The current limit is $15,000 (not 14k).

[Bolded due to apparent general obscurity of the following ...]

There's MUCH more to this situation than most people seem to realize.

There is a second exemption that is also always in play. It's called "lifetime (estate and) gift tax exemption". Short version (from Charles Schwab) is:

"The IRS allows a lifetime tax exemption on gifts and estates, up to a certain limit, which is adjusted yearly to keep pace with inflation. For 2021, an individual's combined lifetime exemption from federal gift or estate taxes is $11.7 million. If married, the joint exemption is $23.4 million."

That's it in a nutshell. HTH. 😊🤗

I’m no fan if the IRS, but just because someone writes a note that it’s a gift, doesn’t mean it would actually qualify as a gift to the IRS.

They would 100% view this as income for a service provided if they ever found out about it.

Why attack someone for pointing out the truth? Regardless of anyone's feelings about it or the morality of it, the IRS would absolutely consider this a tip even if it was called a gift.

Nobody cares what they think or how they may consider it.

To suggest it matters is a cunt move and will be treated as such by me. Stop caring....it only gives them power.

Bullshit.

The very REASON [they] are pushing for a cashless society is because they cannot track cash transactions on a private level, one of which is cash "tipping" or "gift" in this instance. IRS codes aside, I can tip 100k if I felt like it and IRS cant do jack shit because there's no way to track it and THAT pisses them off.

If it’s a gift, it’s a gift. Period.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– cara_c 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

If that were the case, employees would work for free and their employers could give them "gifts," so their income could not be taxed. The IRS would see things differently.

The IRS came after my business partner for transactions marked as gifts that they considered a form of "tax evasion" because they didn't think it was a gift ... while it is unlikely they would do this over $20 ..

... it's shitty you're getting ratio'd just because people think "a gift is a gift" so surely you can't be right.... when you are exactly correct. And not indicating in ANY way that you actually agree such shittyness.

The number of people who downvote just because they don't like the sound of something or think you're saying something you're not or you're thinking something you're not ... has dramatically increased here over the last few months.

People are getting ansty for this nightmare to end. Can't blame em for that. Questioning why someone is getting downvotes is GREAT way to get more downvotes so maybe I'm about to get ratio'd too...

I'm just saying I appreciate your comment. Any information we have on how the IRS will fuck you is good for people who aren't awake to the evil of the IRS ... not that there's a ton of people here like that - but there are a few.

Yes I agree with everything you said. And yes, people usually blame the messenger on this board.

I am not saying I agree with it, I’m just pointing out the reality of the IRS and tax law interpretation.

Comms suggest that, unfortunately, the Libertarian party was created by Clowns solely to divert votes from Republicans.

This was symbolized by All In The Family's cousin Maude.

"The story of All In The Family is that of humiliating Archie Bunker a caricature of a republican intended to, well, make Republicans look like racist, sexist, evil, idiots.

In this episode Archie Bunker feuds with Bea Arthur principally over politics. Whether Nixon or FDR is better. His arguments are typically sexist as you see here. Keeping the wife at home being Nixon’s greatest achievement.

She sits in his chair and refuses to get out.

Sit in his “Republican” chair – and the symbolism of Be Arthur becomes clear. A woman that looks like a man. As in something that looks Republican but is in fact Democrat.

12/11/1971 Cousin Maude’s Visit: All in the family Ranked 9th best episode in all of TV history.
12/11/1971 Libertarian Party Launched.

This was the marker for the libertarian op, trying to weaken the Nixon vote as he won 49/50 states."

David Nolan and some others founded the Libertarian Party, in response to Richard Nixon's bullshit.

They were not clowns.

However, Bob Barr would later infiltrate, and I do believe they did their best to destroy from within.

P.S. Nixon was hand-picked by Prescott Bush, 41's father and 43's grandfather, and one of the few people in history who had assets confiscated by the government under the Trading with the Enemies Act, when his bank was used to fund Hitler while the US was at war with Germany.

Prescott's father, Samuel, was a Rockefeller stooge (worked directly for John D's brother, Frank) and was also involved in shipping military weapons to Germany during WWI. The Bush family's corruption started with Samuel, and Nixon was part of their criminal mafia.

Nixon unconstituationally ended the gold standard, and generally, was a piece of shit.

Rule of thumb: If the MSM fucking destroys you, you are not in the Clown's favor. Is it possible for someone Clown affiliated to become an ex-Clown? Ask Michael Jackson. Ask JFK. Ask DJT.

What was special about this 1975 union? HRC was a key person that rigged the 1974 impeachment against Nixon.

Hillary Rodham’s 1974 Watergate “Procedures were Ethically Flawed” https://freerepublic.com/focus/news/925684/posts.

Hillary is the name of the name of the man who climbed and claimed the highest mountain in the world https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edmund_Hillary in Mount Everest. Symbolism for getting to the top of the world, hence why she was there as she got to the top of the world in Nixon.

She even asserted she was named after him. https://nypost.com/2015/11/28/hillary-clintons-million-little-lies/ even tho that would be impossible since she was born before it happened. (Meaning she was used for her name as a comm at the time)"

Nobody destroyed Nixon, if that is what you are saying. He was just part of the show, and did what he was told.

The Watergate scandal had to do with a Washington, DC prostitution ring, and many members of Congress and bureaucrats were involved.

They had to push everything under the rug to make it go away. That's why Nixon resigned -- they couldn't let the "investigation" continue much longer, which would have happened if he stayed in office.

There was some old video footage of Nixon just moments before he was to go on national TV to announce his resignation. He was laughing and joking with the people in the room, and then when they told him they were about to go live, he put a serious look on his face, and then ... "3 ... 2... 1... My fellow Americans ..." Nothing more than a made-for-TV production.

Ford was put in because he was a trusted criminal, having been the one on the Warren Commission who had the JFK photos doctored to make it look like all shots came from the rear. His assistant, Arlen Spector, pushed the "Magic Bullet Theory" (probably a CIA creation and not something Spector came up with himself). Both Ford and Spector had nice, cushy government jobs doing nothing after the Warren Commission.
