Take it for what it's worth, but if you know me I have been around since before Voat - same name. I am pretty low key I think but judge for yourself.
Anyhoo, my husband got a call from his brother, former Commander in the Navy. He is hearing that things are going to get a little crazy in around four weeks and that people should have four weeks of food and water just in case. Be able to sterilize water too. Something to do with panicking deep staters trying to block ports and food supply. This brother is really smart - many engineering patents to his name in his post military civilian career. Retired now but was literally considered intellectual property when his company was bought and sold, etc. The regular Joe brothers tend to think he's a right wing nut, and he is absolutely right wing but so am I so that doesn't really dissuade me. Not gonna lie sometimes I think he's a little out there. But he still has friends in high places and he knows people think he's nuts but feels it's important to share. Thought I should too and let people do what they want. His point is if you spend $600 to stock up and nothing happens, you still have $600 worth of food and water. If you don't and you end up really needing it....you don't.
Rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it....
That's always been my philosophy in life. Drives my wife crazy though because it makes me an absolute packrat.
Family start to sing a different tune after being stranded on the toilet bowl, without a roll. When they realize you have squirreled away TP around the house, out of sight, they are very grateful! ;0
My wife just laughs at me in disbelief that anything will happen.. either way it’s my duty to prepare so my family is taken care of in the event of a shortage.
.y whole famy thought I was nuts until covid hit. I started prepping in 2008 when obuttnugget got elected.
Same here, but i have to say, i do love it when i need something and I have it. That drives my family nuts. I just look at them and smile!
That is the “Prepper moto” drives my family nuts.
I have been keeping a rotating stock of 600$ in groceries since fucking nov 20th.
This dooming and prep is getting exhausting.
Well you still gotta eat so no harm. Been doing g it since 08
Honestly with inflation you'll be net positive if you buy food to prepare and eat it this winter. By then you might have $3k worth of food instead of $600.
Comm'on man, its just transitory! (As the money printers go brrrrr)
I had a huge urge to stock up recently, don't want to add up the receipts to see how much I spent. I usually do a big stock-up before winter but something was telling me to stock up now rather than in fall. I spent more than the 16 cents the Resident saved me, ha.
Actually, last month we had some construction done on our property and the guys doing the work couldn't get supplies from their normal sources. I ended up going to hardware stores all over trying to get this and that and had trouble finding everything we needed. I did see a lot of empty spots and when I took the last of something, I noticed it didn't get restocked the next time I went in. I see that in my grocery stores and Costco, lots of missing items that never seem to get restocked.
So there are shortages even now, before anything else happens.
In our local Walmart, there are lots of holes in the vegetable aisle, but the cookie aisle is well-stocked. They're trying to kill us.
Weirdly, hair color seems to be not being restocked where we are.
Yeah but, cooooookies hmmmmmm.
I don't eat them any more. Modern wheat is bad for you, and isn't even the same species as what we had 100 years ago. I'm trying for a 100% keto diet. About 40 pounds gone so far.
Spam!
Actually, there are a lot of canned meats and keto-friendly vegetables (tomatoes, spinach, etc). Greens are easy to grow in your yard. For your front yard, consider "ornamental" cabbages and peppers. For long-term storage, you will need calories, so pasta would be okay then. Use glass jars, oxygen absorbers, and a vacuum sealer for storing pasta.
If you're a female, imo, strict keto ratios don't give you enough protein. I stick with low-carb rather than keto.
Keto gives you unlimited protein. You can eat all the meat you want to.
Cookies last longer.
In whose house? :)
I hear ya. Me as well. It's harder to get the grown kids to prepare.... I've been squirreling away a little bit for them as well.
Omg I thought it was just my kids. They think I’m a “conspiracy theorist”. “Ok mom, I’ll pick up some extra bread...”. I have stuff set aside for them. Hopefully it won’t come to that but if it does, I will take great pleasure in saying I told ya so.
Lol. Mine are used to me by now lol. Hope we don't need it, but glad we can help them out ❤️ If SHTF.
I date fagged earlier, and I feel I put a taint on my credibility lol.
so I'm kinda keeping a profile lately. ;)
lol
We are all prepped up. But at the same time, we’ve been hearing this for over a year now, more than a year now. It’s just around the corner… It’s happening… Make sure you have food… Make sure you have water…. And here we are still waiting. All of this is getting so old. All I know is that God is in control, and whatever he’s gonna do he’s going to do. I just wish you would do something. We are prepped up
Don't forget about flashlights just in case the lights go out...
Or even better lanterns/candles
Those would be fun...
When we lose power and we bring out the candles, some people in my family will also bring out the marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers! They know how to make the best out of a situation.
Also the cheap solar lights that you can charge up during the day and bring inside at night to use, produces less heat than candles and less fire risk. And you can recharge them everyday without getting into your battery supply.
That a really good idea, thanks.
I’ve got tons of flashlights lots of batteries and a generator. I also have phone chargers that you can use AA batteries and they’re pretty cool they were from the dollar store for one dollar
Consider it this way, then: You are ready for ANY Emergency situation. If the chicken little crap is getting to you, ignore it. Everyone should have emergency stores/supplies anyway as no one knows what will happen at any given moment.
If you have a stockpile, why worry? =)
I do have a stockpile of whatever it takes to end my life before people start marching off to be deliver! So - your are correct… I am not worried! Everything is taken care of. I don’t need to worry at all actually.
So your plan if there's a natural disaster that cuts off supply lines is suicide? Seems a bit extreme but who am I to judge.
That’s not what I said. I said that if they start taking people to FEMA camps, and torturing people and raping people. Yes suicide would be a much better option for our entire family. No one should have to live in those horrific circumstances, and people should be prepared to relieve their families of that type of a horrific experience. I’m prepared are you?
But the comment you replied to referred to "any emergency situation". Presumably including mundane/less severe stuff like weather events/power outages/food shortages.
The post was referring to a family member who was in the Navy, who said that people should have four weeks of food and water and supplies. That’s not a natural disaster. I’m apologize if it was confusing. But the original post was referring to basically somebody in the military saying things are gonna get a little Squirrley. That usually means military, FEMA camps, and abuse of people. A natural disaster would be much easier to navigate. He did have enough 2A and other basic supplies to ward off people who may want to lose the property. But that being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the natural disasters it occur, and the government took advantage of that to put their plans into place. You know like… Oh look at this natural disaster… Oh… Let’s come help you. I’ll give you temporary food and shelter, and then you never make it home again. That’s the world we’re living in now.
Honestly this is just a good life skill in general. I'm trying to get better at having a full, flexible pantry that can go for many weeks as opposed to several small visits a week for fresh ingredients.
As your friend said the beauty of prepping is if you do it right you're just buying useful stuff ahead of time and it ultimately costs you little to nothing. Prepping has a lot of overlap with outdoors life, disaster preparedness, and wholesome life habits. Never too late to start and things are calm right now.
Very good advice here /.
Well written. All this is fluid. I do believe that there will be more and more disruptions nationally especially when the full AZ audit info comes out.
I've been a prepper for decades and am in good shape with food/water/etc...
PREPARE for the Worst and HOPE for the Best
There are a lot of interesting Q drops in August. Quite a few references to Haiti, given what happened recently it makes me feel like the DS will stage an attempted (or maybe real) assassination on Biden, perhaps blame it on the Patriots. Similarly what happened to Haiti especially after US agents were exposed in the plot.
1831: "Think Haiti [14:40] 1440: " BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. A WEEK TO REMEMBER. DARK TO LIGHT. BLACKOUT NECESSARY."
Then I found this post: 1925 "Watch the budget" maybe this could be an indicator to stock up? Rampant inflation maybe?
Still need to do more digging. Sure there's more than deltas to discover.
Clashes today at assassinated President’s funeral.
Recent paper maps of your area with fresh water sources marked come in handy. Basic fishing supplies and knowledge of how to properly clean a fish are always helpful too.
I got tons stocked up & in one month the garden will be full
Never stock up more than you want someone bigger to take.
They’d have to get past my AR first.
I was just thinking that last night. I'm in a city & have a garden on the roof of my garage. They all can see me picking tomatoes. I can hide the ladder but if it gets bad enough they will bring their own :/
General guideline is 1gal/person/day
This.
IDK but my husband is getting info together I will share.
Other people nearby will have the same idea about public water sources like rivers and lakes. Depending on your area that could be either a good or a bad thing. Having as much potable water on hand as you can is probably the smartest thing. You can always go to the lake and check it out before breaking into your stash at home.
You can drain out your water heater in an emergency
I find that 2 liter soda bottles or the heavy duty squarish juice/tea containers are easy to clean and I fill them and use every inch of freezer space with them. Also the lids seal good for storing them under beds, under sinks, garage etc. They say 3 gallons per person per day.
I store water in every empty milk jug, juice bottle. Plan on boiling it before consuming. Or use to flush the toilet.
When there a storm forecasted.... I'll fill the bathtub with water. It sounds silly I know, but my sister has lived through some big disastrous storms and having extra water was a big help (for flushing the toilet) ....
collect rain water during the storm
Filter roof water.
Let's talk about being prepared.....
Me and my wife have noticed that the shelves have been a lot more bare here in CO that’s for sure.
We noticed that too!
Not just bare shelves but the produce that is available is old and rotting ON THE SHELVES!
Holy sh*t I’m glad you said this, all of the fruit we get from Walmart last about 2-3 days before it starts to rot, my wife has noticed this for weeks but I’m just now starting to notice as well.
I thought our fridge was going bad or something. I started to notice this about a month ago. We get food delivery once in a while and I've had to request a refund on every batch of bell peppers I've ordered (I'll estimate about 4 orders) because they come wrinkly and moldy.
Upvoted for title
Already stocked up and ready for anything that will happen but hoping this all happens soon?
And I already stocked up on more popcorn today so I don't run out...
What kind of food do you buy? I have a bunch of canned soup but I can see that getting really old really quick.
I have purchased frozen veggies on sale, dehydrated and stored in glass jars with the silica packets that come in seaweed snacks. These veggies are great to throw into ramen soups, stews, and casseroles. Freezer is full with meat, seafood, veggies, cheese, butter and of course, some ice cream. I buy shelf milk, powdered milk, canned milk. Flours, sugars, spices, nuts, oils, oatmeals, cereals, etc. Make sure you have tried and true recipes YOUR family likes. Doesn't matter if you get a great deal on something, if no one in your home will eat it. It will go to waste. I would suggest to learn how to make breads, rolls, tortillas, etc and have the ingredients on hand. I stock up each week on items I know we use and are at their rock bottom price. Doing it little by little, rotating your stock, makes it less painful to the budget.
Dry storage foods that dont require refrigeration. Ive personally got the bottom 2 shelves in my pantry dedicated to "prepper" stuff and I won't touch it for a year. I have canned soups and vegetables, flour, yeast, salt/pepper, oil, dehydrated onions, bell peppers, Velveeta cheese 6 months max, pasta, canned tomatoes of several varieties but I think crushed is best, crackers, rice, powdered milk, instant coffee.
Maybe a spare propane tank for the grill. I have natural gas and I hope that will remain operational but who knows. Worst case, I fire up the charcoal grill to cook.
Peanut butter, canned meats - tuna, chicken, sardines, and any prescriptions you need. Protein bars and shakes
Dry beans, canned tomatoes
Pet food ... you don't want to change their diet during already tough times, if ya know what I mean. Lol
Great! Thx
Anything from the store that looks good but I try getting things that don't have to be frozen. One could look at getting bread and making sandwiches/ chips, etc
In addition to shelf-stable canned soup, vegetables, and beans, and grains (oatmeal, rice) you heat to eat,
peanut butter (I've tried other nut butters but found I preferred to just eat the nuts) to eat a spoonful a serving (not double-dipping a licked spoon), nicer with a little raw (real) honey on it, and/or a variety of nuts. Peanuts, cashews, pine nuts, pistachios, macadamias, walnuts, pecans. You may max out at 200 calories a day, regular eating.
Cans of tuna, or other meat, and what you could mix with them that doesn't require refrigeration after opening.
If you're willing to spend the money, your grocery store may have single-serving, ready-to-eat packets of olives, asparagus, freeze-dried vegetables.
$3 each but they taste good, Wild Zora Mediterranean Lamb bars. ~$36 for the equivalent of a serving a week of liver or organ meats, Ancestral Supplements freeze-dried Liver pills, Organs.
Various dried or freeze-dried fruits. Mango, medjool dates, single-serve applesauce, etc.
Some hard cheeses like parmesan can sit on a shelf for months, but I will only buy what's been sealed at the factory. Deli-sliced I bought grew mold.
Olive oil to enhance _? Soy sauce. Real maple syrup.
Canned butter and freeze-dried eggs can be bought on Amazon.
Great!! Thanks much
The problem is these posts come every few months and always “ my ex or current military person told me ...”
Thus the title of the post
lol fair enough
Pretty much everybody can afford a 50 lb bag of beans and a 50 lb bag of rice or wheat...
and some kind of sawyer water filter not the life straws ... plus a decent propane burner... will go a LONG way to not starving
having a .22 with a few hundred rounds will handle 90% of all pow pow need to boot.
Most people don’t know how to cook those dry beans. Soak, soak for a long time. And those life straws are a bad investment. Cheap, get the job done if you didn’t have anything else atm.
Agreed... also... instant pot for dry beans works awesome.... Sawyer water filters for on the run...
Alexapure or Berkey for home...
Any recommendations on which Sawyer filter?
Good call, already on that. Something is coming.
As skeptical of these as anyone, but here's my additional bit of anecdotal nonsense that's worrying me... 3 days this week I've seen large military convoys during my commute. I am nowhere near any military base and have never seen this sort of activity before.
I thought SHIF in 2008 crash when I lost my pension. That was my wake up call. I use the rule of 3 for each category:
food - store bought cans, beans & rice, packaged; pressure canned; dehydrated. water - bottled, water bricks, barrel drums + 3 methods to purify cooking: grill, campfire, camp stoves light: candles, oil lamps, generator charged etc.....
What I saw back then I see now much worse. I think the O is pulling the strings but knows time is limited.
We live by the motto - three is two and one is none so your rule of 3 is right on with me.
It always makes sense to be prepared and be stocked up on food and drink.
This is just vague enough to easily believe and go rush out to the store for!
We are low on essentials, so I guess it wouldn't hurt to stock back up but I'm getting a bit tired of the "get weeks of food and water!" schtick.
True, and not saying don't do it. Can't hurt if you can afford to.
However, there's Q#528:
I guess the question is does that mean safe in a not dead way or safe in a comfortable way. There was a time when the story was the Dems were trying to launch a missile and Trump was going to the bases to override it. I take it the mean we are safe from a mass casualty type of event but I don’t know that means there won’t be some tough weeks and if you’re not prepared you’re going to be praying for rain water to drink.
If we had to pray for rain water to drink I am sure Q would have at least hinted at it. Much more clearly than "blackout necessary" (which can mean anything without requiring preparation).
Even if nobody else would listen, at the very least Q would try to ensure that their followers were sufficiently prepared.
Read: get another case of TP and paper towels.
He's a prepper and you should do what he says.
Thanks for posting this. Haven't thought about it much since March 2020. We're touching up our emergency supplies.
May I offer, you cash on hand should be nothing larger than $20 bills. And other stuff for trade as well.
Thank you for posting this head's up.
Already ordered another 4 mos supply, which is 2 mos for two people, but that was because hurricane season is just about to start. But thank you for sharing. I have also been seeing the port slowdown pictures and the possibility of a food shortage scenario
just saw another post by a trusted source saying the exact same thing, intel coming from a 04 saying he was told to stock up and get ready .../!
I’m really getting tired of this BS. Unconfirmed stories that if people acted on would lead to food shortages.
No. If everyone acted with some sense, they would have been buying a little extra each week, and the supply chain would have gradually ramped up. Did you run out of toilet paper? I didn't. Did you run out of gasoline? I didn't. Have you had to pay a fortune for beef? I haven't. Also, because of inflation, buying ahead is better than putting money in the bank.
Exactly. We had a year's supply of stuff like TP even before pandemic panic hit.
Wow never heard of that guy but pretty scary. I just asked my husband if his brother may have just watched or heard the same thing more informally, but he said, "no he told me specifically he talked to someone he personally knows who said it is absolutely true." My BIL got his kids - also very smart but still - into Annapolis, no problem. (We were at graduation when W was just in and handed out the diplomas I was so excited to see him - yuk).
Point is, he knows a lot of people that would know. I'm thinking he may have saw the same thing and made some calls? OTOH, I could also see him exaggerating it a little just to scare us into doing it for our own good kind of thing. I guess we are going to have to stock up to be on the safe side. Crazy times.
I sent this to my sister - retired Major and now with civilian side working for military. Funny story she said the Generals hadn’t taken Trumps picture down as commander in chief...this was a couple months ago so maybe it’s changed now. Still good of them to keep it up months after the sham -
Screw it - I’m ordering more emergency supplies. 🤦♂️ I was going to get another 5gal of pure gas. We have a co-op nearby where I pay a premium but it lasts forever. Keep enough on hand to get us out of Washington without stopping for a refill - quick pit stop in our hometown, grab the fellas and head east. Destination I won’t share but it’s our last stand - obviously this is the shit hits the fan plan and I don’t ever want to have exercise it.
H-O-L-Y....
Do you know his name so I can search him? Looking for more videos of him. Thanks.
Is it Roy Potter?
Where can I find more videos from this man?
My favorite is Chinese. Sweet and Sour Neighbor.
