One of the top comments explains how their rules likely will usurp the laws.

https://twitter.com/holonabove/status/1756087972510773372

DNC can switch at convention, bypassing state laws, using 2018 rule change listed below...

"Under Article 2 of The Bylaws of the Democratic Party, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) has the responsibility to fill vacancies in presidential and vice presidential nominations between national conventions.[3]

In the event of a vacancy on the national ticket, the chairperson would call a special meeting. Under Article 2 § 8(d), questions before the DNC, with some exceptions otherwise outlined in the charter and bylaws, are determined by a majority vote of the DNC members who are present and voting by proxy. The bylaws also state that voting to fill a vacancy on the national ticket must proceed in accordance with procedural rules adopted by the Rules and Bylaws Committee and approved by the DNC.[3]" ballotpedia.org/State_laws_and…

States cannot change election laws last minute, unless there is an emergency, like Covid?

Tell that to Pennsylvania where laws were changed mid stride to allow ballot shenanigans.

Laws they don't need no stinking laws. In Georgia they just used a consent agreement to circumvent laws.

Pretty sure the Dem Convention can throw in a candidate at the last minute and since the Dem voters there are their representatives, they will select someone other than Xiden. I may be wrong but the President elect can choose his VP and later withdraw and leave the VP as the viable candidate. Laws never meant anything to Dems or they wouldn't have committed treason with all the fake ballots!

There are provisions for emergencies?? I would think that they could postpone or delay an election due to some emergency but throwing out existing laws would be problematic. However, they will try. Put Jack Smith on it.

"Every single state has their own election laws that REQUIRE a candidate to have filed, paid the fees, and aquired the necessary signatures (sometimes as many as several thousand from EVERY voting district in that state) before they can run as a presidential candidate in that state. There's only 11 states and DC left whose filing dates haven't already passed. Half of those remaining 11 state's final filing dates are today, February 9th, 2024."

This is wrong. Here's how it will go. Biden has a meltdown; all the delegates are free to go to whom ever they want. But the super delegates will coalesce around one candidate.

The convention picks there new standard bearer. This new candidate will pay all general election fees.

This has been the plan all along.

I did not know this. It seems pretty rigid. Dems have been running pretty loose with the law lately. I hope it bites them in the ass, hard.

Not true, they would swap via convention rules. Still is problematic because it robs people of choice still

▲ 4 ▼
– dbsupernova 4 points 2 years ago +4 / -0

Yeah Biden can resign after the convention and the DNC has the sole authority to replace him on the ballot. I assume that would bypass the primary and state filing and fee requirements, but who knows.

Though a new 2022 rule is almost certainly set up to allow Biden to step aside without the need for a JFK approach.

The Dems have to wait for their DNC convention to give old Joe the boot. The thing is, not just Newsome will be interested in taking on the role of the Dem POTUS candidate for 2024. Whitless, Pocahontas, Butt-plug, etc. will all want to be considered as well. The Democrat party needs to take responsibility for such an election blunder. It would not have taken much strong arming to force Biden to not run for a second term and allow a vigorous Dem primary with interested contenders to take place.

What I have found so far is the dates and requirements for the primaries. The question I have is: can one skip the primaries and be nominated at the convention and still be on the ballot? Independents can file May to August depending on the state. I think this merits more research.

They can do whatever they want at the DNC Convention. Hell, they can't do whatever they want with elections now unchallenged as it is! Nothing has been changed to rectify the fraud and now that there are millions of Juan's and Juanita's living in states with no voter ID, they'll pull even more "votes".

States don't have to change the laws, the Delegates can vote for whomever they want. Republican rules bind them to the first Ballot, but there could be a situation where none of the candidates have the majority. The second round they can vote for anyone, whether they ran in the primary or not. I don't assume the dems have the same rules, but if they do they have super delegates that have more votes than the rest and can decide against the will of the partys electorate.

Trump can use the state's own statutes against them and sue to stop them with a court injunction. *How did this work out in 2020 when states illegally added extra days to count votes, or illegally change other rules after election day? *

State election laws are pretty well set in stone if not changed on time. Unless those "replacement candidates" filed discretely long ago, the deadline to file has already passed in 39 states.

The demorats aren't planing on replacing Biden the candidate, the are planing to replace Biden by way of the convention process.

Most likely the way it would work out is Biden goes through the nominating process (wins all the primaries.) This keeps the sleeper out of public view for maximum time.

Biden bows out either do to medical reasons, or he get Arkancided. Then at the rigged convention, another candidate like Newson, or M. Obama, or even H. Clinton are voted on, receive the most delegates, and become the democratic candidate. All without having received a single vote.

Idk why they don't just put Biden in the WH basement and run his campaign, and the country, from there, using Zoom calls and pre-recorded messages that are edited to include just actual English words. Worked 4 years ago. He's the perfect puppet.
