Leave it to the French to support the Nazi Ukraine! Never worry though, a surrender is imminent!
The French troops did NAZI that coming.
Keke
And they got Vietnam started.
And they high tailed it out and left the US holding the bag! They started it by trying to colonize Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh was an ALLY of the US against Japan and he asked the US for help against the French to stop them from colonizing his country. Of course the US could not turn against DeGaulle since he was such a backstabber to the US after the war and yeah, the military arms complex NEEDED a war.
Looks like the French have a having of dragging America into forever wars. The French are still trying to colonize in 1960. How bold and brave of them.
France tried to regain its long time colony Indochina (Tonkin, Annam, Cochinchina, Laos and Cambodia) as did Britain and the Netherlands. The US voluntarily entered the war fearing the spread of communism.
At the push of the Military Arms Complex. The spread of communism is a cover. If the US had backed a free Vietnam under Ho, he would have never went to the communist for help.
And Ho Chi Minh was educated in the west and wanted to model their constitution on the US constitution, but the Deep State, China and Russia had other idea's.
The US forced Ho to seek help from communist Russia and China.
De Gaulle was a backstabber to just about all countries he fought with, Churchill and Montgomery got very weary about his hauteur and the way he tried to block the war effort in favor on the French. Le Grand Charlie.
Monte, De Gaulle and Patton had an ego problem but Patton had no problem leading from the front.
Neither did Montgomery, but as for De Gaulle?
Don't remember where, but I heard on some podcast that the reason Macron is doing this, is that France was kicked out of an African country (Niger?), and he was afraid the Foreign Legion would return to France and topple him.
Wouldn't that be a hoot! Keke
Upvote!
Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time
They will fart in Russia's general direction.
War has changed, while most militaries are still fighting previous wars... as always. Constant surveillance (drones, aircraft, satellites) is a game changer.
Basically it comes down to:
it is guaranteed you will be observed on the battlefield no matter what "camouflage" you try to use, and
you will have various types of bombs dropped on your head shortly after being observed. Tanks, APC's, conventional troops, etc. are all sitting ducks as soon as they enter a battlefield.
If you read the article, it mentions that the troops being sent specialize in surveillance and artillery...
Battles fought from computer rooms around the world! Ground troops = fodder!
Not good.
For whom? 🤔
Anyone who values human life.
Ho Chi Min agrees
France
Sending Legionaries doesn't excatly qualify. France sent them because they don't want to actually send Frenchmen to die in a foreign land. This is just another case of virtue signaling.
also the legion does their dirty work.
the legion does some nasty work, there's a reason all the African countries are kicking the French out
At this stage, France is the perfect ally. They know how to retreat.
Sort of like Vietnam?
That’s a shame. I feel for their families. I’m sure none of them want to be headed towards the meat grinder. And Russia has said that they will be prioritized targets. Good young men. All this sucks.
Most Legionaires don't have wives or children. Maybe the officers do, as they're all French born citizens, but if I remember correctly, to be a member of the Foreign Legion, you can't be married. It is illegal for any Legionnaire to enter domestic French soil, too.
The troops are not French. But if they serve well enough they can apply for and receive citizenship.
Would be good for all of the migrants that flooded Europe over the past few years be required to serve 4 years if they wish to remain. Else, float them back home.
There is only one guy on the face of the earth who was a U.S. Navy seal and a French Foreign Legion soldier... Taylor Cavanaugh
They get that on retirement.... I believe 12 or 15 years.
We probably shouldn't be making too many French jokes here. The Foreign Legion is famously well-drilled and is comprised of tough men and good fighters.
This is important because it won't make much difference. The Ukrainians are tough and brave fighters as well. No, the current batch aren't well-trained. They're trained in combat, and that's a brutal teacher, but the previous two armies (the original 2022 one and the one for the 2023 summer counteroffensive) were well trained by NATO. The training and equipment are not the missing elements here that will turn this into a success.
Ultimately, Russia has been very efficiently about utilizing its satellites and drones to give crystal-clear real-time images of the battlefield. They've used that to coordinate artillery, air, and missile assets with ruthless efficiency. They've become extremely adept at killing basically anything that moves within their range that's seen as "worth killing." Anything armored gets blown up instantly. Any type of major troop movement is instantly smashed. This is why the Ukrainians have resorted to small unit tactics, sending in men in batches of 2-4 at a time in a highly dispersed and decentralized way. The targets are seen as too small or not worth wasting costly shells, bombs, and missiles to eradicate. It forces Russia to send in their own infantry, leveling the odds somewhat.
Russia has adapted to this over the past many months with aggressive use of snipers and grenades dropped from drones. Again, they see everything that moves on the battlefield, so it's just a matter of bringing in the right asset to clean up whatever Ukraine advances with.
These French troops aren't going to fare better. NATO has operated with the exact same overhead surveillance capabilities, and with the best equipment money can buy, all the latest toys from the MIC. It hasn't been enough. These Frenchmen are going to walk into a buzzsaw of a combat-hardened, combined arms force that the Russians have assembled.
They're being sent in on a suicide mission. So, I have a tough time with the French surrender jokes. If they were smart, their commanders wouldn't even put them there. They're not prepared to fight this any more than any army in Europe was prepared for blitzkrieg in 1940.
And….they’re gone.
The surrender squad?
French combat troops? 😂 fohwtbsffs
Theyre not French. France sent the Foreign Legion, not regular French Army.

Savage name
Are you kidding me! The best troops they have are the Legion, and they are not trained in this sort of combat. We trained with French regulars in the early 90's with the 82nd and we ate their lunch and we are not what we used to be. I could only imagine how they are doing. Now add Drones and thermal imaging into the mix.... I feel sorry for them. What a bunch of monsters we have leading this world. The Legion though are soldiers soldiers, they sleep in tents, lube their weapon's with used motor oil they drain from their vehicles and tough as nails. If anyone can survive there it's them. I hate being the bad guy against the Russians, damn you CIA.
You nailed it. It's the monsters running the world who are the problem, not the troops from anywhere.
There's white flags packed in their gear? 😂
Mutiny in 3... 2...
The Fagot Macron is doing his best . It will be not successful
Are they installed with rear view mirrors so they can watch the war as they are retreating?
Wanna bet we find out France is funding biolabs in Ukraine?
WHAT TF COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?!?

Wouldn’t it be a better choice to keep them home in France and let them drop their rifles there?
Micron is such a sellout.
One gets shot and it will be every country’s duty in nato to get in there
Looks like Foreign Legion. As always, I may be wrong.
Those white Kepe hats will come in handy for their surrender.
Well yea... Ukraine is France's "Feeder-line" for drugs and kids.
Inspector Clouseau is in command
A year ago, the French high tailed out of Africa. I don’t the the Russians are worried the French being in Ukraine. Probably there to teach the Ukrainians how to surrender with dignity.
Russia, just yell BOO!!! and they will raise the white flag faster than you can say Vodka.
Let's have a standing ovation to this German guy who fought Russia during WW2.
