Startpage.com is your fren, fren.
Yup. And gibiru, and others.
Yandex
I do NOT trust Brave browser. Why? Because :
Below are sources, alternatives Tor Browser, Firefox, Ungoogled-Chromium, and details for those interested
spy on you

Money-Servant
Brave browser is owned by a for-profit corporation "Brave Software, Inc.". It is not owned by a not-for-profit community. Usually a corporation first priority is to hoard money. Not serve you and protect your privacy. In other words, Brave is risky to increasingly be a Money-Servant. Not a People-Servant.

"illegal and deceptive"
In April 2016, the CEO of the Newspaper Association of America, David Chavern, said that Brave's proposed replacement of advertising "should be viewed as illegal and deceptive by the courts, consumers, and those who value the creation of content".[20][21]

"cash-grab" & "double dip"
In January 2016, in reaction to Brave Software's initial announcement, Sebastian Anthony of Ars Technica described Brave as a "cash-grab" and a "double dip". Anthony concluded, "Brave is an interesting idea, but generally it's rather frowned upon to stick your own ads in front of someone else's". TechCrunch, Computerworld, and Engadget termed Brave's ad replacement plans "controversial" in 2016.

"primitive"
In February 2016, Andy Patrizio of Network World reviewed a pre-release version of Brave. Patrizio criticized the browser's feature set as "mighty primitive,"

Once opened Brave to a default splash page advertising a bank, and the whole background image was checkerboards and Masonic pillars.
I'll dig into that. Thank you for the heads up.
I've been using brave for years and honestly, they've had some very, very questionable backdrops. I put it off to being unaware normies, but who knows.
I don't even use DDG. That's crap too.
Same here, I do NOT trust DDG
According to DuckDuckGo (DDG) CEO, since March 10th, 2022, DDG CENSORS your search results. To do so, DDG edit your search results by DOWN-ranking results they disagree with. And UP-ranking (boosting) results they agree with.
The CEO, Gabriel Weinberg, tweeted this: "In addition to down-ranking sites associated with disinformation, we also often place news modules and information boxes at the top of DuckDuckGo search results (where they are seen and clicked the most) to highlight quality information for rapidly unfolding topics."
Is DDG behaving like an editor, or like a search engine?

All of them throttle and manipulate "results"
You only see what they want you to see
Demonstrably false.
I just typed it in. Many results with no warnings.
I don't care for Google either, but come on man
duck is using the same controlling equipment like google. The equipment handlers are all family.

LOLz WTF where did you read something about semitic tribes or against them ???
This took less than a minute to find. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/09/21/duckduckgo-ceo-testifies-google-contracts-limited-its-search-distribution.html

what is this having to do with family members?
Yandex.com for me.
Yandex is amazing for information searching.
I use Yandex. I noticed they're starting to get infiltrated a little. After Yandex I use Dogpile.
Going to the oldschool I see.
Give me early 2000's boolean searches back with NO FUCKING ALGORITHM.
I could find anything I wanted containing nothing I didn't in seconds.
same x2
I like Yandex
I have dropped google multiple times and then ended up back. The issue is for local searches there is no comparison. Google gives relevant informaiton about local searches, the others don't.
This is unfortunately true. I wonder what it would take to get a search engine created that doesn't filter results & also isn't easily manipulated by SEO hackers (ie old school hack was to simply match the text color to the background color & repeat your search term you wanted to rank for 15+ times at the bottom of the page... I am showing my age 😝).
How much computing power & energy would be needed? Could be a good project.
They've gone so hard on mass internet censorship that you can't find ANYTHING anymore.
Doesn't even have to do with Trump or current events. It's just like a huge section of information just disappeared one day.
You can't even use Google for finding basic shit now. Remember when search engines actually searched the Web?
Dude my 8 year old kid told me google lies. 🤣
It works fine for me.
Completely untrue. Shows many results with no disclaimer.

Try perplexity, it uses AI to search the internet.

I don't get the same results at all - google and duckduckgo basically return the same results - seeing nothing blocked or not showing up on google search. However, I would recommend for important things use multiple search engines and check results that are missing from google especially.
I am the anti-google
Google has spent a lot of time, money and political clout turning its name into a verb. Even Oxford English Dictionary recognizes it as a verb.
That's part of why it has been so difficult to get people off of the platform. They have been raised and conditioned to think of "Google it".
I've been using this search engine in Brave. Seems pretty good so far. https://luxxle.com/about
Below are 3 alternatives to Google Chrome
Alternative 1 of 3. Tor Browser.
Tor Browser is easy to install and use. And it is by far the strongest privacy and security. But it is slower.
Get Tor Browser at https://www.torproject.org/download/
Alternative 2 of 3. Firefox.
Firefox is the easiest to install and use. It is also the fastest of all browser. It has good security and privacy. But not as strong as Tor Browser above. Both Tor Browser and Firefox could be installed on the same device and us at the same time.
Get Tor Browser at http://mozilla.org/firefox
Alternative 3 of 3. Ungoogled-Chromium browser with Chromium Web Store extension.
Chromium is the internet browser which powered Brave, Chrome, and other browsers. Ungoogled-Chromium is an alternative to all other Chromium based browser.
Your main benefit with Ungoogled-Chromium is that it is WITHOUT any string attached to Google Chrome. Because it does NOT depend on Google web services. In other words, when using Ungoogled-Chromium, Google is NOT able to collect your private data. So you get a stronger privacy.
Introduction video of 2 minutes about Ungoogled-Chromium and the Chromium Web Store extension at https://streamable.com/655nn
Chromium Web Store allows you to get for free ALL Chrome Web Store extension WITHOUT a Google Account
Download and Install Ungoogled-Chromium

Optional Chromium Web Store at https://github.com/NeverDecaf/chromium-web-store#chromium-web-store
My favorite alternative to Google search is https://metager.org
Your Benefits With Metager:
• Libre Source (Open Source). If you are not familiar with "Libre Source", it means this software has both stronger security & stronger privacy. Because its code is publicly available for review and contributions on GitLab at https://gitlab.metager.de/open-source/MetaGer • Attractive GNU General Public version 3 & MIT licenses. This means the software code is owned and supported by a friendly not-for-profit community. Instead of a for-profit corporation. • MetaGer protects against censorship by combining the results of multiple search engines • Algorithms are transparent and available for everyone to read • Run by a Nonprofit Organization • Powered by 100% renewable energy • Optional, dark theme

Two things:
One: Interstate 15 is way too twisty and hilly to even thing about going super fast with the exception of the final few miles of northbound interstate in California and the first 30 or so in Nevada.
Two: There is that number again.
I use Result Hunter,
you know, hunters self destructive behaviour is indicative of abuse he suffered as a child. I wonder if biden did unspeakable things to him...
how bout qwant.com, anyone?
DDG censors results too now
Really? can you give me an example???

Ask every Normie you know.
The only reason people started using Google instead of other search engines was because they never fixed search results.
Now it's a monopoly and ain't worth shit.
There are plenty of others out there - Freespoke, Lukol, Swisscows, MetaGer, Giburu, Yandex, Brave, Disconnect, Luxxle, Qwant, Wolfram Alpha...I just went ahead and made a search folder and have all of them bookmarked. Bing is in there too, but it's gotten weird. Each has advantages and disadvantages. I find that if I am searching a particular topic, I will compare results and draw conclusions as to veracity.
Although other search engines may be better for political info, the others generally suck when it comes to searching most other things.
