the post!
I know quite a few people who should get this. Great meme.
Challenge everything you know.
Except how you know you should challenge everything you know.
???
I'm going to post this on FB. Nobody follows me so I won't be ghosted. Or flagged, or whatever they do to people like me. Ignore most likely.
Jesus isn't the only way to gnosis.
Since He judges all of us individually, I'm inclined to agree. Also, we don't know what paths are best for anyone but ourselves. Christians failing to respect people's right to choose their own belief is ultimately what cost them losing the culture war... And rightly so.
If you think you're in a position to decide what's best for everyone, you're wrong.
Just within Christianity there are arguments, about how to worship, what to believe, literally or figuratively, especially when Christians discuss the old testament, wow, it can get heated, with name calling, etc. Religion is one thing that cannot be proven, unless lived, so, in reality, there are no "facts", just Faith. Dogma leaves very little room for discussion and points of view, it kinda sucks.
Well he certainly did not judge the ancient Israelites individually. They failed to maintain their seperateness being the called out one's. They multicultured and race mixed which led to following after strange God's. That's what cost Christians the culture war. They have followed in the same footsteps. Christianity was never meant for everyone. If it were there would have been no need to speak in parables.
It amazes me with how strong we have learned the deceptions of the cabal, that so many here still trust the Bible was kept perfectly in the hands of man... particularly, men who desired power and control and exploited and distorted the word of God to get it.
A pattern I am noticing here is that you parrot this claim of "Christianity isn't for everyone" or similarly "there are only certain people chosen" and such, phrases that are often iterated in other faiths as well... what bothers me the most about these phrases is the isolationism and elitist mindset it generates... it's also the EXACT SAME mentality that the elitists and the cabal have... that they are chosen and they know what's best for everyone. Yet it also seems that through history, the people promising to know what's best for everyone are also inevitably resisted and overthrown... and I mean you went down further with your snobby elitists attitude to suggest that the inter mingling was what caused a fracture and I totally disagree. This whole mass punishment scam has been used for thousands of years and it more often times results in people revolting against the authority and often times, rightly so. And of course Christians LOVE authority cause they're told to respect it assuming that God divinely placed it there, even though Jesus never said any such thing aside from reaffirming payment of your debts and ultimately preached a message of personal choice and conviction...
Look, we could go on for hours back and forth, but at the end of the day, if Jesus comes back then that's that and we'll figure it out from there. Otherwise I advise the wisdom of Psalm 1:1 and stay out of the way of sinners...
Multiculturalism will always always always lead to a police state.
That is the goal.
The elitist and the cabal "believe this" because they are Edomites and have a stolen identity. They want you to believe there is only one race, the human race. Then they use it to divide. Yes we could go on and on. Psalm 1:1 is a good place to leave It.
never ! >:]
That would require THINKING. Unfortunately that's not possible for most of the US population.
Oliver Cromwell: “Consider That Ye May Be Wrong.”
Amen!
You mean like the "evidence" that spilt jet fuel brought the twin towers down?
The measure of one's character is shown in how one handles success. The measure of one's wisdom is shown in how one handles failure.
"admit the possibility that you were wrong"... It is literally almost 2023. The election was stolen in 2020. Biden was supposed to be arrested before the inauguration. They've passed so many bills, jabbed the military, and put their jogger on the SC. AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED
Sometimes you are so right you have to double down into oblivion
"Except for us. We have it all figured out and know what's best for everyone."
-religious fundamentalists
Except for religion. Then it's all faith and no chance of being wrong because of feelings!
Catchy, perhaps protective of comfy feelings but definitely not true.
Fwiw, the most ancient iteration of Christianity teaches that Christ did not come to create a new religion. Christ came to end the need for religions and priestly intermediaries. That's why the early church was called The Way (of Life) and it was recognized that each persons journey is unique.
The Orthodox Way by Oxford scholar, Ware, is an eye opening and life transforming read, especially for Westerners.
