I live in one of the lowest vaccinated states, and since they started their "record covid cases" campaign here to scare the public, it's been working and many people we know (work and business and clients) are all suddenly getting the vax. We know this because of that strange phenomenon that occurs when people get vaxxed and have this strange need to TELL EVERYONE "oh hey, yea doing alright, so, i just got my vaccine...." This tells me that all it took was a little more pressure to get them to fold. That's not good. My spouse is surrounded by people who all got vaxxed in the last 2 weeks. Also all of them seem to keep getting the coof on repeat. My family and my spouses family have avoided it but we are all starting to feel like our community is under a "spell" lately.

She's told me some days they'd get 0 people and have to throw away all of those unused ones at the end of the day.

My employer (10,000 employees in a single site) asked us in management to gauge interest in a pop-up vaccine clinic one day. There were several like me who didn’t ask anyone because were against it. I woke up the next day to a scathing email from the plant manager saying that our numbers were completely off and that 3 people showed up and only 1 actually took the shot. As a Southern woman with a BMI of 22 who lives in one of the top ten states for obesity, I would like to weigh-in on the matter.
Traditional Southern food is notoriously deep-fried and unhealthy. Being obese carries a lot of health risks. I agree with you there, but I have two points of disagreement.

I would argue that obesity, like smoking, brings "old age" to you at a younger age. The obese and smokers age faster and die younger. They get blood pressure medication and cholesterol-lowering medication at a younger age. The health-conscious, if they live long enough, will have high blood pressure in their senior years. The obese get their health problems younger. And they often die younger. I note that the obese states have a lower life expectancy than the less obese states. The fat eat themselves to death. The thin can grow old enough to rack up health care expenditures on Medicare in the nursing home.

I dislike traditional Southern cooking so none of that sounds good to me, but nothing screams more Southern than a fried Snickers bar at the local country fairs. Or that all the vegetables will have bacon or pork in it for seasoning.
Very good points. And you're right, I was being hyperbolic. But in my defense, I live in one of the fittest cities in America (I think we won first place last year for that, actually) and am not accustomed to seeing so many overweight people as I do when I travel down south.
They also often use the term "eligible recipients" or something to that effect. So this isn't even % of population, but a moving target at their discretion.

I think they're higher than that, but still lower than reported here. I'd say 30-40% at most. I'm in a fairly liberal area so I'm pretty sure there are quite a few here that have gotten it.

You're way off I wish I was as optimistic as you but I have real world first person testimony from tons of people I work with and my own family members who have all gotten vaccinated because they told me they did and told me to do it multiple times. My entire family and work colleagues are all conservative Republicans so I know the number is way higher than you think. They just can't fully understand that all of the people in power hate us and want us gone.
I'm the only one in my family (mom, dad, brother, sister) who hasn't gotten it.
None of my kids, or my wife will be getting it. I'm very passionate about this and it's creating family friction.
