I just want to clarify my girlfriend I mean a friend that is a girl I have a husband I'm happily married🤪😜
Crazy that you have to clarify 'girlfriend' is a 'friend that is a girl'. Take me back to the 1960s, please!
Yes! The 'turbulent' 60s, when things were normal and the music was awesome.
I'd gladly take men in long flowing hair and flowered shirts passing out flowers and saying "Let's be peaceful for a change," over these violent unhinged psychopaths in smeared lipstick, 5 o'clock shadow and a dress, screaming about how healthy it is to teach their kindergarten students to finger the rubbery bunghole while blowing a roomful of AIDS-infected drag queens.
Even crazier that "girl" and "husband" are vague terms now, too. Back to the '60s, indeed!
Relax...girls have ALWAYS been allowed to say they have girlfriends, and everyone knows what they mean, and it's fine.
Men don't say they have boyfriends. One of the many differences between the two (2) sexes.
Females can also walk through airports, etc., hugging and holding hands, no problem.
Notice, the biblical proscriptions always specify men with other men ;)
Unfortunately those hippies were the precursor to what we see now.
Visualizing $98 as over half of $400+ takes gaslighting to a new level.
EXCELLENT OBSERVATION!!!!
HAHAHA .... That scaling of the bars is TOTALLY misrepresentative of the data. But knowing how fucked up govt utilities and all that are they will fire off some bullshit excuse that its on a "logarithmic scale" ( meaning as the outcome - the amount charged in this case, gets bigger, the visual graphic gets less and less).
Wanna bet the casinos didn’t get that amount of increase? Can you imagine their shrieking if they had? With all of the lights that they have on?
Ahead of the time. You ain't wrong either.
What a smashing economy!
We've been on flat bill pay for a year, at $120 a month, until it was re-evaluated in July and increased to $140. We've planned on getting off the flat pay, but we may just stick with it, seeing how we never know how much gas will increase and affect our heating bill this winter. What do you guys and gals think?
I have propane for heat and for my electric I am through a co-op and I don't have anybody else to choose I have to go through the co-op but I haven't seen an increase in my bill at all. It's been $200 a month since I moved here it hasn't changed. I mean it goes up and down depending on weather, but yeah and I'm going to hate to see propane prices this winter. like I start to putting $100 a week in my account for propane just to make sure I have enough to get it filled when we need it filled because we make too much money for help any kind of help we make too much money even with two children and I'm on disability
Try Ontario Canada.... Absolute hell on earth, the plan can't come to an end soon enough
Not related to power bills but interesting side note. Planning a trip to Vegas in October, a friend is flying in from Boston and a RT ticket (cheapest) is over $700. We are talking Jet Blue/Spirit airlines crap and there’s basically no direct flights. Not sure if he just waited too long to purchase or what but generally Vegas flights are a dime a dozen and direct flights are plenty. I also noticed no direct flights from Orlando to Vegas outside of Spirit and Frontier. Which I find really odd - prices definitely jumped but where’s all the direct flights?
We used to be able to fly to Vegas for under $100. Now, it was about $400 each when you consider bag fees, choose your own seat fees, priority boarding fees... etc. Plus when you get there, it's an arm and a leg for everything. Don't know about direct flights since we are a 2 hour flight from Vegas... however I used to take a direct flight to a smaller airport in Florida, and now the airlines have ended all the direct flights there due to expenses, so maybe that's what's happened to direct Vegas flights?
I live in a place where basically it is COLD all the time. I recently visited a friend, not in Las Vegas but nearby, and guess what It is VERY DAMN HOT there.
I suggested that maybe my friend should take advantage of all that free sunshine. If you get a 5000 litre water tank and paint it black then that is free showers for most of the year right there. Friend just looked at me like I was an idiot. She even pays to dry her clothes in an electric dryer when she could put them outside in the yard for free and get the extra benefit of ultra violet to kill bacteria.
Not defending the cabal and their fake induced energy crisis but aome people are their own worst enemy.
This is what modern day seige warfare looks like.
Did a D take over the state and/or county in last election? Whats included in that utility bill? Just water? I'm in AZ and in summer months, electric bill is always that high, but utility bill is just water and nowhere near that much
It looks like an NV Energy bill which is our gas and electric provider.
My NV Energy bill is 40% higher than normal and I didn't use A/C this year because I was worried about the cost.
Mine was up by Biden's inflation of 6%---------which in real math was double last year!
Our Georgia Power bill was $478 this month, the highest we have ever seen. My parents (who live 7 miles away) had a $254 bill for almost the same exact usage, from another service provider. GA Power doesn't break down the bill, but on the Public Service Commission's website, they do, and we found out they are charging us $180 in fuel surcharge, environmental fee and compensation for building a nuclear plant. We can't switch providers either, it's monopolized by location. It's really quite disgusting.
My Aug 2023 bill was $530 and my Aug 2022 bill was $367. This is in Phoenix, AZ. The latest bill was with newly installed ceiling insulation and the previous bill had almost no ceiling insulation at all (Old house built in the late 50s). The Aug 2022 bill would have been under $300 probably, had I had the insulation installed at that time.
There was a 14% rate hike at the start of this year and they're proposing another ~23% rate hike for next year.
It’s a shame the people don’t get a vote on that.
My electric bill was 600 dollars last month. I recieved notice this past spring that electric usage between 3pm and 7pm would be at an enhanced rate. Thieves. The exfiltration of wealth from the middle class to the petty tyrants.
Has she taken up blockchain mining? lol
Seriously though, did they raise rates through the roof? Did the electric company change her meter recently. They could have screwed up and switched meters with another customer who uses more power, Does the meter number on her bill match the number of the meter on her service? Does the meter reading match the consumption shown on her bill?
Complain about the high bill She might also consider having the power company test her meter. They should do that if you ask them.
Soon she'll own nothing and be happy!
With utility prices that high, it’s a big gamble living in Vegas.
I'm unfamiliar with what sort of energy generation Vegas has, assuming they use hydroelectric dams (Hoover dam). I know Lake Mead's level has plummeted and this may be severely affecting how much energy (and drinking water) supply they have, and as supply goes down, price goes up. I haven't checked in on the lake's water levels in a few months so I don't know if it's still an issue. And obviously the high temps of summer don't help.
And by comparison Vegas had a relatively shorter, cooler summer than usual.
Save her. Get her outta Commiefornia.
Inflation or extortion ?
The worst part is a few miles away from her, a family has their electric bill at $0 forever.
Thanks to her!
Kudos!
Don't know about the US but where I'm at you can sign a fixed kwH price contract(usually 3 of 5 years), most companies don't actively advertise(or at all) this possibility but they are generally happy to have that option as it guarantees a absolutely predictable income for them and the kwh price of a contract period is set to even out any expected price fluctuations, which they in the long run profit from as much as the buyer does in regard to predictable monthly bills.
Yes, you will at times pay moire pr kwh than others do but at times you will also pay significantly less so over a 3 or 5 year period it all evens out, and you will get no shock half your spare money power bills as the only fluctuations will be seasonal changes in your power-consumption.
I have been doing this for decades and unlike other people I never have any power-bill issues and never feel a need to save money by using less power as I can used it as/when needed without any worries...
Many of us are seeing the same. Our normal bill in August was around 120. This august it’s 260. I’m actually using way less energy than previously too. It’s just one more thing to have to worry about. I’m sure the energy bills this winter will be insane. I’m praying for a mild winter.
Two summers ago August $500. This year $787. Desantis fucked over everyone with who he picked for Florida Public Service Commission. Original windows installed 1986. Updated to hurricane windows and doors in 2022. Original AC have 2 2011. Replaced 1 in 2022. Also changed pool pumps to energy efficient ones. FPSC jacked are rates up big time starting in 2022. Fuck Desantis.
