Funny because Lindell's sales surged 30% to 40% and Goya sales surged 56% due to the left's attempted cancelling.

I thought the "threats of violence" thing had been debunked... apparently it never happened, it was made up. So of COURSE [they] will continue using that myth as their go-to talking point. Normies will believe anything.

Wouldn't put it past the woke crowd to dress up like maga and destroy or threaten target employee's because maga people won't do it, make it look like maga did it and point fingers.

permalink parent save report block reply

It was debunked. The AP published a story citing violence. Some Chad on Twitter demanded documentation of the violence and AP couldn't provide it so they stealth edited the story.

Then we got the actual terrorist threats from the trannies who called in bomb threats at 5 Target stores promising to continue until the homosexuality improved.

I've gotten to the point where I ignore the "threats of violence" or "death threats" claims. All it takes is one crazed lunatic to make the claim and immediately, the offending Marxists will play the victim. There's never any reporting about what the actual threat was, whether it was credible, and certainly never any reporting about police follow-up and arrests for making such threats. It's just a talking point to garner sympathy until backed up with a police report as far as I'm concerned.

I do not care if they change their policies. I do not care if they sell satanic crap OR if they change their policy to stop selling satanic crap. I am not trying to get them to change their behavior.

I am simply not going to shop at Target.

This is the same policy I have for the Adult Pleasures Superstore, Petsmart, Slumberland, Hobby Lobby, Walgreens, Lowe's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Bath and Body, and Krogers.

I do not shop at these stores either.

Not sure why you are being down voted. Unless you are making fun of me and I just don't get the joke.

I had first listed the Adult store because I would see it every time on the highway when I went to visit my mom. Son wanted to know what kind of store that was (when he was little). I told him that it is a store we don't shop at. Clear connection to Target - a store we don't shop at.

Later, I thought, wait a minute, there are a bunch of stores I don't go to, so I editted and added these in no particular order. Just stores that I see along the highway, but don't go to either.

Who says they have to "do" anything?

Marketing 101 Customers are fickle. Brand loyalty is like gold.

For me, Home Depot and Menards are local. Lowes is not. I have "heard" that Lowes caters to women who don't know how to do stuff. True? IDK. But, that doesn't sound like a place for me. My "impression" is that it is going to be cheap and plasticy.

Now, in all fairness to Lowes, I should verify this info, but, is it going to make a material difference? No, it won't. I will still shop locally at Menards and Home Depot. So, I won't bother. I might be totally wrong. I can live with that.

See, fickle reasoning. Menards and Home Depot just happen to be close AND I have had many good experiences there.

Lowes has to overcome my negative impressions of them and get me to not shop local in order for me to shop at their store.

How is Home Depot a "local" store? It's a big corporation with big box stores all over the place.

"The Home Depot, Inc., often simply referred to as Home Depot, is an American multinational home improvement retail corporation that sells tools, construction products, appliances, and services, including fuel and transportation rentals. Home Depot is the largest home improvement retailer in the United States." - Wikipedia

It's even bigger than Lowe's. You aren't shopping locally by shopping at the largest home improvement corporation in the country.

Menards isn't really local either, unless you're in Wisconsin. They have over 350 stores.

Even though Lowe's is number two in the field, they are more local to me than Home Depot and Menards, as their headquarters is in my state of NC.

So three stores are running neck and neck as the top three largest home improvement stores, and you pick one and say it's not local, but claim the other two are, when there's really zero difference.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– Dee68 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

We are using the term "local" differently.

We have Menards and Home Depot in my town. Both are less than 5 miles from my house - they are local.

The closest Lowes is about 20-25 miles away.

You are correct in saying that all three are big box stores. Wasn't trying to imply the these are mom and pop stores.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– Aspie 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

"Local" implies locally owned and operated. We have very few local businesses, other than a few restaurants, tattoo parlors, and vape shops.

You're lucky having any kind of mom and pop business. We do have an empty lot at a busy intersection that has a fruit stand in season, then pumpkins, then Christmas trees, then empty again. I believe that's all local, except the Christmas trees are probably shipped in from the western part of the state.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– Dee68 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

Yes. I can see where the confusion came in.

We do not have a DIY store that is mom and pop owned.

We used to about 20-25 years back and we would shop there - until they had to close due to mismanagement/embezzlement issues.

Now I look at Menards and Home Depot in my town and realize that they employ my neighbors from the community.

Do you grow your own food? In most places, there are no grocery stores other than the big boys. In my town, all the regular grocery stores are Food Lion. We have one Aldi, where half the store is lawn chairs, planters, and other crap. And then there's Walmart, which I don't count as a grocery store because of their lack of selection in many areas. They don't even have a butcher.

I stopped going to Target when they first started with the gender bathroom crap. I don't even remember the last time I went to one. It has been years. There was nothing ever in there that I needed and nothing that I couldn't find from an apolitical business. We need one of these big store chains to come out and be conservative. Burying these ESG compliant/blackmailed chains one at a time needs a counterbalance with one that we can support and direct all our business to. It would be nice to show them one that has their business doubled or tripled because of us "terrorists".

To be fair, “Threaten the employees” != “boycotting”

I’ve seen no evidence of threatening employees from the right though, so he must be calling the democrats, who are pissed at Target caving, and reacting violently, the terrorists. Sounds fair.

We don’t like what you stand for, so we won’t buy your shit.

Vs.

You better sell shit that promotes our agenda, or we’ll burn you to the ground.

Only one of those sounds even mildly terroristic to me.

So what if I had never bought anything from Target in the first place, long before any boycotts happened? I just find the place insufferable... sterile, too brightly lit, and drawing zombies to shop there. Never did like the place...

So am I still a "domestic terrorist" or am I just a Neanderthal? Would love to know... or maybe not, I don't really care. Screw Target...and Chick-Fil-A... and Disney ... and ....

Uh well let’s see…. Didn’t an LGBTQ alphabet soup group threaten to blow up a target for taking the crap down? These assholes can’t boycott shit financially because they don’t have jobs and sponge of their unhinged psycho parents who should have set them straight a long time ago. I will decide where I spend my hard earned money. I’ve worked since I was 13 years old. I grew up in an alcoholic home until I was 16 when my mom got sober. I worked hard (probably too much at times) but I still raised my kids well and taught them good morals and ethics. They are great adults now. This has all gone out the window with the looney tunes parents. Don’t call me an economic terrorist for not wanting to play in your rainbow sandbox. The last time I checked I still live in a country where I have choices. I CHOOSE and you won’t dictate to me. Target, Kohl’s, Petco, Petsmart, gone. Will not spend my money there!!

Wait a minute.

Unless I am mistaken, threatening someone and creating fear is a punishable offense. Right?

Target's forensic science unit is top notch. Seriously bad-assed. PDs will sometimes send Target some of their forensic work, at least they used to do this. High profile cases as well - murder and abductions. Especially in the case of abductions - the first 24 hours are critical, so, all hands on deck. Target would drop all other work to help. Target would do this work as a way of giving back to the community.

My point here is that Target has the capabilies to easily build a case against the perpetrators. The perpetrators should be held accountable for their actions and prosecuted.

We are a nation of laws. IF this happened, and I question that it did, it should prosecuted. Clutching your lady parts and hyperventilating about terrorism is not the way to handle this.
