I DID IT! Visited 2 businesses today without a ?. Had my excuses ready but didn't need them. No one even ask me to put one one. Whew

I wasn't nervous just apprehensive. I feel free and empowered.

I walked into my local gas station without my mask while wearing my “liberalism, find a cure” sweatshirt. Everyone to including their kids had masks on. I was hoping someone say something so I could use a funny post I found here. Let’s play the pretend game, I’ll pretend your mask works and you pretend I’m wearing one. Thanks to whoever post that! I can’t wait to use it.

Your head might be cooler than mine, but anytime someone has asked me to wear a mask my blood boils. Any thought I had about what I would say in that situation goes out the window. Very few things in my life have gotten me that angry.

It may not be easy in the heat of the moment, but try and change your focus and maybe you can avoid the negative angry energies. Instead of getting mad, try and focus on how stupid this person looks with a mask on and how clueless they are to what is really going on the world. Remember that this a person that will really need you in the future to explain what has happened. You are in the power position. I try to think of it that way.... "look at these poor people still brainwashed",

A local autozone asked me to put a mask on and I said that I can't and I just need a battery tested, I had the battery in my hands. He said he would test it outside and took the battery from me and headed to the door. When we got outside I just told him to give me the fucking battery back and I'll go to another store where they aren't a bunch of pussies. He was pissed but they didn't get my business. It's discrimination. They refuse service to the disabled. I'm pretty sure if they didn't have a wheel chair ramp it would be discrimination so it poses me off when I am refused service for a reason I can't control. I lose my damn mind with these asshats.

Sometimes I get in a mood to provoke ?. Just beat them down with logic and facts in a calm voice. In combat we would tell the younger ones if shit goes south, take a big deep breath and exhale all at one, called it breath out the stupid. Prevents you from getting tunnel vision. Maintain calm and you will have a fully functional brain pan!

I usually just say "read the box that the masks come in. They don't work, it says so right on the box"

I used to think to try that but no boxes in real life seem to say that, just that one pic that circulated online.

Prove to me that your mask works. I would say it doesn’t, my step brother (PhD) worked in a level 4 containment lab dealing with the nastiest crap on the planet and he disagrees with you. Usually that shuts them up. If not I give the example from when I was young and worked in an operating room and we had to wear special masks when laser burning off genital warts since it would carry on the smoke and go into our nares. That one throws them off.

▲ 5 ▼
– Smittyliason 5 points 5 years ago +5 / -0

I hear you. I have turned that anger into confidence. Hopefully giving others the ok to not wear a mask. I have only been asked 3 times to wear a mask out of the hundreds of times going into places, I say I have a medical condition and keep walking with my head held high. And that is in a state with mask mandates. You can do it!

That is what I do, if they ask if I need one I smile and say no, I'm good and keep walking. If that doesn't work I tell them I have a medical and that usually does the trick but mostly no one says anything.

I went in to my local gas station to find the 2 attendants not wearing masks along with the person checking out. I ripped mine off and smiled. Felt great. FWIW- I wear out of respect but have been wearing less and less in grocery stores. I don’t ever wear in a restaurant as that’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard- to wear it from the door to the table.

My favorite one was when I was going into a store and the Brownshirt at the door asked me if I needed a mask. I took the one out of my pocket and said "no, I already got one" as I kept walking. Promptly put it back in my pocket. "you have to put it on!" was the exclamation distantly fading behind me :)

Some millennial in my neighborhood tried to tell everyone how to distribute candy last Halloween (OCT ‘20). Sadly, some followed her directions (who appointed her, I have no idea ... I think of her as a “self-appointed hall monitor”), but I put out my candy in a pumpkin like I always do, but this time taped a face diaper across it! It was hugely funny, but it didn’t stop anyone from taking candy.

If we can make jokes out of it whenever we can, maybe some people will realize how foolish the whole thing is.

I'm in the city - if I did this, I think I'd be tackled to the ground, set on fire by wilhelm's antifa goons, arrested, sexually harassed by our il duce gov, then and put in a reeducation camp - all while the karens film it and doxx me so that i can never work again.

I'm amazed and angry at how obedient everyone is - and I know for a fact that many don't fully believe it's as serious as the media claims. I think they're mostly just afraid of looking uncool like a gasp red stater.

I had a conversation with a friend yesterday who is a serial TDS sufferer - pointing out cdc data, recovery rates without the vaxx, head scratchers like, why aren't the homeless piling up dead, same with airline passenger, etc. He acknowledged everything I said, but didn't want to discuss it - saying, the lockdown is almost over, vaccines are here, life will get back to normal soon.

So it's proof the lefties aren't blind or oblivious, they're just following the narrative like the TV told them to and not questioning anything. I should point out that my friend has absolutely zero idea that I voted for Trump. If he did, he never would have allowed me to engage in this conversation.

Ditto. Every time I go to Sam's I put my airpods in and pretend I can't hear the mask nazi at the door, MA'AM! MA'AM! Works every time, they give up. Except the last time when a day worker was there for some traveling show product. She thought she was helping by stopping me and pointing at the nazi at the door. I took one airpod out and the guy asked me if I had a mask. I said yeah and plugged my ear back, turned around and kept walking. Just. Don't. Do. It. Granted, I'm in Texas so maybe it's easier for me but I've only had to leave 2 places in a year. I either tell them no thank you, say ok and ignore them, or tell them I'm unable to wear one (let them draw their own conclusions)

One of the owners helped us, we had good conversation, talked about everything, before we left I said I just want to thank you about the nonmask wearing. She laughed and said eh, we probably all have already had the virus already. They probably never wore them to be honest, good people in there, even had their pups in the store!

Exactly.

I haven't wore a mask ever since the pandemic started, not even once, and I've been asked to put a mask on maybe 3 or 4 times. Two of these times, they were persistent with me needing to wear a mask and I tried to explain to them that the state's mask mandate policy made me exempt from wearing one and they said they don't care. I wear it or else. I chose the "else" part by leaving their business and will not visit them ever again.

The many times I've gone into an establishment, they didn't ask me to put one on. This is why I've been telling people on TD.W, here and IRL: Just walk in without one and see what happens. The worse they can do is tell you to put one on and you can just say, "No thanks" and walk past them. That's what I did that one time I walked into Meijer's and someone told me to put one on and I shook my head and said, "No thanks" and walked toward the food aisle. Waited a while and looked around. No one came after me to tell me to put one on. So they're just there to be the "gatekeeper" but an awful one at that.

Remember, animals are just as afraid of you as you are of them when approaching them but they will attack you when you threaten them. Don't threaten them, just ignore them and walk by. Be polite along the way and the gatekeepers will be afraid to confront you because you're too nice to be argued with.

Take it from me, been doing this since the pandemic started and I haven't complied to their Nihilistic demands.

Just walk in without one, be cool and carry on. Say "No thanks sir/madam" and smile while walking toward your destination in the store. You'd be glad you did it and realize how easy it is doing so.
