What. Pence could have sent back the cheating delegates and declared Trump the winner in 2020. You need someone you 100% trust in that position, not a potential snake like Pence (or DeSantis).

Though I will say this. The VP of a Trump presidency could be different. Trump is a very loud personality. He could be very well complemented by someone who is quiet, but exceptionally effective, if Trump is willing to delegate power. Imagine Trump focusing broadly on the economy, foreign trade deals, defense, and national security. Meanwhile, he hands over domestic policy to someone young and exceptionally bright: nuclear energy, infrastructure repair, reforming the social welfare system, etc. The presidency has gotten large enough it might be a two-man job... if you can find the right partnership, someone who is comfortable letting Trump suck up the oxygen in a room and give him free rein to operate. That person would never be DeSantis or Lake, but it could be done.

One of the things I find most inspiring about Lake is the former positions and views she had. Where she came from, and where she is now.
