Just had a call from my daughter Alice whose husband died suddenly in October. She is grief stricken and wants him back. All I can do is comfort her and lift her up in prayer, and hope the Lord will make His presence known and lead her back. She lost her faith when she went to college - time she returned.
The more you love the harder the pain of losing someone; I still cry for David. May the Lord strengthen and comfort her and bring her through this. She is coming for a visit so I'll see her on Sunday after a 9 month absence. Never expected her to be widowed at such a young age. Sad times.
Dear fren. May your daughter have better times than this. I hope you and her have healing time when she visits.
May her health not be affected at all by the terrible vax.
May she come to terms with what has happened.
Bless you, thanks. All things turn to the good; whatever God allows is for a reason. The comforting thought is that David died peacefully, may well have been spared a worse death. Such a lovely kind man, loved by all who knew him and a blessing to all. When one of his companies went down he paid his employee's wages until they got new jobs and found jobs for those who struggled. A prince among men, a coding genius with many great games to his credit. Huge loss.
I am so sorry for your family's loss. It's so often the truly good. We lost a friend to a heart attack back in mid-2020 and I still can't believe he's gone sometimes. Truly one of the best people I have ever known. The good news (no pun intended) is that I think it has brought his wife closer to God. I pray for her all of the time, and am praying for you and yours.

I am so glad you are able to visit with your daughter...I pray that you both will have blessed time together...I know how difficult it was to lose her husband...the death of young people in their prime has been the hardest...we have 2 such people and there is just no way to reconcile that loss.
I pray that you can witness in such a way to restore her faith...that ultimately is the only thing we have of eternal value...I know you will love her unconditionally...and that really is all that any of us want or need. Same thing happened to a dear friend in September. 38 yo healthy father of three, gone in 3 days from "pneumonia" and turbo cancer. 3 days!

There is a lot we can't understand this side of eternity. I still trust and believe that God is good.
Prayers for your Alice. From a conversation I had with my MIL a couple of years after my FIL passed, she told me that about six months after his passing was the worst time as it truly started to settle in. I have heard this elsewhere as well. It looks like your girl is at about that mark. It will pass, but I will pray for strength for you both. Take care.
Bless you. I think coming back to England will help, new start and all that. Losing elderly people or those who are sick is one thing, when it hits suddenly its a huge shock. David was 48 and super fit, never expected it.

Oh God. I have been anguishing over my cousins and my friends who lost their faith when they went to college. Sleeping around tends to do that for girls and this is what happened with several of them. I pray for Alice.

The first year is very hard - first Christmas, first Easter, first birthday, etc. So many wonderful memories, not just holidays, but they all make you feel the loss more intensely. At this point it's probably still nightmarish for her, hard to wrap her mind around. The two of you being together will help you both heal. You were both very blessed to have had such a wonderful man in your lives for however long he was meant to be here and share his life with you. That bond, that love you shared is still here and he'd want you both to be happy in his remembrance.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for all the blessings and grace You've poured out over us, for the wonderful people You've blessed us with in our lives, for the abundance of love and laughter shared between ourselves and our loved ones. Lord, please comfort our friend undine53 and her daughter Alice as they grieve the loss of their beloved son-in-law and husband David and let them feel the peace in their hearts that only You can provide. As mother and daughter reunite this weekend let them remember David with joy and with gratitude to You for all the beautiful love they were blessed by You to share with him.
