I don't think it's a good idea to restrict stuff like this in the manner they are suggesting. The adsb radio frequency is beamed all around us like wifi signals, satellite, radio etc. Going after people publishing this radio data into a nice consumable form seems like more government restrictions.

If the craft does not want to be seen on "adsb trackers" they simply can turn the radio off in the cockpit.

Civilian craft in most airspaces have to have it on by law to comply with the FAA. Military crafts are exempt but many still use it mearly as a courtesy for ATC as they interact with civilian airspaces and airports (Radar has been largely phased out ATC relies heavily on adsb for aircraft positioning in the skies)

Heck ya. Local 'Mom & Pop' hardware stores, farm stores, garden stores, lumber yards that's where its at !

They are out there. People have to get out of their comfort cocoon and search out these places.

As I understand it, Signal is software. It requires an Operating System capable of running it to use it such as IOS, Android, Windows, Linux.

A "Sat Phone" could be describing any device that can communicte to satellites directly. I haven't kept up on tech in this realm as much as others but I don't think there are any satellite phones that have the required specifications to run Signal. They will allow the user to only send and recieve voice and texts and send SOS signals for emergencies.

Now, much like the mobile world there are "hot spots terminals" that a user can purchase for the satellite connectivity which would enable the user to use their normal cell phone or any internet device for that matter and esentially use the internet at a fairly low bit rate.

Lastly, I'm not sure if the Signal App needs to connect to a home service or a cloud service in order to funcion. If it does and the internet is out globally then the Signal App service might not work even if you can utilize a direct satellite connection to whatever state the "internet" is in at that point.

TL;DR In a round about way yes a user can use the Signal App over a satellite connection. The caveat is at a large expense for the equipment and subsequent service fees.

There are some projects like coreboot and libreboot to counter the UEFI problem. Society is based on trust though, for example trusting UEFI vs trusting contributors to these other projects. These types of projects are not for the faint of heart. Should you try it I highly suggest a purpose built computer just for that.

Regarding the CPU chips, there's nothing you can do to the chips today. Many people use a single device these days and everything they do is on it. Having multiple devices for certain activities can help a little bit I guess but it only spreads the problem out not eliminating it.

You can always obtain older hardware to try and avoid the "features".

AMD also has a form of the Intel Management Engine (IME). AMD calls theirs the Platform Security Processor (PSP) also known as AMD Secure Technology. Much like Intel's solution, it is a complete system entirely isolated within the physical CPU chip.

The Intel Management Engine stuff goes back a little further than i3/i5/i7 era chips putting it about 2007-2008.

AMD had publicly started to put their "security" solution into their chips around the bulldozer era of chips 2011-2012.

Also, modern motherboards use UEFI bios which is just as worrying as all the stuff in the CPU chips.

I think it's the title that is triggering people. One can grammatically break down the title from "Fenbendazole Links, Facebook Links, Telegram Links, Amazon Links = BANNABLE" to "Fenbendazole Links = BANNABLE" by removing commas and the other independent clauses.

A title with clear wording about affilate links being the issue, (while not mentioning Fenbendazole or anything specific) leaving the details to the body of the post maybe going into details about evidence showing bot accounts targeting fenbendazole affiliate links in particular would have been more palatable to some.

I try not to be doom and gloom. Do you need to be worried about it ? Sure we all need to be worried about tyranny.

In a normal world, this kind of bill is so preposterous it would never get out of any commitee if not preceeded by an "event" to trick every one into being ok with it (see: 9/11 & Patriot Act). However, we are in troubling times with the government hell bent on crushing their boot heels into our necks.

While the bill is scary on its own, whats more scary is the fact that 90% of Congress is technologically illiterate and this could potentially garner bipartisan support because of "China bad"

Ya that's the hook. Lots of people, because of the media, are thinking that this is because of "hush money". You're absolutely right there is nothing illegal about hush money. Most people who have signed a contract with a company have been part of "hush money" in the form of an NDA.

What might be illegal is where that money came from and more importantly how that money is reported on taxes.

All the fake injections into the economy are going to rear its ugly side efect this year and hurt many businesses. Interest rates going up means less spending and banks raise fees to offset that, people using out of bank ATMs get dinged hard in fees. Also in the 'not a bank bail out bail out' the fund they are pulling from is funded from other solvent banks so their fees will be going up to offset that.

But mainly I think its businesses having to pay the bank for them to be in the store so its a cost cutting measure to remove them. Which dovetails in the main cost saving measure most places are using these days by giving a slight discount for cash purchase or adding an extra surcharge for credit cards purchases as the bank takes a now larger cut of that credit card sale because inflation monkies run the government.

I'm no medial lawyer. No idea what kind of legal recourse you or your Power of Attorney would have should you or some one you know dies or be injured by a life saving procedure such as a blood transfusion.

However, you can have your Power of Attorney make medical decisions on your behalf. Such as refusing all medial treatment. Or accepting medical treatment w/o the use of blood transfusion. You can make the same decision(s) obviously if you are able to communicate.

It is unlikely you or your PoA would be able to convince a hospital to pick and choose blood samples in your particular scenario. Even if they did I think there are cases where a hospital was provided blood and still end up fumbling and using the wrong blood don't quote me on that though.

There are also some cases where a synthetic blood-less substitue is used for religious reasons(Jehovah's Witness) should you or your PoA want the possible life saving transfusion but want to still abide by religious beliefs.

Tl;dr A Power of Attorney or even a Living Will are great ways to have piece of mind on medical decisions when you are unconcious. Just pick some one you know will follow through on your requests - Oh and also keep that record up to date don't want an x-spouse or an astrainged family member making descisions for you.

You're not wrong although it's not immediate. This now starts another legislative process to repeal it, and in doing so will prevent the DoL from doing it again.

The resolution would invoke a legislative process established by the Congressional Review Act, which would repeal the final rule and prohibit DOL from issuing the same or a similar rule in the future. (https://www.cbo.gov/publication/58965)

It seems to happen when a president leaves US territory. It goes back to the tail number when in country at least on adsb sites; as we all know whatever plane the president is on becomes Air Force 1 regardless of whatever information gets punched into the adsb radio. This adsb behaviour happened as far back as obama maybe longer.

It was also very public when Trump was doing his rounds on the compaign trail as people tracked his flight into each airport it woudl show the tail number of the plane. Only showing "AF1" when he was out of country.

Possibly being recovered already. C6565 (https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=ae2697) is doing low circles off the coast of SC near Myrtle Beach.

I imagine there were assets in that area already for recovery/cleanup prior to the "pop".

The HBAL is something different than the chinese one.

Despite how many people kept posting it, HBAL617 is not the chinese balloon on adsb tracking sites.

Do you honestly believe china, or any one, would be so daft to send a spy balloon over the United States and throw on an adsb tracker and have it broadcast its location for all to see ?

Winter hardy breeds can survive winters just fine.

We have a 60sqft coop non insulated that houses 10 chickens just fine in USDA Hardiness Zone 5a.

you might find that chickens will refuse to walk on snow but if you clear it away enough to see some kind of ground or make a path of straw/hay, pineneedles, woodchips, etc they'll go out on that.

If your on a budget you can also use aluminum foil. It will be just as effective for blocking GPS and you can shape it to fit a pant pocket.

Pretty easy to block GPS signal even driving through a forest or a cloudy day can severely degrade the GPS signal.

Things like this product and aluminum foil are not a cure all though. As technology marches on, the chips and signals get stronger in phones and in scanners. For signals like the NFC (Near Field Communication), If close enough even with the whole roll of aluminum foil there is a chance information can still be transfered.

I thought the "ozone" hole was shrinking no?

I guess what happened is the old r-22 was creating an ozone hole, so most of the world stoped using it. In the USA r-134 became commonplace as an alternative which then phased into r-410.(410 is a blend of two! different CFCs).

Aparently r-410 has a high "potential" to trap heat than plain ol co2 does. They (EPA, IPCC) call it a GWP (Global Warming Potential). No doubt the GWP is derived by a secret blend of proprietary spices and agendas.

Nothing does what CFCs do better than CFCs. So we just ban them each generation and create a new CFC for the next generation to deal with.

*Note I am not a PhD, but I have had to deal with old r-22 appliances, fill my car A/C with 134, and my home HVAC unit with 410.

The NDAA, unfortunately, funds all the non-combat stuff of the Military on a 1 year basis. Members of Congress who do not vote to pass the NDAA are seen as hating on the military.

Consequently, at the end of every year both sides jockey to jam all their pet projects that didn't get passed into the NDAA. Since it is a Bill, it becomes law.

If the vaccine requirement being lifted is indeed added to this bill then there was likely a compromise somewhere else. Border stuff, DACA stuff, gun control are the top canidates.

Edit: esentially the NDAA passes every year , regardless what is added to it.

"... 99% of people ...".

What/which people? All people? A group of people?

One can assume it refers to every one; maybe it's more specific than that.

I have been out of IT for a good long while now but this is the result of how the nation shifted away from the proverbial "IT Departments".

Instead of CompanyA doing its own thing, they find that for whatever reason it's better to have CompanyX,Y,Z do it for them. (This concept applies in all sorts of things today; not just IT)

There are companies today whose only source of customer communication (sometimes internal communication!) is through a tweet or reddit or discord.

Except in the case, with CIS and many others, it's the federal government that have out sourced what they should be doing in an effort to "save money" or "to be neutral". These non profits or ngos end up costing unlimited money and are almost always run by evil phsycos or useful idiots.

Finally to finish the example above, the outsourced "CompanyX,Y,Z" now have so much business they become the "de-facto" thing in their field. They provide all the service, create all the tools, implement all the standards, attaching itself to everything it can.

All these "remove the homeless" or "solve the homless problem" is just people relocation. They attract the homeless with a wonderful, fancy, new, clean place for free. In a year or two, after the homeless are sufficently addicted to the new fancy thing, the place closes up and they get opportunities to goto another newer shelter slightly further away.

The old shelters turn into apartments in the newly gentrified areas that got cleaned up. ta-da magic.gif

I see the "in a 24hour period" was thrown in there.

Make NY Winters Great Again. I remember sledding off the roof of my childhood home in several winters. Nowadays, people lose their head over a few feet of snow.

Technically the Republicans do have a majority in the Senate. The two Independents in the Senate get to caucas with the Democrats. The media likes to pretend they are democrats for the sake of declaring a "winner".

When you sort all the Senate members out by party afiliation, Democrats only have 48 members, ̶w̶h̶i̶c̶h̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶u̶n̶c̶h̶a̶n̶g̶e̶d̶ ̶f̶r̶o̶m̶ ̶b̶e̶f̶o̶r̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶r̶e̶c̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶e̶l̶e̶c̶t̶i̶o̶n̶.̶

Warlock/Walker race may give them their 49th. But the majority in the Senate would still be Republican.

Why do the democrats get a majority speaker when they don't actually have a majority? Who knows ... no one seems to actually ask that question either ... but that's how it goes.

In regards to the House, Republicans have reached the threshold for a majority, 218. There are still more House races that are still going on sadly but baring any weird things where recounts or errors cause a Republican to loose suddenly then Republicans will have the House in the next session of Congress.

What will ultimately happen next year in the 118th Congress is a Republican majority in the House of Representatives and a Democrat controlled Senate either with 50D-50R with Harris as tie breaker or 51D-49R
