Don't particularly care about Harry Potter, or HBO for that matter.
But it is kinda hysterical how the lemmings toss about "transphobe" so desperately.
My sense is that Rowling basically agrees with their clueless ideology 99.5% of the way yet they want to crucify her for questioning one aspect of their current gospel, which will likely be completely different a few years from now.
For years,they all loved her yet one slight disagreement and now she's a pariah. That doesn't sound like the "tolerance" they keep insisting they have.

I'm not a close follower of JKR's antics, but that is my take on the situation, too.

Not exactly sure if she is a lesbian (she did marry and divorced a dude), but she seems feminist, or at least advocates for sensible women's rights. All of this conflict started when she objected to being called a "birthing person" or a "menstruating person" by the woke mob instead of "woman" a few years back. Her objections against placing male rapists in women's prison just because said rapist suddenly declared himself as trans only solidified her position on the groomers' shit list.

That 99.5% should be less than 50%, currently. And this fight between trannies/woke mob and JK Rowling started a couple of years ago when she vocally objected to women being called "menstruating people" by the woke mob. That is the start of the fallout between her and the woke mob.
To be honest, I wasn't paying attention to JK before then on Twitter, so I am not even sure if she was woke at all before that incident. I would need to a deep-dive into her tweets to see where she stands before all of this.

On a non-salty note, it seems that there is a small but growing contingent of Twitter users who are acting against these trans-activists. I've encountered quite a few of them in the comments section on Twitter, and it gives me hope that the culture wars can still be won.

Gender dysphoria is still a mental illness, a condition requiring psychological counseling or other non-surgical, non-pharmaceutical therapy. Winning this war against the groomers means pushing back against the groomer scum on all fronts, including cultural front, which GAW needs to work on. Undue focus on minority characters that had no real role, race-bending main characters, bet MONEY Hermoine is a black lesbian and Ron is Trans and Harry is just a sad sack worthless idiot that can't achieve anything on his own.
JK Rowling's is named one of the executive producers of the show, and she's on the woke-tards' shit list. I bet that all of the undue hate she's getting all of this time might make her a bit vindictive against woke causes. So, the wokeism might be dampered down, or extinguished.

I still dont see the point, the movies did the job telling the story just fine. Like, are they gonna put in boring shit that they cut to keep the movies from getting too bogged down?
There's cutting out the boring shit, and there's outright cutting out whole characters and story arcs, even important ones, that could've improved the movies greatly.
One predominate example is the whole bullying scene between Snape and Harry's dad. What was practically its own chapter in the books was reduced to less then 30 seconds of flashbacks in the Order of the Phoenix. From the movies, we can get a glimpse why Snape hated Harry, but the flashbacks did not illustrate how bad is the bullying, and how much Snape is fed up with James and company. It also left out why Harry's mom broke up with Snape (him calling her a mudblood in a misplaced fit of rage during said bullying session), which is a rather important plot point in Snape's characterization. I felt that, have that scene was left in, the big reveal on Snape's allegiances would have been far more impactful.
Forget the actual controversy, I'm marveling at the spectacular examples here of the truism "The Left can't meme". What a shit job they do with those

I'm just drinking in the schadenfreude watching these perpetual children who based so much of their worldviews around the allegories in a children's book series throw all these tantrums because the author disagrees with them on something. It's a microcosm of everything those with conservative or libertarian beliefs have been experiencing this past decade as almost everything we liked has been subverted and deconstructed or the creators told us to fuck off. Difference is we can just let go, they can't.
