"Cursive is the same as cursing, which is the same as racial slurs. Only white supremacists use racial slurs. We must remove cursive from our curriculum to stop the white supremacist's mind control of our degendered youth!" -- Clown World School Board
Pocket Constitutions are available from Hillsdale College for a small fee. First one is free.
I buy them in bulk. I donate them to schools in my area. If you ever go to a wedding or funeral or a city council meeting or a school board meeting and see a pile on a table by the door you will know Im there.
I taught cursive for the last 6 years to 3rd graders. Now I’m teaching 5th - 8th (math and social studies). Not one of my old students use it, nor do they know more than a few letters. I have been asking my old students (new students again) why they stopped. I keep hearing “No need to use it with my : phone, iPad, computer, talk to text...”
I get the feeling they will sign their names electronically with their fingerprints, face captures, DNA, or hopefully not yet, a mark in which they can neither buy nor sell without it :(
You are right, I forgot how we have to sign the pin pads at the pharmacy or when using a credit card at the store. It's so sad the kids/young people are not learning skills that should still be used today. I always thought how beautiful my mom & grandmother's handwriting was, and wondered why mine was so horrible in comparison. It's because they were taught calligraphy in school.
I have to sign with a signature pad for Hippa laws (more crap that takes away our privacy) when I go to the doctor. At some point the need to save the world will probably get rid of paper.
I found out a woman I worked with had arthritis bad enough she couldn’t knit anymore. I asked her to bring her knitting needles in. I covered them with oven baked clay. I then asked her to squeeze her fingers into the clay the way she would like to hold them. I baked the clay, and got a gift of bacon wrapped cream cheese filled hot peppers. It was a happy day for both of us.
When I was in school, several decades ago, we were drilled on cursive constantly and we were always always told by every teacher that in Junior High School and beyond we could ONLY use cursive. This is how the adult world writes.
Then in Junior High they just said "yeah, cursive is hard to read, so don't use that, ever."
Always wondered why elementary school pushed us so hard when it was just 100% dropped the moment we were supposed to REALLY start using it.
My children born in the 70s and 80s were taught cursive. I don't know when it stopped. I have often thought of the people who will not be able to read the letters of their mothers and fathers or their Grandparents. And yes , I realized they would not be able to read any of the founding documents.
I was born in '88 and my little sister was born in '90. We both learned cursive in 5th grade which would have been in 1998 and 2000 respectively. This is in Texas. My sister's kids were born in 2007 and 2009, and they did not learn cursive. They were in 5th grade in 2017 and 2019....... So not sure when it changed, but that starts narrowing it down.
Well, Common Core first raised its ugly head in 2009-2010, so I'm guessing there's a correlation. Also was when districts started hacking music and arts from their curriculum.
BTW, what are you doing here on GAW on your b-day? Go have some IRL fun!
I'm addicted to GAW lol Can't step away. There really isn't much to do today..... It's cold outside, and I'm a bit of a hermit. My husband took off work and is giving me a backrub while we watch Survivor and I surf around on here lol.... pretty good birthday to me lol.
I also remember cursive being taught as early as 4th grade or so. It was a big deal if you owned a calligraphy set too. It used to be a skill that was sought after, but now it seems it's being erased like so many other things we used to consider normal.
ccp promoted simple chinese text and moved away from the traditional
now you have 2 groups of chinese people: those that can read old chinese documents and those who can't
i wouldn't be surprised if today and ebs alert came on to announce that the purpose of gov funded pub school curriculum was/is/always will be to make kids illiterate, especially in historic documents
Considering the public schools graduate students who are functionally illiterate (graduation rate is tied to funding), if it's not intentional, it's at least predictable.
Globalists agenda is to dumb down society. They do not want smart kids growing up to go up against them. Heck, we have enough stupid people in the House, Senate and Congress to deal with.
Take your children out of the daycare. Homeschool and teach them what they need. Mine's learning about God, actual history, math, cursive and penmanship, etc and then also learning other life assests like what a dollar can buy, the importance of being able to fix stuff yourself, automotive maintenance, housekeeping, cooking, and gun safety/marksmanship. I'm happy to have the lil helper learning from my wife and I like our parents taught us. A government-liberal-union "teacher" knows nothing and therefore cannot teach anything other than the printed lies in front of them.
Socialization is important but that's what hanging out and playing after school is for. School is for learning but they're not teaching anymore. The lil one has all her schooling and chores done before her friends get off the bus so she has time to chill/play/watch some cartoons. Our lil one socializes just fine.
My grandson is being taught cursive in his school but he has been moved back to printing because his cursive letters look so bad. My daughter and and I have very nice handwriting , but my sons both look like a kid just learning. I Used to have to read physicians hand writings and I could , but I can't read my son's.
That's odd because I was just thinking about that last week or so. I was surprised that cursive writing hasn't been introduced for my child. I asked my wife's brother if his kids have learned cursive writing yet and the oldest, who is in high school, still haven't learned how to read or write in cursive.
The other odd thing is, there's no spelling exercises at all. My child's teacher said my child is the only one in the class who knows how to spell words properly when asked to, because I believe spelling is vital so I teach my child to spell properly.
I remember when I was my child's age, we had to read literature that's age appropriate, practice writing within the lines, spelling and such. Now it's completely different and for English, my child have to write a report on the changes in the moon, how to operate a business and some other stuff that's not even related to English!
In case if anyone's wondering what my child is going through, yes it's Common Core and I do intend to take my child out of the whole education system here in this state, and switch my child back to traditional studies so probably through home schooling. The good thing is I've already showed my child how to do math the traditional way and the Common Core way and my child said they prefer the traditional way because it's easier!
You're waking up. Now realise they've been at this for at least 40 years, and you'll see the mountain the plan must surmount, and why it takes as long as it will take.
That's part of it. It also fosters creative thinking skills. And we know [they] can't stand critical thinkers.

You will be amazed if you realised the real truth was very close to this but nothing to do with racial slurs!

Personally went back to print because I was much faster at it, and it turns out I was dealing with arthritis even back then.
I found out a woman I worked with had arthritis bad enough she couldn’t knit anymore. I asked her to bring her knitting needles in. I covered them with oven baked clay. ...ahhh... Now that just makes me mad! There is [proof (references at end)(https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/memory-medic/201308/biological-and-psychology-benefits-learning-cursive) that cursive is good for learning. A few simple searches provide so much more... I am sorry Fren that they did this to you!

Very true.

Sounds excellent-enjoy!

And stopped teaching "government" and "civics" classes.
Wow, that is a thought that never occurred to me. Excellent post.
They want an uneducated populace that is easy to control with fear. Remember "knowledge is power"; they don't want anyone else to have any of that.

I'm studying traditional style Mandarin right now.
Writing succccccccks.... English letters are so amazingly easy to write compared to Chinese, let me tell you...
Simplified seems like a great option, but I don't want to learn any stinkin' commie Chinese.
Cursive writing was taken out of public schools here in Canada as well about 15 years ago. They don't want you reading history.
Been saying and believing this for around 10 years now.
I never thought of this but I'm convinced you're right

Aha, so there is a method to the globalist madness!
Yep
My 12 year old grandson has writing that looks like a retards did in my day. We spent hours practicing cursive. It was the mark of an educated person.
When you think about the one room school houses for farm children and all they taught the kids it just boggles the mind.
Even my 20 year old can't add up in her head, she immediately starts putting the sum in her phone and I tell her the answer before she can finish.

My daughter and and I have very nice handwriting , but my sons both look like a kid just learning. I Used to have to read physicians hand writings and I could , but I can't read my son's.
Upvoat #17.
Lol, it's so much worse than just cursive.

And most of our real history.
Learned it in elementary school
Someone should take on the monumental task of translating the cursive to print...for the children
These people aren’t earnest. The useful idiots may be, but the people planners aren’t just wrong, they are malfeasant.
I did not think about that! ?
The constant two-shun?
Absolutely agree! I've been saying this for years.
I was never taught to write cursive in school and I have no issue reading the constitution, personally.
They also change the meaning of language. “Well regulated” has turned from being ‘well maintained’ into ‘strongly overseen by the government’.
No time for that. Lets talk about anal seconds. In the THIRD GRADE.
They already did
Point well taken!
You're waking up. Now realise they've been at this for at least 40 years, and you'll see the mountain the plan must surmount, and why it takes as long as it will take.
I benefited from source material. Read thomas paine's common sense for history. That locked me in.
