Soybean oil causes changes in the brain.

NOBODY should be consuming soy at all and yet it is in most processed foods. It is almost as bad as palm oil. I'm convinced soy is responsible for the low testosterone level in so many men.
I like how in the article they say it's just the oil and all other soy products are fine. Yeah, i'm not buying that!
Textured vegetable protein (TVP) is soybeans, from what I remember. It's in a lot of stuff.
Want your grocery trips to take twice as long? If it says soy ANYWHERE in the ingredients, put it back. Soy lecithin, soy flour, soy bean oil etc, this shit is jn EVERYTHING.
It's insidious. And like high fructose corn syrup and the dreaded stevia, it's finding it's way into all sort of things. Next time you buy mayonnaise or salad dressing, check the ingredients.
They sneak this stuff into things you'd never think would contain them. Since going gluten free I'm an avid label reader. It truly is horrifying what's in 'food' these days!
most mayo has some soy bean oil. I now use MAYO made with only Avocado Oil. Pretty spendy but worth it
I bought a large jar for 15. Good stuff
Not just some, virtually ALL of it is soybean oil. I tried avocado oil and hated the taste. I love avocados and couldn't believe avocado oil could be so wretched. Perhaps it was the brand.
Primal Kitchen. It tastes awesome to me
Alright, thank you. I'll look for that one.
It's kind of horrifying, once you wake up and start reading those labels.
Indeed. Perhaps that's why so many people avoid doing so. They can't face it.
Whats wrong with stevia now :(
Sorry, it might be perfectly fine for you. If you know anybody who has a ragweed allergy (very common) you might want to warn them that stevia comes from a plant related to ragweed. Some people have very bizarre allergic reactions to it.
More poison food!
I was stupid about it until this year and realized it's vegetable oil. I'm a friggin' trained chef and never questioned it. I grew up with it and margarine. So gross. I use better fats now.
I must add that I slowly stopped using it years ago because of the partially hydrogenated trans fat junk.
HAVE BEEN OFF THAT SHISTA for several years NOW and have dropped my blood pressure to 117/71!!!!!!!
And off the chlorchestral pills!!!!
That's awesome!!
Way to go!
I worked in restaurants my whole life and it was everywhere.
When they started touting how 'good for you' it was, should have been a red flag that it wasn't.
Yep! I admit I've always wondered how they go oil from vegetables, you know, but never bothered to look i to it.
There's videos about how they do it. So gross.
I never bothered to look into it either, and thanks to what u/dty6 says, I probably won't!
I'm telling you. I stopped with the inflammatory oils and I feel so much better.
We've switched to olive oil and olives are technically a fruit, not a vegetable.
That's right! Avocado oil is good too and so is coconut oil.
Haven't tried those yet. Not a big fan of avocado and really don't like coconut at all. Do the oils taste like the foods? I don't like green olives (love the black, though), but the extra light virgin oil doesn't seem to have much olive taste, so it's fine.
Avocado oil doesn't taste like an avocado. Coconut oil does. I love them both.
Well, that'll be the next one I try. Thank you for the input.

Here's an interesting comparison of butter versus coconut oil.
Mmm, that sounds good, I love ranch dressing. Now here comes the 'but'...
So I can use any, or a combo, of the three oils, (coc, av, olv)?
As long as the ranch mix is gluten free or I'd have to add the seasoning from scratch.
Never cared for mayo, although I can eat things it's in if it's a small enough portion that I can't single it out and taste it. Could sour cream or yogurt or something be substituted?
I've read good things about black cumin seed oil and I think I would like the nutty flavor. Is it at grocery stores or do I have to go somewhere else to get it?
Sorry to be a pain, have a few dietary needs in the household.
You should also cook with lard and tallow. Bacon grease is the best to use for many things.
When I grew up, everyone saved the bacon grease in an old Crisco can on the stove. It was used when frying because Teflon hadn't been invented yet. But then it was declared bad for you and we got rid of it.
Now let's do Teflon: https://www.healthy-holistic-living.com/dangers-of-teflon/
I know grocery stores used to sell lard and tallow, not sure if they still do, I'll have to check it out.
I can probably render my own from trimmings. That will kind of suck for me as I love the charred fat on steak, pork chops, etc., hate to cut it off!
Looking forward to trying the bacon grease, it will add a nice depth of flavor to a lot of dishes.
I can get lard at my Fry's (Kroger) grocery store. It is on the very bottom shelf in the baking isle. I still cook my eggs in butter. I brown my butter on low heat, once the fats start to brown (you will get a wonderful aroma) I add in my diced onions, jalapenos and saute them. I then add my eggs and gently cook them.
No, I don't think they are strong at all. And avocado is more stable at higher temps than olive oil.
That's good to know. I'll have to try it!
Use virgin pressed tallow.
Eat at home people...
It's literally in EVERYTHING. Even olive oil you think is good in a higher end Italian restaurant is diluted/deluded with soybean oil.
Like soft erections and shrunken nuts? Eat up buttercup. They're not called cheese dick soy bois for nothing.
I worked in restaurants and you wouldn't believe the corners that were cut!
Then who are using it?
Chinese Take-away?

Thank you for the link.
Still reading.... OMG!
Just replace oil with lard. SCP has wagyu fat for 30 bucks online, 42oz container and typically lasts me a few months.
I've read about lard and tallow. That sounds like a good price for something 'wagyu'. I'll have to look more into it. I've recently been saving my bacon grease. Going to try it next time it's scrambled eggs & home fries for dinner! 😋
Try popping popcorn in bacon grease...we did that growing up...it is delicious...
I also sprinkle Gaylord Hauser's original "SPIKE" on popcorn to season...very delicious...with butter...yum...
I am sorry to be late to this discussion...I only use Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil which is processed naturally (the traditional way) in the Phillipines....it is wonderfully delicious and the owner of this site is Patriot Brian Shilhavey. I buy it by the gallon...
He has written a definitive book on coconut oil and has revolutionized the push for medium chain triglycerides found in coconut oil...please visit his website to discover all the wonderful organic, healthy products he sells...and read his interesting background story.
I also use butter from grass fed cows...
Thank you for this info, I will pass it along. You are legendary when it comes to knowledge on the natural, the way it used to be.
I'm sorry. Q talked about poison in our environment, and I thought poison food qualified.

I'll try to do better in the future.
