I do this. Walk right past them. They stopped asking me to stop a while ago. The one new lady a few months ago, was persistent, until I turned and told her "I am not standing around waiting for you diseased people to hurry along, the longer I have to stand here the more chance I have of catching whatever disgusting viruses all of you (motioning to the line) are spewing into the air!" She looked shocked, but waved me along. Was so cool, this older lady near the back of the line, no mask, got out of line and pushed her cart right past the others. I smiled and nodded to her. She lit up, and smiled huge!

Nice!!! I just wave my receipt in the air & keep going. I rarely step foot in there regardless.

Stop waving your receipt. The self-checkouts are inundated with cameras. Let them do their jobs with the equipment they have. Let them address it with their management. Not your job. Not your problem.

This!

Unless it's a membership store, I never show a receipt when leaving a store. One Door Troll kind of followed me saying he needed to check my receipt to make sure I didn't steal anything.

I told him to check the cameras if he was that worried about it.

When I was leaving the same store a few weeks later another Door Troll asked for my receipt and the same guy from before told the other Door Troll 'He doesn't show his receipt, don't worry about it'

Haha

This, and in stores that are 100% self-checkout, they know exactly what you are buying before you get to a register. If you throw too many red flags (which is actually hard to do unless you are trying on purpose, which is the point) then the register holds you up and summons an employee.

The stores where they are checking receipts have too many people just walking out with shit. If you see them randomly checking people, notice that those people have the typical cashier red-flags: shit under the cart, big shit stacked on little shit w/o bags, plus the employee doing the stopping didn't see them come from the registers.

WalMart is not one of those stores with value.

Yes I know, I buy as little as possible there. There are a few things I can only get there, unless I order from Amazon or drive to the big city... I would rather pay Walmart and give some locals some jobs than go the amazon route.

I've spent a lot at Amazon the last 2 years, and am contemplating going cold turkey and Amazon-free for 2022. While I appreciate 1-2 day delivery and pretty decent customer service, I really don't want to support that company anymore. Walmart is even worse. I refuse to go there for large amounts of groceries at this point due to the checkout policy.

That means no one can detain you on your way out. Just keep walking, if they stop you that's an illegal detainment.

I believe at wholesale clubs, you signed something that said you agree to having the receipt checked as part of the membership.

At other stores you entered into no such agreement. One you pay for it, it is yours, just like the shoes on your feet you came in with. Fry’s Electronics tried that shit on me years ago and I just walked on out. I haven’t seen Best Buy do it in years.

That's all nice to say and all, but before Walmart in my town, running errands was annoying, running to this store for this and that store for that, etc. There's a reason these places are so successful. They provide an experience people want. It's too bad when they go nuts or woke.

I LOVE the self checkouts. Primarily because I can group my groceries into boxes (produce dept has em, y'all) and bags, the way I want them. No more checkers putting deodorant in with cookies or spray paint in with bananas.

I just smile real big and say no thank you to the receipt checker people. Not once have they ever asked a second time. I think they can sense the outcome.

In southeast New Mexico where my brother lives. A Deputy Sheriff from the little town north of them was seen pretending to self check some items. Those items were higher dollar that the ones he really scanned. He was observed doing this on review of the security video. The door checker had made it a habit to just wave him one because often he was in uniform.

When the theft was discovered on video they set up a watch for his next trip to Wally World. He pulled the same stunt again and was caught in the act.

Everyone pays for the theives actions with higher prices. That area is swarming with shop lifters and it gets worse because in addition to some being the cops, the cops are also letting others go.

When a local business owner who was seeing repeat offenders come back again and again to his store went to the DA to complain about these people never going to court she showed him her logs and none of the cases from the cops had been referred to her.

The problem in that area is closely tied to the ethnicity of the theives and the cops.

If we, shoppers, are doing the job of employee at the "self checkout", shouldn't people who use "self checkout" get the employee discount? My brother, who works at a Walmart in Illinois gets a discount. So, if we are doing the work, we are technically employees also.

I don’t spend my money anywhere with self check out. All that does is cost local jobs just like the internet did to just about every small-town-America. I refuse to assist in killing local jobs as much as I can get away with it. We should all do as much as the same, if we truly value our communities, local capitalism, and small-town America.

Trust me, Walmart workers don't want your shit about it any more than they support Walmart's move toward 100% self checkouts, since its a bald-faced move to employ fewer people. But, it was inevitable when they started cranking up associate wages that they would be making comparative cuts in other areas.

I suggest not being an asshole to people trying to earn a living, and direct your ire to corporate. You know, the one pushing CRT and diversity bullshit in the training material?

In most jurisdictions you are not legally required to stop and show your receipt. The transaction has already taken place at that point. The items you bought are in your possession. That said, they could still call the cops on you, and the cops can ask you to stop on suspicion of a crime.

Side note: If you are at a Sams Club or Costco, then you have to use your membership to purchase items and part of the agreement you sign is that they can check receipts at the exit.

Unless it's a membership store you don't have to show any receipt. Once you pay for your goods they are yours period, full stop. They no longer belong to or are in the control of any one else. This includes the store, this is clear legal precedent and you do not need to show them anything.

Simply say no thank you and keep walking.

when i first moved to my current town, everyone was wearing a mask, so i thought i had to. after awhile i just wore it on my chin. only one time did a karen ask me to put my mask on. the scared ones are re-masking now because they are frightened of fake variants. once last summer i was going out of walmart and a worker asked for my receipt. it had slipped to the bottom of my purse where there were many old receipts. she wouldnt let me leave the store. i told her i would have to empty out my purse somewhere to search for the correct receipt. there was no place to do that. i sat on a bench crying because i couldnt dig out the correct receipt. finally a shopper came along and told me they had no right to detain me and she helped me walk out of the store. i was not guilty of shoplifting, and i did find the correct receipt when i got home. i avoid chinamart as much as possible, but sometimes theres no choice.

I've done this as well when for a period of around a week our local Home Depot tried that shit. I walked right by and said "I don't have to show you shit!", and the troll had no idea what to do. I complained to corporate and they actually responded with a per fuse apology and 30% off coupon saying that's not Home Depot policy and that they would contact the store. They can not legally stop you or check your receipt unless they have evidence you stole something.ni don't even show them my receipt. I will often times leave the receipt right there because I have that right too, but I will never wait in line twice especially once I've payed and officially own it.

Once you pay for it you don't have to have a receipt even. It's yours whether you accept the receipt of not and since it is your private property they have no right to your private property or to detain you any longer.

I already looked into it. They can not stop you or make you do any of that. It's all voluntary.

-Keep post duplication (especially from other .WINs) to a minimum. No crap, off-topic memes

-HIGH EFFORT, HIGH-INFO participation only! Please respect other readers' time. Please use descriptive titles. No URLs in titles, pls. No clickbait. Keep your comments high effort. No BS.

-No fame-fagging; no, "your" post did not get removed! Were you the original author?? Eyes on the prize, frogs!

-Memes encouraged, but no low-quality, low-info trash, pls. Excessive, low-effort posting may earn users vacations!

-Keep it honest and accurate.

-Patriots.win / Q Supporters ONLY. (Sorry, this train still has no brakes.)

-Handshake noobs will be scrutinized by their command of Q, sincerity, and respect to others.

Remember, your conduct here represents the Q movement! OUR ENEMIES ARE WATCHING! (Hi, Mike! You LOSER!)
