Not really. I had a Rav4 which is close to the same size as a Tesla model Y. 1500 Chevy Siverado. That of course was a truck so not the same thing. The Rav4 was a pretty good car. I have a 22 Ford Maverick which is a car with a truck bed. That's kind a nice because I do not need a full truck anymore.
The car is a dream to drive. I charge it at home with no problems unless I am going on a big trip. I went on a 2000 mile trip (1000 each way) Using superchargers was no problem at all. 10 to 20 minutes at a charger. No big deal, it was enough time to hit the bathroom and get a snack. Then I can go 200-250 miles before the next charge. I'm fine with that. I am ready to get out of the car after 3 1/2 hours of driving anyway. I don't know about other EVs but I am sold on Tesla. The Self driving is amazing.
I would have said the same thing last year. I was totally against EVs. Then I took a Tesla for a test drive. The FSD is remarkable. The car is a joy to drive. A new update in coming next week FSD14 (I have FSD13 now). Two weeks after that update there is another update which will be FSD 14.1 then a couple of weeks later FSD 14.2 They are claiming that FSD14.2 will almost feel sentient.
Did you ask or Did the salesman tell you how long the battery will last?????
VERY IMPORTANT...the battery sits in the MIDDLE OF THE CAR (i.e. PASSENGER CABIN) to give the car better stability ALSO DID YOU ASK WHAT THE PRICE OF NEW BATTERY WAS????
Remember that Rivian truck that had a tiny bump in the rear corner and they proposed $40,000 to change batteries and fix it?

On top of that, ask who can service the car. It still needs repairs as there are moving parts. What about simple fender benders, can you go to just any body shop?
The battery has an 8 year warranty. The battery is under the car. I charge at home 99% of the time. I get about 4 miles for 15 cents of charge (Home charging). Or about $1.50 for 40 miles. I only charge to 80% unless I am going on a longer trip. I get a little over 300 miles on a full charge but at 80% its closer to 250. Every morning I start the day with the same 250 miles available. If I think I will need more thatn 250 miles I will charge closer to 100% I heard it was between 8,000-12,000 for a new battery but I don't know for sure. I only charge to 80% because any battery when fully charged can swell in heat. Over time that could be a problem. My brother has a Tesla he bought 5 years ago. He still loves the car.
What I like is no one should force you to get a EV. Nor should anyone force you to get a ICE vechile. The Tesla is so freaking fast from zero to 60. Every once in a while I just have to floor it. I have to admit, that never gets old. LOL
I have friends with Teslas and they say the same thing. One of my friends uses his Tesla for all his short around town communing. Whenever he drives greater than 300 miles he takes his Honda Van. Works for him since he charges at home all the time.
About 120(ish) years ago, EV automobiles were superior to gasoline (ICE). EVs had NiFe batteries ("Edison battery") and pure silver and copper wiring. The machinery lasts basically forever. Electricity was, at the time, much cheaper energy than carbon. EV tech was too good. It lasted too long. All EV transportation engineering was destroyed (or at least severely restricted) by the oil monopoly.
I used to think this was the "Oil Monopoly" killing all opposition. As it turns out (as shown in excruciating detail in my lengthy report) both sides were completely controlled from day one (indeed, created by the same entity). EVs were repressed by ICE not because of "competition," but because it was most advantages by the PTB at the time.
Now (or at least recently) EVs are pushed against ICEs for what whatever reason they have. Is it because EVs are inherently superior? Is it ICEs are inherently superior? Who gives a fuck. The intentions are frankly, irrelevant. What is important is that all "sides" were created and controlled the entire time for the purposes of the same entity.
In other words, everyone pushing for EVs is controlled opposition. Everyone pushing ICEs is also controlled opposition (by the same controlling entity). It's all a scam. Keep that in mind when talking about "how great carbon is" and "how terrible electricity is," or vis versa, whatever your propensity is. There is nothing wrong with either system, both tech and infrastructure. Both have positives and negatives. Let free engineering decide. Let go of your preconceptions, no matter what they are. Both were created by the same entity as a dualistic psyop to create division, because division on "what is true" is how the world is controlled.
Tennessee - Blue Oval Plant outside of Memphis; a joint Blue Oval and Ford production facility to produce batteries and EV’s. Why joint? Because Blue Oval is not Ford. It is a South Korean conglomerate that has successfully reached an agreement to bring in 15,000 South Koreans as labor for the plant. They will bring their families as well so that number looks more like 45,000 instead of 15,000. Now, remember the Hyundai plant.
This is all being done under our noses with the approval of state and local level politicians.
I've said it before, and I'll keep right on saying it: Electric cars will always be an urban niche market, as long as they rely on batteries for their power source.
After the two hurricanes (plus the third skirting us) we dealt with last year I am not so sure about it even in urban environments. We had a fuel shortage in Florida, and one would think an electric car would come in clutch due to the fuel shortage. Problem is wide spread flooding meant you could not drive any vehicle including an electric vehicle. A normal vehicle going through floodwaters would be stuck and wasted in no time. A big loss but an electric vehicle through floodwaters becomes a fire hazard that is hard to put out and reach for the fire department.
Also many charging stations can not be used due to flooding situation.
Third, the sensitive electronics become messed up due to high winds. Even happened to my vehicles computer mother board and that runs on fuel....

Ursula von der Leyen’s speech wasn't about climate. It was a blueprint for a world government.
The message is clear: the era of sovereign, independent nations is being phased out, replaced by a top-down global regime where climate regulations are the new law.
An unelected EU chief, representing just 6% of global emissions, is dictating binding targets for the entire planet. The extreme 90% reduction goal isn't just for Europe—it's a regulatory trap for developing nations. By setting these standards, the EU and WEF globalists aim to veto the industrial growth of sovereign states, ensuring permanent dependence on their technology and finance.
Her "global partnerships" and €300 billion "Global Gateway" are the funding mechanisms for this takeover. It's structural imperialism: using climate panic to justify the erosion of national sovereignty. The trip to the Amazon is a stark symbol—globalists positioning themselves as the stewards of other nations' resources.
This is the Great Reset in action. Climate change is the pretext. Global governance, managed by unaccountable bureaucrats, is the end goal.
Carmakers are bracing for impact after the Trump administration gutted EV subsidies in the US.
Ford, Porsche, and Stellantis have all made strategy shifts, with Jeep and Ram scrapping new electric models.
Honda is the latest automaker to tap the brakes, ending production of the US-only Acura EV.
Automakers are pulling back from EVs
With the $7,500 tax credit for new, American-made electric vehicles ending on September 30, carmakers are bracing for impact.

If there was true demand for these vehicle you don’t need a 7500 tax credit. The reason the car manufactures are stopping production is because there is no demand from the people.

Dropped the transfer case then transmission. Pretty sure I couldn't do the same today.
The way I see it, the biggest issue isn't how the vehicle is fueled.
The issue is any functional system being wirelessly accessible and updatable, If starlink can provide emergency calls to regular phones via satellite then the same applies to anything else that can be accessed wirelessly.
Meaning it can be used as movement control, if they want to keep a population in place, all they have to do is brick the cars.......

probably best to lease it so you won't need to worry about battery going bad.

ALL cars are shit anymore.
I'm not just being grumpy. They're total shit.
Even trucks... and your precious Toyota.
These 4cyl turbo pieces of shit especially.
Nobody can build a transmission worth a damn anymore... super busy with more speeds than a damned huffy.
Get a good warranty. It's like $10-15k to put a trans in an F-150... the days of buying a used one at the yard for $500 are long gone...
Electric cars are ghey in a huge country like the US. Eurofags can have them and San Francisco nutjobs.

Great. Now start rolling back all the electrical bullshit
Exactly
Electric cars are fun as heck if you have a bunch of extra money laying around. I would love some ludicrous speed!
For an everyday vehicle NOPE.
