Anyone that gets an offer to now do the right thing should consider themselves lucky. No name and Poppy were presented with the only "way-out" deal that they were going to get. It was non-negotiable.

There are a lot of people here on this board who are still, as Q put it, "following the stars". They cannot seem to shake off the tendency to put blind faith in celebrities and they get angry when aspersions are cast on their idols because they DO have emotional attachments to them. They saw this costume and immediately made excuses for it because they WANT Elon to be a good guy.
It's nice to see a bit of "evidence" that he wore it to yank chains. Whatever the case turns out to be, I do rather like Elon and hope he's turned, and it's been GREAT fun watching the Twatter debacle.
The question though, is why is there the need of people here to have musk to be a good guy? Unless you know the guy personally, or he indirectly helped you through a friend, why are people so completely bedazzled by this guy, and feel the need to white knight for him CONSTANTLY? It's nearly as bad as the fawning others have with other celebs/entertainers. He didn't create paypal, telsa, and yes he funded/started/colaborated spacex, but he sure as hell isn't doing equations or engineering there. Are people so starving for inspiration and direction in their lives, they need to fill it with the lives of others who are not precisely stellar examples of character?
I have no idea. I don't even think they comprehend how silly this kind of blind faith makes them look. They're like teenage girls fawning over Kim Kardashian or something. Musk's a total stranger to probably ALL of us here. I don't spend much time responding to their outraged comments (when ANYTHING negative is said about Elon), because what can you say to someone who WANTS to blindly trust famous people?
I hope he's nice, and he seems like good fun, and I hope his intentions are good. And that's about all any of us got, methinks. Just watching and enjoying the antics!
Maybe they defended it because wearing clothes is not "evidence" of anything. They gave alternative possibilities/theories, some of which are now potentially being substantiated with links to Q posts.
Nobody on either side of this has any clue where he truly stands. It still remains to be seen. Some people jumped to "he must be a satanist" so others responded with other possibilities. Neither group really knew at the time, and we still don't. That order is also important. Many weren't giving it as a possibility, they were declaring it as the only explanation, and THEN people gave their more pro-musk theories. Pushing back against this is not idol worship, sorry.
Also, this makes me think of people saying "even if the vax is poison, you're still dumb because you didn't really KNOW back then". If people offering what is effectively a defense of Musk over this turn out to be 100% right, are you going to call them blind fanboys for being right?
Maybe, like you said, these people just want Musk to be a good guy since he just bought Twitter and are hoping that turns out well? And as such offered alternate theories on the costume? Maybe you jumping to "mUh IdOl WoRsHiP" says more about you than it does about them?
Personally, I can't recall ever seeing this kind of behavior here. Certainly not in any popular, common, and/or accepted manner. I HAVE seen a bunch of people complaining about it, though...
I've also seen some vehemently anti-Musk people who refuse to even consider the possibility that there is some good to go with the bad, and that he may be a net positive and/or flipped/controlled by white hats.
But no idol worshipers here, and mostly just see this as a way to attack alternative theories.

Trump's "because we helped him . . ." comment was clearly made in reference to Tesla - but just as clearly this is Trump's method of covering explosive content with plausible deniability.
Trump covers Elon with heaps of praise like a soda jerk serving up his premium sundae covered with whipped cream, chopped peanuts and a cherry.
Trump is right and the heaps of praise are Elon's due.

Christians have been programmed to judge outward appearances and lifestyles. Just like the government claims we need it to survive, Christianity perpetuates similar lies that without church we won't survive. Wrong. We only need Jesus. And each of us follows Jesus is our business. If YOU feel you need the structure of church, great! I hope and pray you find a genuinely good one that isn't afraid to embrace and discuss the failures of Christianity as well as the successes.
Judge individuals by their actions. Not their labels or silly costumes. Be just as suspicious of people who claim follow Jesus and claim to have found all the answers as you are of Elon dressed up like he was on the 31st. The answer is not church. It's Jesus. We don't need anything beyond Him. The true Great Awakening is not just becoming aware of the evils of government, but also the roles the various churches and other religious institutions played in getting us to this point as well.
How people dress can absolutely be an indicator of what they're like. For example, if someone paints their hair neon blue, they're probably a massive leftist tool. Maybe not, but most likely.

Your individualistic, "you only need Jesus" view is not what the Bible says. It absolutely talks about coming together with others, not as a requirement, but certainly as something good to do. It also talks about preaching the truth to others, not "leaving them to their business".
