I think the concept of comms is a great way to get thinking critically in ways most people may not be used to or comfortable with.

Conspiracy theory. Debunked conspiracy theory. We have the nuclear weapons. We know the physics behind how they work. We have the technology to create the physical weapons, and we have countless videos that document the things being detonated.
However, like all crazy claims, there is an element of truth. Nukes are often used as a euphemism or code word for a devastating secret. If the nuke is fired and detonates, that secret is made known to the world. We have probably figured out by now that Washington DC runs on blackmail. Everyone's got dirt on everyone else and they use it to keep each other quiet and in line. However, it's not just DC. It's the world's major players. They all have "nukes." They all have deep, dark, filthy secrets on each other that they threaten each other with.
When we hear about nuclear scares or brinksmanship of this kind, there's a secret involved. Most recently, you've probably heard that Putin put his nuclear arsenal on high alert over the Ukraine thing. It was all over the news, right? A few days, it was quietly observed that Russia had made no change whatsoever regarding its silos, no more personnel, no movement in their mobile launchers. Nothing changed. Why? Because Putin was threatening to release secrets. And Ukraine is filthy with secrets.
Which exactly? We can speculate (but we really don't know):
Who knows? Putin does, and he wants to use it as leverage to take over Ukraine and clean house. He's a gangster, but he's loyal to his people, and he sees Ukrainians as his people.

I can't remember where, or even the context, and could not validate its authenticity, but I remember reading something about the Russians being concerned or should be concerned about the Ukrainian army (or some other actor) setting off a dirty bomb just inside the Russian border.
