I don’t necessarily disagree with your assertion about the moon, but your reasoning in this instance isn’t that great. There are still benefits from going to America, flying across the Atlantic, and launching satellites. There don’t seem to be as many benefits of going to the moon.
If we never went to the moon then we would be less familiar with the lack of benefits of going to the moon, and we would be more enticed to go there for the first time to see for ourselves. The fact that people haven’t been interested in going to the moon in about 50 years might indicate that they really did go there and confirmed it’s not worth going.
I’d guess that humans have been on the moon, as telescopes can see man-made items on its surface (unless you’re one of those ‘the-night-sky-is-fake’ types). The footage from Apollo 11 is fishy. The people who have theorized about a possible background matte painting that limits the distance of the rover might have a point. Also the low-g movement of people and the flag is sometimes strange. So maybe they went to the moon in the early 1970s but not in 1969. Or maybe they did make it there in 69 but didn’t like the footage, so they used some fake footage. I’m not sure.

I think it's not all that simple.
Like every other symbol comm, for a Mirror to exist, the Real must exist as well, in some capacity. Think of it like a Mountain and a Still Pond. The Pond reflects the mountains, and you can obviously muddy the waters or add waves that distort, but you aren't affecting the Truth, in that the Mountain itself had not been shaken.
So, yes, I think we did land on the moon, but with technology FAR AND AWAY more advanced than they'd like for the public to know about. So, they created a fake moon landing to show the public we did go there, but made us think that strictly 60's era technology was capable of doing so.
What technology did they want to prevent us from knowing about? I'd wager it was Ether/Aether or some other form of propulsion-less craft that would clearly demonstrate the use of free-energy systems, a la Nikola Tesla's resonant frequency devices.

The link listed isn't bad, but it shows the staggering amount of porn listed in Wikimedia Commons and a few pictures at the bottom of the page. Within the categories it can get really deep, like it really feels like someone is trying to setup a mock porn site within Wikipedia. It takes a fair amount of scrolling to get to the end. Keep in mind thats not everything, thats just some links the author lazily pasted.
It also talks about the Wikipedos too. I had no idea such a group existed and was using the Wikimedia servers to upload shit. It is definitely not knowledge to hide yourself from.
