They created a strangely messianic vibe. He caged the wild beast (RINOs), has a whip and is headed for the temple surrounded by dark clouds, where the money changers are chugging along.
The Atlantic published the image above on Twitter with this caption:
Inspired by the visual language of old Ray Bradbury and Stephen King paperbacks, Justin Metz created this illustration, which may be the first cover without a headline or typography in The Atlantic’s 167-year history.
This is interesting... I've noticed a trend that looks like has started on the CCP site Facebook saying Haitians are eating neighborhood pets & wildlife.
Trump is warning about Venezuela gangs, He mentioned Auora Co, that gives credibility to that whole story/rumor.
I don't get it, That could be a flash point where civil war begins or at least the dangerous narrative that will be used as an excuse for UN to take over.
The Clinton cabal has preyed on Haiti for decades.
FB & The Clinton machine may be trying to paint Haitians as insane beasts so no one will believe what they will soon be revealing about their cabal-crime-ring?
The dumb dumbs on the Atlantic staff think it's a nod to Stephen King kek.
Anyone with basic knowledge of 19c American literature can see immediately that this is steeped in 19c Hawthornian/Melvillian/Poe-ean dark gothic (what's the word for these guys? It escapes me, but they were the anti-transcendentalists. Professor Griffin forgive me!).
Ironically, this is what should be done to the corrupt politicians and civil servants. Placed in iron cages to rot slowly, just like the old way of dealing with traitors.
The whole image has a "quoth the raven nevermore" vibe to it. As one anon noted above, it's definitely got a Hawthornian (weird 19c dark Americana) feel.
That is a visual poem. Yea I know it's prob AI but still. The traditional party has been captured and chained, the swamp is draining, the bright focal point next to the dome topped with the statue of freedom. Yea, poetic.
50 years from now, Art History (21c American Art Survey) students will be given bluebooks; the TA will click on the Final Exam folder and open this image, which will be projected in front of the class for an hour for the students to write about - its structure, form, iconography, symbolism, and the socio-political context from which it emerged.
I love Sabo, and I like a lot of John McNaughton's work, but this image is just....it's totally different from both. I really think this is my favourite artistic rendering of MAGA.
I really don't have the words to describe this image. It's metaphysical and Carrivagian, it's like the writings of Hawthorn and Melville - and even a little bit of Flannery O'Connor thrown in. And it's just totally, totally autistic.
For me this image is the visual equivalent of the sublime undercurrent to the last 9+ years that no one in the Trump-hating highbrow intelligentsia can articulate because in addition to suffering from terminal excessively high self-regard, they are all vaxxed, blind, and stupid.
The detail would likely take a human weeks. And I doubt a "mostly liberal art community" could come up with something this good, detailed and sharp, this quickly.
This was my thought as well. Especially, since the caption on X reads like an AI query:
Inspired by the visual language of old Ray Bradbury and Stephen King paperbacks, Justin Metz created this illustration, which may be the first cover without a headline or typography in The Atlantic’s 167-year history.
It's actually a great picture. Daring to cross the swamp with the elephant in the room that has been ignored for way too long
It functions on so many levels. Why do I feel like it might be a stealth gonzo move by the artist to punk the Atlantic staff?
that, or the left just can't meme
Indeed the left cannot meme. They can only own goal!
They created a strangely messianic vibe. He caged the wild beast (RINOs), has a whip and is headed for the temple surrounded by dark clouds, where the money changers are chugging along.
Name fits. Go to the head of the class.
It feels like it says his victory is already assured
its not the elephant in the room, its showing Trump caging and holding the republicans captive and taking them where he wants to go.
double entendres speak volumes in a way that people can let in in.
It's titled**. "WHIPPING THE GOVERNMENT BACK INTO SHAPE."**
Is that a RINO in the back or an elephant ;)
I believe you are right. It's a RINO. We can't take those back to the Capitol now can we?
They even included a Trump Storm. Very nice!
u/#trumpstorm
Very nice indeed.
The red A for Atlantic seems to be a nod to Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter.
https://www.britannica.com/topic/The-Scarlet-Letter-novel-by-Hawthorne
The Atlantic is so far left, it should be called The Pacific.
Kek!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good one!
Top kek. Your lovely wit is noted and appreciated fren!
Marvellous
Your lovely erudition is noted and appreciated fren!
Is he riding in the drained swamp?
Looks like he is breaking swamp waters!
Your Daily Reminder
THE LEFT CAN'T MEME
The elephant represents the GOP. Trump has control of the party and the RINOs are contained.
It might be the first time in my entire life I get a copy of that magazine.

Rescuing that Elephant from the Haitians.

Good Point! They can turn it around at one strategic moment to "Who eats what????!!!"
Its legit.
Kek.
This.
How do you eat an elephant? One Haitian at a time.
Someone who finally brings in the elephant that everyone has been ignoring
And it represents their complete submission - Trump is going to win
which means some dude used AI to generate this, at least in part.
Further proof the left can't meme.
I find it amusing how often I have to remind myself he is nearly 80 years old
That is fantastic and disturbing at the same time.

Thanks!

dark romanticism?
That one works. Thanks fren.
This is actually PT Barnum coming to town and MAGA are the sucker's that have fallen for his show.
I love how they are dishonest about it and try to spin it as esoteric art.
PT Barnum was ahead of his time. First thing that came to my mind when looking at this was?
The war is bad, no wait, war is great crowd of libtards and the swifties that pay exorbitant money for bad music and entertainment.
At least PT put on a good show.
Donald Trump?
The Greatest Show on Earth!!!
Looks like he's off to hunt down Dracula

It is not what is in the foreground, but in the background. Look at the state of affairs after 4 years commie-blues ...
8 years of Obama, 4 years of Bidens cabal, and Trump gets all the blame. Toss in 8 years of Clinton too
Then elephant should be white and he should be riding it while rino shit falls out of its ass.
wonder what kind of bird that is
It looks like a crow.

Think it has too much lighter color and belly and top of wing to be crow.
Is there an original without the Atlantic logo out there somewhere?

It's our "Death of Marat."

Thank you fren
Are they trying to say "The Circus is coming back into town" here? Have they not seent he last 4 years? hahahahah.
Through the storm, dark to light.
Boomerang! This is Great!

Ai was definitely used in some capacity. You can start with a rough sketch then use ai to add all the detail. All the illustrators are using it now.
Like you said it would take weeks to create an image like this using traditional methods, and Ai can do it in a day.
Steve jobs lefty wife owns the atlantic
Should be deep state scum behind those bars
This deserves NCSWIC sticker because the people of the Atlantic and the whole swamp in general no they cannot stop him from getting there.
The great O'MAGA RED. (nod to the marvel mutant Omega Red)
Birds carry symbolism in paintings. A bird perched on a branch represents the longing for freedom.
Demonrat Hunter T
They're showing what he's trying to do ... but saying the Black Crow/Raven of death is above him to stop him.
Just needs a lion riding with him up front.
