Prayers for all of the proud and brave veterans who gave their all for us. As a mother of two now non active service members, I know the sacrifice and at times the trauma military service brings. I have been on a holistic journey myself for the last year and I know how important that treatment is. My insurance, which is a state insurance program that is top notch, would not pay for my holistic treatment with the exception of acupuncture. It cost me thousands, and I had to continue to try and continue to work in order to keep it. I'm 67, and at our age the stress of having to deal with loss of services that are necessary is difficult to say the least. Thank you for your service and I pray that this will not happen to the men and women who served their country proudly. You deserve the best. Blessings 🙏
That sounds fantastic. Where I live, all the state insurance programs are either ACA or Medicaid/Medicare, and they are far from top notch.
May I ask what state this is? And what type of program it is? I'm planning on retireing soon and am looking for a decent place to live.
Well I have insurance through my job I work as a bus driver for public school system so it is insurance that the state provides employees. And you don't want to come and live where I am, I don't want to live where I am! New Jersey sucks. I ended up here because my grandchildren were here and I came to help when my daughter got very ill and needed help with my three granddaughters. I'm hoping to move out of here soon and I'm taking them all with me!

I disagree with the hyperbole thst mass suicide will happen. Those are not treatments that sipport directly mental health. I dont use the VA chiropractors I use my own and pay. Mine wont work for VA because the payout system is corrupt. This is likely a house cleaning and i bet it comes back on line better operated. Then maybe ill use them because my doc will then register and work for VA patients. Last September I went to Congressman Chris Pappas's office and told his aid everything. He even read the two response letters from DAG Young in 2018 and the FBI response letter from the FBI 2020 case. He subsequently lied to the VAOIG and told them I had threatened to blow up the VA hospital. When VAOIG called me there was also an FBI agent with him and I told them the truth. Hopefully Pappas's office aid will be indicted for filing false charges.

Doug Collins is the VA secretary. I know there was a dust up with him in the news recently regarding something at the VA, cutting something that caused an uproar. He acknowledged his mistake and had whatever was cut reinstated. I remember him in Congress as an honorable man and straight shooter. Acupuncture. Chiropractic. And Occupational massage therapy.
Yeah, well none of that was ever covered by our own very expensive health insurance either. That was always 'out of pocket'. Now if you'd had a car accident or such, you could sue the car insurance company and have them reimburse your medical therapy and such. But this doesn't seem that improbable.
I will need to check if my current plan covers it, though with the last insurance we had, via an employer, covered 20 chiropractic visits per year per person, Massage Therapy was covered partially, I.e. A primary care provider told the last insurance we had it would help. I don't recall if Acupuncture was covered, though if a chiropractor offered it, then it would have fallen under the 20 visit per person rule.
Mine partially covers Chiropractic up to 35 sessions a year, pay $25 a session what is manageable. Not sure about the others, not needed so far and am now down to once a month. The 35 sessions last year were enough to cover the initial 4times a month start then, lengthen to twice a month then, as am now, once a month (unless I have a setback and need extra sessions to mellow it out) heh.
Chiropractics is a vital part of total health care. My Chiropractor that I have used most often used to live in Ohio. He told me that when he was living there that they kept chiropractic & allopathic (western medicine) doctors together when it came to listening reviews and with disciplinary reviews. She was telling me that Ohio at the time saw them as two modalities of the same group (ie healers).
I don't know if they still do that, I just thought it was interesting that even 20ish years ago they were put on oar with each other in Ohio (where he started).
I would double check that and start making noise up the chain. I doubt that extends far beyond your local or state VA.
Edit- not that the VA is really terrific. They're still dragging their heels and won't fund HBOT at all. They do have people in place that handle complaints and get you heard if you work it right. Don't let them make you lose your temper and keep pressing.

This remedies help, but here's the thing: The VA Disability Rating System is created in such a way, that once proof of getting better is shown, the Veteran's rating is supposed to be re-evaluated to show the improvement. This is supposed to be the purpose behind the 5 yr C&P exam. If a Vet is rated at 100% or better (100% P&T), there is supposed to be re-evaluations as every 5 yrs, up to 20 yrs. Just because you get a certain rating, it doesnt mean you will necessarily stay at that rating. The VA acknowledges that some will get worse, while some will get better, and still more will see no change one way or the other. None of the ratings are supposed to be permanently locked, unless the Vet doesn't show signs of improvement.
If, after the 5 yr re-examination, there's no sign of improvement, the rating is normally viewed by VA as being permanent. Except for the 100% P&T Vet. However, the VA reserves the right to re-evaluate anyone, at any time to ensure the Vet isn't trying to scam the system.
And that's where the majority of the problems lie with the rating system. The system itself is designed to be scammed. I know guys who spent less than 3 yrs active duty, only deployed on a cambat tour once, were barely injured, or not injured at all, that are receiving 100 P&T. And I know people like myself, who didn't get the opportunity to deploy on a "combat mission," yet still saw some form of kinetic action, were catastrophically injured, but don't receive anywhere near 100%, much less 100 P&T. I'm at 60%, have tried multiple times to get an increase, and was denied each time, even though I am arguably more screwed up than others who are at 100%P&T. I know guys at that rating that really shouldn't be any higher than 10-20%, by their own admission. It's laughable to me at this point because it shows just how screwed up the system actually is. And this newest fraud investigation is nothing more than a half hearted attempt made to make it look like the VA is doing something about it.
And, in fact, I had my rating dropped to 20% after the 5 yr C&P re-evaluation and had to fight for a couple years just to get it back to 60%. All because my C&P evaluator ended up being a former Dr of mine that didn't see eye to eye with me, would routinely argue with me about my symptoms and what I was feeling, would call me a liar, and would refuse to give me certain treatments I was asking for when I first started. Eventually he was reassigned to the C&P office when he should've been fired. When I walked into that C&P re-evaluation and saw him sitting there, I immediately knew what the outcome of that appt was gonna be, and I was right. It's like he felt his whole mission was to discredit Veterans. He actually enjoyed screwing us over, I believe. He's not the only VA Dr I've had that was like that.
I think what's happening is that we're seeing an acknowledgement from the Trump Admin that the VA system is totally whacky and doesn't truly benefit all of us, while allowing other Vets to totally scam the system. So, what happens is knee jerk reactions to the scams, fraud, and wasteful abuse. And because of the knee jerk reactions, the more honest and honorable Vets are getting screwed in the process. On top of that, they use us as guinnea pigs pigs for all types of unethical medical studies without our knowledge. And we're not even allowed to sue when we find out.
All of that is why I don't even bother to go to the VA any longer. It's not on our side. We're lied to about being taken care of by the very govt we sacrificed our bodies and lives to protect and defend. When I was in the VA healthcare system, I was told by my own Drs and nurses that they believed I should be 100 P%T and would help to get me there, but that I would most likely never see that rating because they aren't allowed to be totally on our side, that they're actually told to do things in a way that will save the VA the most money, all while giving the administrators huge yearly bonuses based on how much money they're able to save the VA.
By my estimation, there's a lot of us that probably should be at the 100 P&T rating that aren't because the system is allowed to cherry pick which of us get awarded the "golden ticket." On the flip side, there a lot of us who are scamming the system. Ultimately, I think it all boils down to who is willing to do what it takes to go the extra mile. Who is willing to act their asses off in an Oscar worthy performance. Who has the mindset to be able to live with themselves and sleep good at night knowing they're nothing more than a cheat and a fraud.
Once you're over 60, everything is permanent...........so I've heard.

I was rated 100% P&T in 2004. Because I've held that rating for more than 20 years by law the VA is not allowed to reduce my rating. But that doesn't mean they won't try.
My brother started all three of these last week (accu,chiro and massage) or the week before and is scheduled out for the next few weeks. He has heard nothing of the sort so I am doubting this a 'blanket' cut off Woody.....may want to look into it a bit more....
It just started happening last week. It will take time for them to do this to all of the Veterans. In time it will come out as this starts to happen more and more. I know three veteran they have done this too already.

This does not sound like the VA improvements Trump pushed for.
My hope is this is temporary and that the withdrawal from these are temporary and a screening for possible fraud. And they reinstate it. Prayers for all vets for a speedy reinstatement.

I already reported this issue to the FBI and the Washington DC VA-OIG. I just finished leaving a voice message to the office of VA Secretary Doug Collins. I believe this will be fixed pretty quickly after I said in that message the VA is already under investigation from a former incident in 2017 and that case is being investigated for attemping murder agaisnt me.

Especially when literally NOBODY at the VA shows signs of improvement on anything. Everytime I go, its the same people from the time before except they're in worse condition. They hate us. They give illegal invaders our benefits and head of line privileges. They've cut off all meaningful care, there are no more American doctors ..... It's a mess. The VA IS the Resistance®. Whatever improvements they have made will be immediately walked backward as soon as Trump and Doug Collins are gone. They never improve too much, just enough to satisfy the VA director but always keep the old system ready to click back on as soon as possible. They did it on day one after Trump's last term ended. Right back to business as usual.

I have asked other Veterans and realized they still have their holistic care. I am being targeted because the Chief if Staff learned I already have two active FBI investigations on that VA hospital. Now they are retaliating and trying to make me commit suicide by causing my pain levels to get out of control when the pain creep increases daily until it becomes unbearable.

What is "holistic care" from the VA? Never heard of it. It doesn't sound like your care is going away, just a possible program.
Acupuncture, chiropractic and massage therapy. Those three modalities of care allowed me to stay off all opioids and all other drugs. My care was removed from me via a letter from the Chief of Staff claiming that because he doesn't believe I am improving it gives him the right to remove the only care that ever really worked for me to control my pain without poisoning my mind and body with pharmaceuticals I do not want because they cause more harm than good over time.
I pray that actionable attention will come to this. I pray that God will send angels to alert the people who can and will do something to preserve Veterans' choices in this matter. I pray that you in particular will have your holistic care restored.
