I think there was a reason Jordan didn't vote for the ouster of McCarthy. The optics would have been bad to push ousting the guy to take his job.

I think this was the long term plan all along beginning in January with the McCarthy spectacle. If Jordan becomes speaker they have their potentially MAGA Speaker in place as the storm arrives.

Some of you guys just cant get through your heads that this is a psywar. Misdirection is everywhere. Manipulation is a key weapon. Moves to force your enemies into mistakes or to maneuver him into doing what you want against his own interests are the name of the game. Look deeper than the surface. You know how many times I was told that he was "playing a role", that Trump "wouldn't choose him without a reason", that he "wasn't a RINO" and that "he will adhere to the things he promised"?
All I see right now is the same exact thing happening as did before, except Jim Jordan has a few extra fans.

And others think everything is a white hat plan and there are no bad guys because everyone's an actor while our country has literally burned down, money has been shoved into a proxy war with another superpower, and people are jabbed with destructive "vaccines" and we are forcibly invaded by millions of military aged men.
It's like the concept of "moves and counter moves" completely disappeared unless it's needed as a function to hand wave away any concerns.

I think he is Trump's guy and probably still is.
Been thinking about all of this in-depth. I think Trump instructed Jordan, MTG, and many others within the Freedom Caucus and GOP to hold back against McCarthy because he still needed plenty of leverage against the Swamp in the House. And for this, their reputations within the GOP and outside GAW/Truth Social needs to be relatively intact.
Gaetz, regardless what you think of him, is a marked man, one's whose reputation is relatively shaky and his political future is unstable. This also makes him the perfect candidate to be a political assassin serving Trump, one who is local to Trump, capable of doing what is needed to be done, and, most importantly of all, is completely expendable in the grand scheme of Trump's chess board, and in comparison to everyone else. What happened earlier this week is, figuratively, him walking up to McCarthy, pulling out the gun that is laying around in the open (the vacate rule), pointing it at McCarthy, and pulling the trigger. The result is a politically-dead McCarthy, paving a way for one of Trump's allies to sweep in and take the seat.
It also means that Gaetz's political survival (and that of his accomplices) is uncertain at best, shot to Hell at worst. However, they have played their part and their role in the plan is done for the foreseeable future. It also might mean that the assassination weapon's purpose is done and it needs to be put away before it shoots someone Trump can't afford to lose.
So, I think Jordan and other's refusal to vacate McCarthy could be him being a RINO, but we could not rule out it being political pragmatism by Trump to make sure he still have a substantial group of reliable political allies within a Swampy Congress...

If there is one thing Trump is, it's a pragmatist. (albeit recognizing that true pragmatism involves not allowing corruption to win)
This is also why they are now talking about getting rid of the one vote motion to vacate, which was the assassin's weapon in this case.

Can’t say I disagree. Jim Jordan is one of the few GOP that seems to know what the fuck is going on. He is one of the only ones that asks questions that matter when given the opportunity. He asks questions that I would ask given the chance.
And the democrats hate/fear him. Would not allow him on the J6 committee. That makes him qualified in my book.
Back end deals to fund Ukraine wasn't a deal breaker for Jim Jordan. I'm sick of this game.

I don't know how many people remember this. But they went after Jim Jordan with fake charges just like they went after Matt Gaetz. I believe he's a good guy. Short of Trump taking a temporary Speaker role Jim Jordan would be my pick. He should have been chosen in January, but I think maybe the plan wasn't ready for him yet. Let's see what happens.
