In S. Carolina there is a park where people go and leave painted rocks in the park for others to find...it is a blessing to bless others with a gift. Love wasn't put in your heart to stay...love isn't love 'til you give it away. You have been blessed with a beautiful gift...God bless your generosity...
Yep,,,I know exactly what you mean...me and my thoughts are besties...I add a little grateful prayer and thanksgiving...and I am good to go for hours...
otherwise my outlet is music...piano for 64 years...and I can make anything and everything with very agile, but worn out hands...a new hobby is adding music to unleashed every day...there is absolutely NO shortage of beautiful, fun or interesting music...I do believe that creativity is one of God's greatest gifts.
I get up every morning and start the day reading 3-5 chapters of the Bible. I am in the book of Ezek right now. This is my 5th time to read it through cover to cover. I don't understand everything I read but I figure the Holy Spirit will bring it to mind when I need it. I plan on reading through the Bible at least twice a year for the rest of my life and see how many times I can read it. Starts my day off right and gives me a perspective of WHO is really in charge.
That's awesome!! I understand your commitment. About 15 years ago I started reading 5 chapters every single day. I too, read them first thing in the morning. It takes me about 6 months to read it from cover to cover and then I start all over again. If I miss a day I read 10 the next day because I feel like I've made that commitment to God. I still don't fully understand some portions, but, and you've probably experienced this too, something new is revealed to me each time I read it. Once I forgot my Bible when we went to Boy Scout Camp for a week and they had no wifi. Had to read 60 chapters when I got home. :)
I collect rocks, minerals, and fossils too. Love quarts and obsidian. So many varieties of quartz. I wish I could afford raw opal, the way the colors look on fire within the stone is awesome.
Ooh no kidding - I love opals too. Another fav is fire agate! They are so alive looking when polished right - my granddaughter loves them - I got her a starter fossil selection for when she's a little older - she's almost 4 lol.
I don't think I've seen the fire agates. I'll have to check them out. I made my older grandchildren rock collections and some fossils and put them in the plastic tackle boxes. We use to go to the gem mines around our way. Totally seeded with stuff from around the world, lol, but it was fun panning. Now I'm doing it all over again with their younger siblings and having a ball.
Thats so cool! We used to do that as well in our hood. Now that the kids have grown we don;t do it anymore. I loved finding those painted rocks too. I shop online for entertainment and also go for long walks with my dog. Good for you and peace to you. Sometimes we forget our normal lives.
What paints do you use, if you don't mind me asking?
I'm getting into whittling, but the acrylic paints I got from college don't give me confidence in their longevity. I figure whatever you got that can stick to pond stones is some pretty good stuff.
Nice paintings btw! So much detail in each little stone, looks like you kissed them with Bob Ross's brush.
Aww thank you, I use acrylic but put 2 coats of rustoleum gloss ultra cover clear on them because they usually end up in someone's home as keepsakes. I tried enamel clear coat but it's fickle and can make the paint bleed or crackle if they're not at the right temperature.
There's something special about the smell of fresh baked bread at home. Try it, it's woth the effort. It takes time, but you have control over the ingredients.
There's some good bakeries out there, talk to your baker. Don't buy mass produced bread, that's poison.
They’re beautiful!! I have a small shop on eBay. I love beautiful china and pottery and hubby sells old books and we enjoy thrifting and finding pieces to sell. We often plan to go to a town outside where we live, make a day of it with breakfast or lunch at a restaurant we find, or take a picnic. It gets hard to sell something you find and love though and I have to be strong sometimes. 😀
Thank you. Oh my gosh, I would love to thrift to sell. I love pottery. When we're not working on our property my husband and I do the same thing most Saturdays. We head to a flea market 25 miles away and then hit the restores and thrift on the way home, stopping for lunch along the way. I have a half acre of intricate flower beds with winding paths and a koi pond so we're always looking for out side statuary and benches. My husband is good at selling stuff because his family use to buy and resell to make ends meet. I'm more the type, "Oh you like that, here you can have it," lol. I would have to be the finder and he would definitely have to be the seller.
How beautiful! I paint rocks as well but mine are abstract. I love doing it and I've stopped for a while because my studio is outside.
I'm going to bring some paints into my dining room until Spring. Thank you for reminding me. I'm wasting waaay too much time online on news.
3D Printing, Painting, Planted Fish Keeping, Digital Art, Tattoos. Gardening.
I do a lot of sculpture work for painting, as well as portrait in a few forms. My hands are old, so I've moved toward painting sculptures more. I still do digital art, and an occasional tattoo.
I do some circuitry and chemistry. I love anything biology.
I train martial arts despite having spinal fusion, shoulder reconstructions, facial reconstruction. I'm about to get a nerve implant leading to my cervical and sacroiliac areas, still gonna be on the mats.
Wow! 54 years!! I wish I could play guitar. I tried it a couple of times but the commitment wasn't there. It didn't come naturally to me so I just stopped trying.
Oh the classics! My brother in law believes when you're listening to classical music you should be seated, eyes closed, and nothing moves but your hands.
Precisely. In the right environment, especially with Mozart's concertos, it's practically as if the pieces are talking to each other. One of the joys of my life.
Golf. I picked something even more infuriating than the current geopolitical atmosphere to escape the current geopolitical atmosphere. Yep... I'm retarded.
Seems like an extreme lesson. You should check out Saguto Golf on YouTube. He teaches a stack and tilt swing. Very body friendly and simplified golf swing.
The problem is, it is a bad parody of the original creation. (I even have a parody relating to that, but it might be more appropriate to post in Christianity...)
I do landscaping / gardening work in the yard. Nothing like seeing what a bit of diligent care and feeding (along with prayer and the amazing hand of God) can do with an area of poor clay soil. Short term.
I also volunteer and do similar with hurting people. Longer term.
I've dialed it back, as I tend to do in the Winter...the lack of sunshine is pretty harsh on me, and I have to try and keep my spirits up...I play a lot of guitar during these times...and smoke that cheeba cheeba...
love it^ and have seen a FB group in our town where people are doing this, fun way to keep kids busy. And I've been learning how to use different software to make videos & designs. example; the program Canva is SO easy, been able to make memes, etc. Grandson and I even set up our own 'shop" on Redbubble:)
You are an awesome artist! You could sell a whole lot of these if you wanted to. You have a terrific gift my fren
Aww thank you.

Sometimes I just sit and think. And sometimes I just sit.

I collect rocks - crystals - quartz and obsidian are two of my favs 🥰

That sounds so fun!! No mines around me tho. I love my rocks lol
Oh no! Now they know your weakness! Won't be that hard to defeat you now! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuyZ-ExYkpQ
Lolol
That was weird and quirky.
Thats so cool! We used to do that as well in our hood. Now that the kids have grown we don;t do it anymore. I loved finding those painted rocks too. I shop online for entertainment and also go for long walks with my dog. Good for you and peace to you. Sometimes we forget our normal lives.
Peace to you my friend. Long walks and mans best friend, doesn't get any better than that.
I like to cook on my gas stove and invite all my non-vaxxxed friends over for dinner.
Oh, wait...
lol
Nice paintings.
I'm sure it brings joy to whoever finds one of these rocks. Spreading happiness.
Thank you. Yes, exactly. That is the rock painting community in a nutshell. Spread Happiness.
Dang it.
I'm going to have a new hobby.
It would be fun to hide them for people to find!
Do it, you'll love it!!!

The Heavy Body Liquitex acrylics are great
That’s cool. I bake bread and cook food. Oh, and Twitter. Makes me feel sane. And Kettlebells and lifting weights.
Bread is my weakness. Love it!!! I've never made my own.

Cool, I had to move all my stuff off the Dining room table for Christmas, but I'm moving it back this weekend.
My stress reliever IS getting on Social media and meming the shit out of liberals haha
Lol, YES!!!
Walks with my beautiful furry best friend, Louie. He's a gorgeous boy with golden eyes to match his fawn color and dark eyeliner around his eyes.🐶
Aww <3
Nice! A total 180 from Hunter. He sniffs the paint and smokes the rocks. 😂😂😂

Wow, that's a ton of stuff!!
54 years of guitar, the progress never stops. Amazing to watch it happen.
Wow! 54 years!! I wish I could play guitar. I tried it a couple of times but the commitment wasn't there. It didn't come naturally to me so I just stopped trying.
Bach, Handel, Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff for starters.
Oh the classics! My brother in law believes when you're listening to classical music you should be seated, eyes closed, and nothing moves but your hands.
What?
No. Way.
I get up and dance sometimes.
And sometimes sing along.
Nice!! lol

Awesome
Watching films and tv shows, YouTube has tons of great independent historical documentary channels.
Reading... historical research is the most underrated educational skill.
Collecting and displaying historical miniatures. I have an entire museum room and quite literally, a small army, both in scale and numerical size.
Smashing pins at the bowling alley and smashing golf balls at the course.
Music. Lots, and lots of music. Again, YouTube playlists galore... can't express how much I hate ads though... but hey, "FREE"
All quite therapeutic hobbies
I love miniatures. Wow, you keep busy. You Tube is a gold mine. :)
Are you using the Brave browser?
We have a farm and raise chickens and vegetables and bees. Keeps us busy. Only get on GAW, Twitter and TS after dinner before bedtime.
That's a lot of work.
Yes, but no boredom or depression here. 😊
Golf. I picked something even more infuriating than the current geopolitical atmosphere to escape the current geopolitical atmosphere. Yep... I'm retarded.
Lol,
...you might be. The golf pro at Charleston National tried to duct-tape my hands to the 7-iron on my third lesson... It was my last lesson.
Seems like an extreme lesson. You should check out Saguto Golf on YouTube. He teaches a stack and tilt swing. Very body friendly and simplified golf swing.
It means so much to kids that find them! A little happiness in tgeir dark worlds. Keep it up!
I will. Thank you :)
Lol!!!
Love these, they are lovely. My go to is usually to write parodies.

Thank you :) It feels like this world is a parody :)

And know the same can be done with our country.
Awesome, and thank you for volunteering. We need more true care givers in this world.
I found a painted rock in my area and it made my son's day, keep spreading that sunshine!
I've dialed it back, as I tend to do in the Winter...the lack of sunshine is pretty harsh on me, and I have to try and keep my spirits up...I play a lot of guitar during these times...and smoke that cheeba cheeba...
I find that 5000IU Vitamin D each day sure helps to reduce the wintertime blues.
And a UV lamp. They worked wonders up in Alaska.
I understand. I actually detest winter.
I am not that talented for painting😂 i just build model ships.
Oh wow, that's awesome!
Those are absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you :)
2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, whew lad, that's alot bull to wade through.
Woodworking, firearms, foreign films, mass, prayer
love it^ and have seen a FB group in our town where people are doing this, fun way to keep kids busy. Thank you. Canva, hmmm I need to check that out. I need easy.
Wow, these are nice. You do great with color selection on each stone. It's good to create, and just turn it all down every now and then.
Thank you :)
Remember pet rocks? I remember thinking at the time, "Why didn't I think of that?" Actually adorable. Lucky kids.
This is incredible!!! I love how it is something for you, your grandkids, and it also shares the love to bright someone’s day. I’m inspired!
Thank you, it's actually a world wide community and apparently has been around since the 50's or 60's I believe.
I had no idea. This is a beautiful thing ☺️
Beautiful! I play board games to get away and pencil sketch.
Awesome. Pencil is not an easy medium. My granddaughter does a lot of pencil work, and I'm always in awe of her layers of shading.
