States' rights do not supersede individual liberties. The Southern states were interfering in the natural rights of individuals. The Federal Government is charged with protecting individual liberties. Therefore, Lincoln was right to put a stop to that.
We had to preserve the union in order to protect the rights of the individuals whose rights were being infringed. We needed to keep them within our jurisdiction.

Lincoln was a pathetic tyrant that stomped all over state's rights. Nobody won the civil war seeing as how everyone became less free aftwards.
