People like my husband and I, who have raised our children (who are now productive members of society), would love to adopt older foster children. We have have found the costs to do so to be exorbitant.

We have thought about that too. However, many foster children, those who have no prospect of going back to their family, want to have a family more than anything in the world. That is all they ask for. My husband works in a facility where some children live and that is no place a child to grow up.
