I NEVER get my pets vaccinated! My last 2 dogs lived to be 18 and 15. My dad got the rabies shot for his dog who was very healthy and shortly after, it had cancer tumors on the face and legs and had to be pyt down.
I never vaxxed my [indoor] cat, mostly because at the time when I get her I was poor and not pet smart but she's now over 10 and has never had any issues. If I got another animal I wouldn't vaxx it, they have these interesting things called immune systems and they seemingly work well.
All I can add is....For years, I always had my cats vaccinated as recommended, until my dear boy, Lionel, started limping and crying out in pain. After multiple trips to the vet, they finally did X-rays and a biopsy, to find out that he had developed an osteosarcoma (bone cancer) near his shoulder blade, and ultimately had to have his front leg amputated. The vet later disclosed to me that there were studies that showed a direct connection to the vaccines and sarcomas which developed in some animals at the vaccine injection site. (shoulder area). Luckily he lived to a ripe old age after the surgery. Since then I have refused any vaccines for my pets, with little pushback from the vets. (They know.)
Did our forefathers 200 years ago need a vaccine for their animals? Nope. The strongest survived and when a cat died the owners were sad because they just lost a good mouser. Live like you great great great grandparents did a few decades ago and I bet you'll be healthier and have more money in your pocket. Shots for cats is a waste of money. It does nothing to keep the cat alive longer and it probably sickens the cat so you'll have to spend more money to get the cat well. But, stupid is as stupid does.
Also if it bites or scratches a Karen they can have it put down and sent for testing if you don’t have proof of vaccination. I wanted to save some dough and diy it but they told me you can’t get the tag that way.
That was the thing that got me. I didn’t have to get the rabies shot for my cat but if he happens to bite or scratch somebody bad enough then if he is not vaxxed they will put him down to run the test and I didn’t want to have to worry about that if he accidentally drew blood on a Karen.
How much do you love your kitten / cat ,, how much money and how many tears are you willing to spend at the vets for the rest of his/ her much shorter life ???
With everything that we know , you need to ask ??? Ask yourself that question , you know the answer , I realize you want support , this is one of those man up moments ! Make the right decision you will be glad you did ! My daughter and I both got puppies healthy adorable puppies, I didn’t VAX mine she Jabbed hers and had years of vet problems, different kinds of diseases, ailments etc ,, mine happy healthy and lived much longer ,, my God , chose wisely !
I have 4 totally indoor cats and none of them are vaccinated for anything. Indoor cats live longer than outdoor cats..they are cleaner...safer...no fleas...win/win for everyone...
FWIW - over 45 years on my parents' farm, there were numerous verified rabid skinks and raccoons in the "common areas", but none of the many un-rabies-vaccinated (mostly tame) cats ever contracted the disease. Also never heard neighbors, relatives or acquaintances - whose farm cats generally never saw a vet - talk about cats with rabies, either.
So, 'am wondering how many cases of feline rabies there actually are because cats may be smart enough and more able (by climbing, jumping, running, hiding and squeezing through small places) to get away from aggressive or strange-acting rabid animals, whereas other animals, like dogs, may be more likely to interact with them(?)
My dogs ( 11,10,8, and 6 ) have had the rabies and their lepto shots, that's it.
My cats, they are what's left of our former harem lol. None were ever vaxxed for anything - but they never went outside unmonitored. Average age was 14. One lived to 18. The three left are his kids. 17, 18, and my old girl just turned 20. Funnily enough, not one of these three have ever been to a vet.
Were done vaccinating our animals. Cats are indoors and havent had one in like 7 years now. Dog was due this year but no more. Its become big business for the vets. Same big business model as humans IMO.
Almost a non existent issue but they keep pumping in more vaccines. I read a article many years ago and that vet said once they get there first shot it should be good for life. Not to keep getting them!
Talk to your Grandparents. Most didnt have vets and when animals got sick they died and you got another one. No overpopulation and no need for running into the vet every year.
Purdue veterinarian education actually published some study on how animals are jabbed too frequently and don't need annual jabs as recommended. I only do our dogs rabies, as required to own in our state, but the kids show dog for 4h (ironically managed by purdue) and they require a host of jabs for dogs to show. Makes me upset as it's good for my kids, the dogs actually learn alot but I think rabies should be the only thing required. Same with horses. Annual jabs required to show 4h. Funny thing was Purdue listed all kinds of health issues they see in pets from jabs, which just so happen to be the same as what we are seeing in humans as the jab schedule gets bigger each uesr.
Anyway, I've never vax'd pets of any kind outside of puppies get the parvo one. Rabies is far less prevalent than we are led to believe. Bats are generally the number one spreader of that virus.
I had my cat for just shy of 17 years, and she never had a shot or a visit to the vet (she wasn't microchipped and registered with the city either). Its insane to think people or animals need injections and medications to live normal lives. They don't.
My friend took her dog and 2 cats to get vaccinated with the rabies vaccine and all 3 animals got sick right after. The cats were puking and wouldn't eat for several days and her dog ended up dead. He was a healthy dog with nothing wrong with him, but the day she got him vaccinated, he came home sick. She took him back to the vet and he started bleeding internally. Please don't get your fur baby vaccinated. I took my dog in for his vaccinations in September of last year and in November he was diagnosed with cancer. I lost him the end of January this year. I can't help but think that it was the vaccines. He wasn't old. Rant is over now!
I live in the country and my cat is outdoor/indoor I had to give him rabies all kinds of critters out there. When my cat starting getting older the rabies vaccine would about kill him, so I hadn't taken him. He was sick and had to take him to the vet & they shamed me about the rabies & I explained I don't think he will live through another rabies shot. The vet went on to say they have a new one now costs about 45$ more and it doesn't have mercury and won't cause cancer- it is easier on the pet. Well of course I gave the more expensive and it was totally different from the usual one I had given him in the past. Hope that helps :)
No vaxxes at all if your kitty is indoors and not exposed to stray neighborhood cats. IF you want a healthy happy cat...don't destroy it's natural health and immunity. But get that kitty neutered or you will really kick yourself later. **vet may say no neuter unless gets a rabies shot. I recently neutered 3 rescue kitties, I have 10 sanctuary cats here... so I allowed 1 rabies, but not the 3 yr kind, and nothing else. Ever. No bad effects from the one rabies. Neutering required the compromise in this town. But try hard to get that requirement dropped for religious anti vaxx reasons LOL
Just. Say. No. There is another thread on pet vaccines mainly dogs posted yesterday. Do a search and you’ll be convinced. We haven’t vaxxed our cat of maybe 9 yrs old and he’s doing fine with decent food.
The issue with the animal vaccines (for cats and small dogs especially) is that the manufacturer and laws don't account for animal weight. They give the same shot to a cat that they give to a big dog. My local vet started tracking injection sites for the mandatory shots and found a correlation that many of the animals developed tumors in those sites, frequently requiring amputation or surgery later in life to save the animal.
It's the same for many of the tick and flea treatments where you dump that pod on the back of their neck. If one pod can cover a 100lb dog, why do they recommend the same whole pod for a 10lb cat?
I've had many cats in my life. Some went to the vet but most didn't unless they were sick. I don't think taking an animal to the vet was as routine back in the 70s - 90s. We only took most for spay/neuter or sick. The cat I had on my own and the longest almost died from the rabies shot. She was a few months old and was acting weird. She didn't know us and was was hissing in a defensive way. She stayed in the hospital about three nights. After that I didn't do more shots. It was probably a rare occurrence but will never know. Good luck
gave my kitten shots, i have two cats that got them one was fine, one almost died in the vet office. .. rabies is mandated by law, which i think is stupid considering they are indoor cats.
Due to the COVID scamdemic I’m now more convinced than ever that just about ALL vaccines are loaded with ingredients that can cause adverse and chronic health issues, regardless if it’s for humans or animals.
If we were to do it all over again, I don’t think we would’ve gotten our cats vaccinated at all. One has allergy problems and is slightly asthmatic and the other one has been dealing with cancer. I honestly believe that their vaccines played a role in their ailments.
The only possible factor that might have a say in your decision to (partially) vaccinate is if your cat is going to be mostly outdoors and whether it’ll likely encounter other cats and wild animals while outdoors. If “no” to both, then don’t vaccinate your kitty. Your Vet will try to pressure you to do otherwise (they probably have a similar “incentive” program with Pet Big Pharma), but resist the cajoling.
Please do your research and think (not feel) your way to the proper decision.
I had a german shepherd/chow mix that I rescued as a puppy from the roadside. I didnt know what I know now and got her first round of puppy vaxxes. After that, we treated her occasionally with natural antiparasitic methods. She lived over 18 years and we lost her just last summer. I feel the lack of repeated vaxxes contributed to her long life. Best wishes, fren.

I wouldn't trust vaccines for either man or animal.
All I can add is....For years, I always had my cats vaccinated as recommended, until my dear boy, Lionel, started limping and crying out in pain. Holy shit! My dog is limping like hell! He started right after his first set on shots!
The vet recommended a $3k set of tests done by a specialist.
Oh SHIT, fren!! That is just terrible

I have never vaccinated my cats. The rabies vaccine is only needed if you live in the country and there are a lot of wild animals around.
The shitty thing is if your kitty gets sick and needs to go to the vet. They won't work on it without a rabies vax.
Also if it bites or scratches a Karen they can have it put down and sent for testing if you don’t have proof of vaccination. I wanted to save some dough and diy it but they told me you can’t get the tag that way.
Well i don't get tags, either but if I did want them then the stupid shot is required.
That was the thing that got me. I didn’t have to get the rabies shot for my cat but if he happens to bite or scratch somebody bad enough then if he is not vaxxed they will put him down to run the test and I didn’t want to have to worry about that if he accidentally drew blood on a Karen.
Exactly! Only exception I've seen is I had a good vet and she believed me that my cat almost died from rabies vax.
True

Want to get really surprised. Look up your State and how many rabid reports there are for say cats and dogs. I live in Florida and heres our info. https://www.floridahealth.gov/diseases-and-conditions/rabies/rabies-surveillance.html

The lady I spoke to today said this is what she needs THIS YEAR. Left the door open for every year thereafter

It just has to be done on this one.

My cat, 16yrs old is a pureblood, just like me!
None.
Why do that? It is NOT the right thing at all.
Most of these pre-date MRNA.
In animal testing of mRNA they all died. I bet they keep this away from Fido, but Cows are fucked.
The lady said the adjuvanted ones have additives that could cause cancers. So making sure its non-adjuvanted.
I have an older cat. Wish I had been more informed earlier on. Seems like you are tracking stuff down well.
Best of luck!
I would do more research.
Just another (((scam))).

Give the kitten the full schedule and when it dies early she'll at least not insist on poisoning your kids.

Only get the bare kitten round of shots and then never again.
