I would think it would be easier to hide tweets, unless someone like Elon tweets them. One tweet of his gets around 10,000 replies. If reading one of Elons tweets and some of the replies, say 600 of the 10,000, would a non-paying Twitter user be able to see other tweets?

My guess is it is simply to curtail the reach and spread of counter-narratives beyond the manageable digital cage that is now login-mandated Twitter. If anything, he’s part of the seeding going on by the transhumanist technofascists (which he most certainly is) for how all internet access and real world movement will become eventually: digital thresholds conditional on ever more draconian, invasive and ultimately dangerous compliance measures, from bio-informatic IDs to jabs to social credit scores to purchasing and consumption patterns…
And Twitter is THE platform for them to target, because it is not a walled garden (normally) like Facebook and with Twitter everyone is a content producer as well as a content consumer (because one can retweet even if they create no original content), unlike YouTube and others.
I am not a Twitter user, nor do I belong to any other similar platform. It doesn't affect me one bit that I no longer can view Twitter postings. If they are provided in another form, I'll be happy to view them. As far as the AI censorship 'death star', may the force be with those who are fighting against it for its destruction.
My suspicion is that replies directly to you about your tweet would probably still only count as having viewed a single tweet. I wouldn't even know how to check that though, as I can never manage a tweet that gets more than 2 or 3 replies.
The real concern is not people replying to you, but you viewing tweets of others. That is how a bot can scrape data for an AI to identify trends.
TL;DR: Musk is stopping the Gov censorship by limiting how manyt tweets are viewable; no automated system can now scrape, looking for "actionable" content.
