Don't get me wrong... I think it's all bullshit. But I am not convinced that the way this is portrayed is accurate. Maybe the tweet from The Recount meant to say "symbolically". It would be a Hollywood thing to do... wear a representative pair of the victim's shoes, and then actually bring them to the white house briefing.
