My wife is Hispanic and often engages in conversation with other Hispanics. She was having a garage sale this week, and she was talking with some illegals from Mexico that showed up. They are complaining that illegals El Salvador and other central America countries keep coming and coming and coming. One said she has been working in USA for 15 years and used to be able to work 7 days a week at Wendy's, but due to the new arrivals, she can only work a few hours two or three days a week.
Today, some new arrivals from El Salvador arrived at my wife's garage sale. They arrived to USA with nothing but the shirts off their backs and were hoping for some free clothing or whatever.
In any case, this doesn't seem like it is going to end well for anyone in this country in the end.

Symptomatic of larger developing problems with American Corporate and Business Culture. I call it “Linegoupitis”. Essentially prioritizing making really good looking short term growth. The steeper the incline the better. As quickly as possible. Even at the cost of the Company’s long term health.
That’s why so many Companies of late that have lasted Decades if not a century or more. Have been running into financial issues. Or folding like Wetnapkins.
We tend to attribute it entirely to ‘Woke’. But most of them were making poor business decisions for years. Long before ‘Woke’ set in. The ‘Woke’ is just another nail in coffins that were progressively built over years of over-expansion and poor decision making. Now we’re seeing a convergence of factors play out that have been building for years.
Yes, the businesses are always chasing the bottom line - every management transformation since the mid-eighties have been budget focused. Each new crop of managers has that measurable objective. Note that true wellbeing initiatives are subjective in nature - they are very hard to measure, so the management theory tends to find things that can make graphs on software (linegoupitis - as you so eloquently put it.)
The main idea, however, is if you can count it, then make it a goal. So, counting race is a great way to 'balance' the workforce as an extension of this disease. The 'woke' ESGs are just a way to justify having more color in the workforce, ok we are not racist, but we still do race-based headcounts, that IMO hides the illegals nicely.
The advantage of taking on illegals is you can pay them anything you want (eyes light up - budget cuts). They will take any scraps of pay, don't need holiday pay no workee - no money. Furthermore, the poor souls are outside the system, so one doesn't have to pay tax or social security or health and safety payments to the government - and all that jazz. Furthermore, a lack of a need to comply, causes a blind spot for safety equipment or functioning machinery, that is required by law. (More handy budget cuts for the sheistery shiny new managers!). Do this at scale, as a corporate policy, taking into account any fines that will come up when they are busted. The fines are less than the taxes and holiday/sick leave payments.
And here we are again at the door of the dark satanic mills that started management literature that actually recognized working conditions. Remember that early labor unions actually wanted better safety practices and a living wage that could support mama and babies (future workers) before the unions became labeled as commie hot-beds or ruled by the mob. But labor unions would be outraged by the treatment of the illegals, and they would stop it. Why do you think their teeth were pulled during the nineties?

Funniest thing : There are a lot of Mexicans that can trace their lineage back to the time the land they live was still mexican in the 1840s. They, as well as a lot of latinos that went through all the hoops to get a visa and a green card, tend to not like illegals very much to say the least, due to enforcing negative stereotypes,as well as mooching off welfare and ramping up criminality wherever they go.
For all I care, the only people we should give easy asylum and a path to citizenship to would be the Cubans that manage to escape that hellhole of an island, as they normally hate commies even more than most right wing americans.

I don't dispute that there are wonderful hard-working and freedom-loving Cubans. And Armenians, and Chinese, and Iranians. But the permission, incentives and subsidies they have been given to come here fulfills the Kalergi plan just as surely as mass immigration, albeit more slowly.

I went to a nearby store the other day. For the first time since moving to this city, I was accosted by an illegal immigrant illegally selling tamales in the parking lot. I expect this in other cities, but not in mine. Now it has come to my door again.
I complained to the store manager. And when I later saw another illegal immigrant selling flowers on the side of the road, I called the police.
The police will shut down a child's lemonade stand on their parent's lawn, but they drag their feet when it comes to illegals selling flowers and tamales. I wonder what would happen if they were flooded with calls every time someone is illegally selling flowers or tamales?
When I lived in Austin a few decades ago, my landlord worked for Immigration. Every few months, he would raid various chain hotels - it was just a part of the job. One day, he got yelled at by the manager of the Red Roof Inn for daring to come back withing a single month. He showed up the next day. She got mad and struck him. She assaulted a Federal Agent, conducting his duty, under Federal law. Yeah, he arrested her right there, full felony charges pressed on the spot. Taking crap for doing your job, is not part of the job. Being assaulted for doing your job - well, she probably got off easy with just the felonies. But the message was sent out around the area - loud and clear.

Decades has the same story has been happening all around the country, especially in the border states. Illegals are hired to do "work no one else is willing to do" while the legal workers get the shaft. The illegals work for pennies, learn the taping, drywall, prime, paint, tile, etc trades and get small increases over time. When they complain, they are let go and there is a bunch of illegals to take their place. You notice I didn't put wallpaper installation on the list of trades. Wallpaper installation includes a lot of training. You get one shot with hanging paper and it is a lot of $$$ to replace when it is done incorrectly, shotty, etc. I say, round all illegals up, ship them back, build the fence, put barb wire on it, guards with guns, and signs everywhere saying they will be shot if they try to enter the country illegally.

My grandmother came here from Italy when she was 18 on a boat with Wild Bill Hickock and his Wild West Show. She went thru Ellis Island, got her citizenship legally. She couldn’t speak English fluently, but she was legal and loved America.

Not everyone is capable or learning a second language, especially fluently. I know many people who can’t do it. I grew up in a military family. I spent 22 years in the military. I know LOTS of people who can’t learn a second language, no matter how hard they try.
My dad met my mom during WWII in the South Pacific. When the war ended, he went back to the island, married her, and brought her back to the states. She was told, "You are in America now, so, speak English". She taught herself English. Mind you, there wasn't TVs at this time. Our next door neighbor was from Mexico. She refused to learn to speak English. She would talk to my mom in Spanish, and my mom would talk to her in English! My mom tried to get her to practice speaking English. She refused. My mom officially because a US citizen in 1960 because of what was happening in the world. She was afraid if war broke out, she would be deported. Everyone who wants to visit, work, play, live in this great country to try to speak the language; ENGLISH. Doesn't have to be perfect, but try is the key. It really irks me everything is in English and Spanish. Shouldn't be that way up by the border of Washington State and Canada, but my friend that lives 8 miles from the border says there is so much in Spanish, not so much French.

I'm married to a Filipina and let me tell you the legal immigration process sucks! I know at least 10 Filipinos who would come here for even a low wage job, if it weren't so hard. A good source if you don't mind the catholic faith, of teachers. There is already some working as teachers in the boonies. They are much more traditional and have a lot less foreign priests Kek.
