Wayback machine shows “Kiev” as the capital of Ukraine in Wikipedia for September 15, 2020, and “Kyiv” September 19, 2020. I’m curious what changed that week?
Kyiv is the Ukrainian spelling. Kiev is the Russian spelling, In the past number of years as Ukrainian nationalism has written, so has a preference for the use of Ukrainian spellings and pronunciations.
Ukrainian spelling vs. Russian spelling. Not a new thing. Trust the media to keep us up to date (sarc). Slavic languages are like Romance languages: similar but different, also depending on whether they use Cyrilic or Roman alphabets.
No, Vladimir would still be Vladimir, because he is a Russian and that is a Russian name. Volodymyr is a Ukrainian name. Just as John is an English name and Jean is a French name. It is interesting, though, that "holodomor" has the same initial part as "holocaust," with the same general idea.
I think the point was that Vladimir and Volodymyr are actually different names and not just different spellings (whereas Kiev and Kyiv are just different spellings of the same thing).
They're different in the sense that John and Juan are different language renditions of the same name from what I understand. Closer in root language so closer in spelling. So more like Mateo in Spanish and Mateus in portuguese.
Ukrainians and Russians have different spellings and pronunciations of the same name. The spelling and pronunciation definitively tells you whether it is Russian or Ukrainian. While both use a Cyrillic alphabet, the alphabets are different and the languages are different.
But if you have laws and treaties in place that force you to stay neutral, e.g. you just exist and trade with everyone equally without participating in sanctions one way or the other, then in theory it'd be fine
There is research that Switzerland was not neutral in previous conflicts. The Bankers use that country with the cover of neutrality. Where did all the Nazi gold go? At least some went through Switzerland. The Bankers weren’t about to lose it!
I live in Switzerland. There's plenty of people here who are also concerned that our agreement to sanction Russia (no cheese for them!) breaks our neutrality.
Ah, but I think they were colluding with the Bankers to give the elites (and the Bankers) protection to hide their wealth. I don’t have the sources, but the documentaries I’ve seen and what I’ve read have put me in the camp of “Switzerland has not really been neutral, at least for a while.”
So much weirdness with Switzerland. CERN, Davos, Swiss Guard that protect the Vatican. Just things that make me put my antennae up and I trust my instincts.
Yeah, idk what is up with them, but the Swiss guard at the Vatican, Davos, and cern like you mentioned set off an alarm for me too. Why Switzerland? What is up with them historically, too? I know the Dutch had colonies, the Spaniards, the French, the Brotish, the Belgians, the Scandinavians but I never really learned anything about the swiss.
Also, I heard somewhere that they have a different sect of freemasons, for whatever that is worth. I guess the regular freemasons operate anywhere except within Switzerland and the swiss masons only within Switzerland. Or so I heard years ago. I have no idea how true that still is.
Dig into Switzerland's history, its flag, why it was formed and the significance of its old world geographical position. Then dig into what its used for modern world and by whom.
All the pieces of your curiosity should fall neatly in place.
And thanks for not answering my question. Since my historical understanding of Switzerland comports with its neutrality, I have no further curiosity when you fail to substantiate your remark.
Just annoyance. You can't spare a simple sentence to give me a clue as to what you are thinking---but you give me a research assignment instead. I'm sorry if my life does not have the time to fulfill your research assignments. To return the favor, your oblique response shows how much you are really willing to alleviate ignorance.
I'm sorry if my life does not have the time to fulfill your research assignments.
This is the key issue. You assume everyone else has the time to teach you. What of their schedules....or do they not factor into your equations of information requirements?
Look, I gave you a lead to follow. If you wanted to know more about it, as all truth seekers would, then there ya go....no problem. What I find, however, is people profess to be truthseekers when in fact they're only here to sponge off the ones who really are. You want the truth, then find it. I'll not be someone's hand-maid through their journey---that's up to them.
I'm sure that they would have to admit to the world about the US funded biolabs as part of this condition. This is why our corrupt government is throwing billions at them. They have to stop the truth from coming out. It won't work.
Russia knows this is nothing more than PR. The former Soviet Union negotiated with the West that the former Warsaw Pact members would be neutral. The West agreed to this, but they lied. All of the former European Warsaw Pact governments broke the agreement and joined NATO except for Belarus and Ukraine. Because of the high percentage of Russians living in Ukraine and Moscow being Ukraine's number one trading partner, there was a balance and its neutrality was basically the default. It wasn't until the success of a Soros-Nuland-enabled coup d'etat in 2014 that this balance of neutrality was destroyed. Ever since, Ukrainians have been pitted against its Russian-speaking population. The Soros-Nuland controlled Ukrainian government has since wanted to become part of NATO except Germany has vetoed Ukraine from joining NATO.
The UkroNazi government knows Russia will not allow them to become of NATO, so Russia has negotiated the Minsk Agreement to continue Ukraine's neutrality and to provide the Donbass population with guarantees of human Rights
and austerity. Kiev signed this Agreement. However, it was a ruse and deception to "buy time" to build up its military and to entrench their military in the Donbass for a future military assault and genocide of the Russian speaking people living in the Donbass. Outside of the Donbass, the Kiev government banned the Russian language in all of the oblasts. This would be like Denmark banning the Norwegian language in Denmark. There are differences, but the Russian and Ukrainian language are closely related. Putin knows the plight of Russian speakers in Ukraine and was patient for 8 years, but learned that the UkroNazis were planning to imminently invade the Donbass and to genocide the Russian speaking people living there. Russia pre-empted Kiev's plan and has made a military incursion (police action) into Ukraine.
Russia's current negotiation with Ukraine is nothing more than theater for a political narrative for the public. Ukraine's government will fall and the UkroNazis will be destroyed. There is no other option. To follow this course of negotiation would otherwise be nothing more than another Minsk Agreement. The backlash of joining NATO would soon be on the table again. It would allow Kiev to secretly receive Western military support. Russia's trouble would be worse than ever.
Makes sense, but first the current regime needs to be replace top to bottom.
The real issue is the current agreements and accords have not been kept, so what is to keep the Ukrainian regime from standing by their agreements in the future?
This conflict has proven that the regime continually goes against agreements (Donbas is an example),
It’s like how the current clown show of a government here continually pisses on the Constitution.
I've never ever seen it spelled "Kyiv" before this media bullshit... Or heard it pronounced keeev. Chicken keeev? No.

can confirm I've always seen it Kiev previous to this news cycle

Haha just like Vladimir Putin vs Volodymyr (reminds me of holodomor) Zelensky

I was literally agreeing with you and provided an example for you that highlighted exactly what you were talking about.
Oops. My bad. I did not mean to be ungracious. As a matter of policy, I take everything on the internet at face value. Sometimes I miss the nuance.

Can anyone truly be neutral these days?
Switzerland kind of proved that no, not really.
But if you have laws and treaties in place that force you to stay neutral, e.g. you just exist and trade with everyone equally without participating in sanctions one way or the other, then in theory it'd be fine
That's how every country should be...
Well of course Switzerland is neutral, as it is home to the rottenchilds that dont war on their doorstop.
I'm puzzled by your remark. What do you have in mind that would argue against Switzerland's neutrality?
There is research that Switzerland was not neutral in previous conflicts. The Bankers use that country with the cover of neutrality. Where did all the Nazi gold go? At least some went through Switzerland. The Bankers weren’t about to lose it!
I live in Switzerland. There's plenty of people here who are also concerned that our agreement to sanction Russia (no cheese for them!) breaks our neutrality.
Isn't that still being neutral? They will literally bank with anyone and not choose sides to fight.
Not like they denied anyone else's gold.
Ah, but I think they were colluding with the Bankers to give the elites (and the Bankers) protection to hide their wealth. I don’t have the sources, but the documentaries I’ve seen and what I’ve read have put me in the camp of “Switzerland has not really been neutral, at least for a while.”

Switzerland is only neutral when its funding both sides of a war.
Self-interested is not the same thing as "not neutral." Nor has Switzerland been in any way a pacifist country.

I wont entertain your jab, as in itself reveals much of who you are to everyone here by your own doing.
Ignorance must truly be bliss, as the saying goes. Good day.

They're probably referring to... https://news.yahoo.com/switzerland-breaks-neutral-status-sanction-143225508.html
From what I have been reading, that "as close as possible" amounts to "no deal."
https://www.corbettreport.com/putin/ A very insightful piece on the players lust for control

Thanks for this well summarised info.
I mean. I kninda get Ukraines point.
If Russia doesn't want them making alliances then at least allow the to be militarized.
Id want security guarantees too.
Should make a nuclear deal.
Theyre fucking doing it for Iran.
Makes sense, but first the current regime needs to be replace top to bottom.

They had their chance to play nation, all they had to do was not be hostile to Russia but they fucked that up.
There's an excellent, new article by David Stockman on the history of the region. It calls out the ignorance and hypocrisy of the politicians and influencers in Washington. https://www.lewrockwell.com/2022/03/david-stockman/pearl-harbor-my-eye/
Speaking if negotiators, anyone remember Canada's team of negotiators over the USMCA? Real team of superstars lmao.
"What makes a man turn neutral?"
But seriously, this is the best possible outcome. They can have the security of both "NATO" and Russia...
Futurama was ahead of it's time.
Papacy has been antichrist for a long, long time. Some excellent reading, if not already read:

Putin is more trustworthy than the US government and media. Facts.
Ok, why exactly do you find it necessary to mention the US? Why not for example Uganda?
Might have something to do with Uganda NOT being the biggest economy on earth.
What does Uganda have to do with this situation?
Exactly.
The article is about Russi and Ukraine.
Ummmm,.... cos, Biden crime family, stolen election, biolabs, US politicians' corrupt family business connections etc... lol.
What does that have to do with the article?
Does someone pay you to be this dense?
