As a former 3 generation CPD it's not the police. They were all responding John P Hynes CPD chief is person who called for CPD to “abandon” ICE agents after incident. They broke into program and calls are being made demanding his resignation. These officers all took an oath to serve and protect, especially when fellow officers are in need.

Illinois is really a RED state! It's only the city of Chicago that votes blue. Most of us are Trump supporters. We have family that serve and protect it citizens, so I do care if the city burns to the ground. We don't want our loved ones getting hurt in the process. It's bad enough we worry daily about the domestic's and traffic stops, but our anxiety is over the top with this convention. They are working 14 hour days and would like my son to come home and not in a body bag!

i live in Chicago and my son is a Chicago police officer. All days off have been cancelled and they anticipate trouble. They have also called in the Illinois National Guard reserves and Illinois state police for this event. This is not our First Democratic Convention, for Chicago hosted it at the United Center in 1996 and also in 1968 at the amphitheater.
