Musk is creating his own university in Austin, Texas. It's starting with an elementary and high school focused on STEM, which will slowly expand into a massive university. Finally! Real education, not woke indoctrination. Other universities ask, "What are they getting that we're not???" JOBS! (twitter.com)

Honestly, if he's using it for AI advancement or whatever, objectively we still need a quality university in this country which teaches people actual skills instead of whatever moral outrage they need tithe with at the altar of Karl Marx. If Musk wants to fill the massive gap in this country's education system with a school that actually teaches people real useful skills, I'm going to remain optimistic on this idea.

Right now we have a small circle of globalists controlling what our children, and young adults are taught. That has shown to be a very bad thing.

And while Musk appears to a whitehat right now trusting one man with education can lead to bad results. I would much prefer to see education back in the hands of those paying for it, with a larger group of controllers, and a huge amount of oversight with consequences for now following what the people want their children taught, and what they are paying for.

A very important series of things that all branch off into different professions -- everyone should at least get rudimentary education in as many (ideally, all) of these as possible, even if they follow a different path than one that focuses on them.

Very good, and actually honestly you have to wonder why people haven't been creating new schools and universities for so many years.

STEM? They're even more prone to indoctrination. I heard that "mathematics" has a "teaching" inside it called "binary" that teaches people there are only two genders. TROJAN HORSE!

Gosh, and here I thought binary was just the duality of ones and zeroes! You're either a winner or a zero!

As a serious aside, do they even teach about the Trojan Horse in schools anymore, or do they only do it to indoctrinate kids into not understanding that a solid 75% of their agenda is shoved through using this exact tactic?

Elon Musk, who moved to Texas during the pandemic, is planning to start a university in Austin, according to tax filings for the billionaire’s latest charity called The Foundation.

The new institution, seeded with a roughly $100 million gift from Musk, will start with a STEM-focused primary and secondary school. Once that’s operating, it “intends ultimately to expand its operations to create a university dedicated to education at the highest levels,” according to an application to the Internal Revenue Service for tax-exempt status obtained by Bloomberg.

The university will employ “experienced faculty” and feature a traditional curriculum “alongside hands-on learning experience including simulations, case studies, fabrication/design projects and labs,” according to the application, which was filed in October 2022 and approved in March. It will seek accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

Representatives for Musk didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

This isn’t the first time Musk, 52, has started a school or expressed interest in opening a university. About a decade ago, the Tesla Inc. co-founder created Ad Astra on SpaceX’s California campus for his five kids and a few children of his space company’s employees. When Musk moved to Texas in 2020, the school also moved.

Home to the University of Texas’ main campus, Austin has become of hotbed of higher-education innovation. The University of Austin, launched two years ago as an alternative to the “illiberalism” of traditional US colleges, plans to open in the fall with an initial class of 100 students. The school, backed by prominent people in academia and finance, including the historian Niall Ferguson, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and venture capitalist Joe Lonsdale, has raised about $200 million in private donations.

Musk’s new STEM school was expecting an initial class of 50 students and looking to hire an executive director, teacher and administrator, according to the application. The Foundation’s trustees include Jared Birchall, head of Musk’s family office; Steven Chidester, a tax attorney at Withersworldwide; and Ronald Gong and Teresa Holland, who work at Catalyst Family Office in California.

The billionaire sent $2.2 billion worth of Tesla stock to his Musk Foundation in 2022. Along with donating nearly $100 million to seed his newest charity, it also made gifts to disaster relief nonprofit World Central Kitchen, Khan Academy and a donor advised fund at Fidelity Charitable, according to its most recent tax forms.

Musk, the world’s richest person with a net worth of $220.8 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, is also creating his own town outside of Austin, with recreational facilities, a school and subsidized housing for employees of Tesla, SpaceX and the Boring Co., the Wall Street Journal reported in March. If approved, the municipality would occupy thousands of acres he’s acquired in recent years.

STEM education as a primary focus is a very good thing. If you look into the post WWII Japan and post Korean War of South Korea, their governments focused on supporting STEM education. There is a focus on National history, which I firmly believe is an important educational topic, however the majority of focus is on the harder sciences. If ever there was a more poignant display of what it takes to make a country a success, one need look no further than Japan and Korea. Both of these countries evolved in a shockingly short period of time from third world agrarian societies with incredible poverty, to scientific and economic powerhouses. A huge part of MAGA is to rebuild the core of success and meritocracy that makes the potential of all those who seek it possible. The fact that some people succeed and some people fail, should have nothing to do with family name or money, but principally on work ethic, talent and moral fiber. The question of where Musk lands on what color hat he wears is extremely debatable, however I choose to reserve judgment until the credits roll.

If it is still built on the current model of "school" and if civics, ethics, philisophy, and the moral and spiritual fiber of man are not the main focus

Then it is the same as any other woke school. Singular focuses for multifaceted beings never work. Also this is the genius who wants to advance AI and robotics, but look he still wants to train wage slaves.

This shows his true colors more than anything. Not in on the plan, not on Q, and not confronted by Christ yet.

TRADE SCHOOLS! WE NEED HIGH SCHOOLS TO PROMOTE TRADES! Look at what Germany does for its high school students and trades its great! Also I think we need to adopt a better form of teaching teachers, I forget which Nordic country does it but they have a special college for teachers only and their degree is very hard to get. it makes all teachers take acting classes so that they know how to keep a class engaged. If America is melting pot, lets take the best ideas from the rest of the World.

Unfortunately no. After 20 years living on the poor side of Smuggler's Notch I have returned to the Mid-west. I had forgotten how more approachable and mostly conservative people were here, outside of the college towns and the big cities. Without which we would have more red governments. Still, I love Vermont for the mostly rural landscape and small town feel. The fabulous cycling, hiking and skiing is a bonus.

I never had occasion to partake in Canada's healthcare, so I can't compare. But the US version certainly does suck bigly, and cost hugely. As diabolical as it is, at least we had nowhere near the pressure to get jabbed as Canadian's did, and we had better tools to fight the employer mandates, as I was able to do (https://greatawakening.win/p/15HI5zPGdS/using-common-law-against-company/). Kind of makes me glad that I lost my Quebec permanent residence.

Good luck with your forthcoming New England adventures. You can take heart that this year must so far, be a miserable ski year. Hoist a Bud Light to me from a bar in Stowe once you make the move.

I think it should be illegal for our universities to have any foreigners.

Why are we not educating our own?

Why are we not investing in our own people and our own country?

Why are we educating people who want to destroy us?

Why are we educating people to compete against our country?
