I lived this exact same experience. Neighbor cut the power as soon as the clock struck midnight. Kind of funny that there are multiple people in here with the same story. What makes me laugh thinking back to it was all the parents started freaking out and all the kids were cool as a cucumber. We just looked around at each other like…. Let’s go!!!! It kind of shows that all the adults were fully through their government brainwashing program and we were still too green to be scared of fake habbenings.

I put in a new garden this spring. Planted all types of veggies so I could learn how to grow crops. Put up an 8' tall fence, too. My garden was doing well, heck, I got some potatoes, onions, one cantalope and one water melon. The corn and green beans were coming on. But one night a gang of deer broke through the fence and marched on my beds like a drunk Russian army on Stalin's birthday. I was pissed because the corn had been chewed down to the ground and the beans were wiped out. But to make good from bad, I know that I have nice deer around my area to get when I become hungry. 5.56
We got deer, the guy doing the community garden went way overboard on the fencing..............that's really the way to go

My wife is a pack rat. Freezer is packed with no free space. Little generator will keep it cold. 10 days would be easy. We might run out of some items, but a little hardship would be a healthy thing.
We have a full fridge, freezer and pantry. We cherry pick every week thru the adds stocking up on everything we use or can barter. Saving minimum 50% every time. One week it is meat, the next it is canned vegetables, next paper products.
After the shit is over and money/economy goes back to a resource based one it would but from regular people having money that would be worth a lot more than they used to relative to the new reality based values on things.
(more regular people buying power stimulates economy, less buying power for regular people however, with that we already know what will happen...)
Good chance that this is a part of the plan as regular people finding only 10-20% of the money in their accounts relative to before the close down would see cities burn, now readjusting the accounts of banks, business and finance to reflect the new resource worth of assets, now that is very likely.....
Someone has hinted at things going back to 50's60's level cost........which would be doable if they tweaked corporate accounts to reflect the new economic reality(likely what the banks shutting down would be for), doing that to regular people however would cause civil wars, parliament's being burned down, politicians and bankers lynched in streets and society doing shit that would take decades to recover from, if at all....
