Ok, here’s the hint - google drive. I’m a recently retired high school science teacher. When schools closed in March of 2020 we HAD to use google classroom and google drive for everything. When I first set up google classroom, I saw “lurker accounts” in with my students in real time. They did not show up on my classroom list of students, they should have. The students had to have a school email and I had to give the kids the passcode for each google classroom (7 class periods each day equals 7 passcodes, setup 1 time, I’m not issuing a new code each day, just once). I could see the lurkers in the comments section, so I blocked comments. So where did the unlisted lurkers come from? Google. FYI, when I retired, I couldn’t delete my account because it was owned by the school. Guess what, they got all of MY work, notes, videos, handouts, projects, all of it. TLDR don’t use google
To be fair, when any employee leaves my company all of their work, notes, email, etc. is archived, I paid for it, it's my work to be honest. They can delete their entire email, I can just hit a button and get it all back. I can see their whole internet history, any email htey ever got, any chat they made while on the company computer or if they have company email logged into their phone, I can literally see anything they do on their phone. All the porn, all the searches, all the chats.
If you're in google for work, your boss sees literally everything that you do online even if it is not on a work computer.
That’s understandable. The work that I created on google forms because I had to was not something that I could download, I could share those forms with a personal email but at a click of a button they get disappeared and then used by other teachers later. Ah well. Not my circus, not my clowns anymore. 😁
🙋♀️ So if I log into my company site for email/time card, but then log back out - using Brave, while also using a VPN, am I at risk for my phone being hacked by my company?
Yes, 100% at risk, but they would have to be actively trying to get access, so probably not.
robert epstein keeps warning us about the malevolence of Google's products etc
Oh wow. Freaking take the kids out of school. Everyone please.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
That’s crazy. The schools actions, namely the principal, shows guilt imo. I mean if this was truly an odd thing I woulda been as concerned as the parent. But instead they ban her? That’s messed up. Like her, I would be posting that everywhere in that district. Also I would like to check other school laptops children use. Like file/folder names, etc. Hopefully she’s not done. Continue on with that situation girl.
Spying on kids and their families is part of the terms of use for Google Classroom, and the school knows they could be in a lot of trouble for requiring the kids to use spyware.
They know and guilty of something.
And she KEPT THE KID IN THAT SCHOOL
Yeah. I don't get it.
Ridiculous why she even took the laptop back. Norms will never learn. When you have evidence, DON'T GIVE IT UP. Take it straight to an attorney.
Bingo! A forensic audit of the device would have showed its audio and video devices were REMOTELY switched on and by what IP address. My guess the IP would go right back to the school and probably the pedo principle.
As noted in a comment earlier - the dumber these people are, the more obvious it is what they’re doing and the easier it is for us to fight them.
It’s a blessing in an odd way.
Honk.
Exactly
Who knows. She may have called police. Assisting in getting the goods on them. She's certainly outing them. I'd put the sting on them, if it were me my child was too little to understand and tell their friends.
LOL. People are shall we say, "STUPID."
This is stupid your first move should have been the cops
Agree, a child is involved so notify the local sheriff because Sheriffs are the only law enforcement officials in the state of Maryland who answer directly to the people.
She mentions the SRO, which probably stands for school resource officer. In my area the SRO is a sheriff's deputy. That might be why the school refused to give her the SRO's contact info.
Spying on kids and their families is part of the terms of use for Google Classroom, so I don't think that the sheriff can do anything since the parents agreed to the usage terms.
Did they, though? Court cases on phone agreements and some software agreements have ruled they are too long and complex for an average person to get through on a reasonable amount of time and that they are written in legalese that the average person won't fully comprehend.
I am willing to bet that most sheriffs will say that whether the terms and conditions apply in their particular case is a civil court issue, not a criminal issue. I suspect that most sheriffs will not want to get involved because of Google's powerful allies.
Good indication that a new sheriff is needed.
Terms & Conditions cannot override your rights (i.e. your right to privacy) - especially when everyone who might be spied upon would have to agree to that policy as well.
Spying is a criminal matter. By tricking people into agreeing to be spied upon, it because a civil matter as to whether it was a lawful agreement, and thus the law enforcement agencies won'r get involved.
Mine would be IT first.
Back when Covid started and Google Classroom was foisted on us, a parent read the terms and conditions and it does say that Google can access everything on the devices it is installed upon and continuously record, even when not in use. That parent's discovery had gone viral, and I thought most parents were aware of it.
Wow...but of course we know our phones, tv's, alexa, computers, cars etc. have already been doing the same thing...since the Patriot Act legally and probably illegally before that. There is just no end to external control/monitoring and internal control/monitoring through the vaccine bioweapons...Big Brother is alive and well...
Unless The Patriot Act supersedes The Constitution and The Bill of Rights, it's illegal.
Getting the courts to enforce that is an entirely different matter.
You are correct...much legislation is illegal...it is then up to us to challenge it in our corrupt court system...but unfortunately it is deemed legal until proven illegal...we are between a rock and a hard place...
Plus the court system is totally rigged by the powerful. Some of the rulings are so blatantly corrupt that it is jaw dropping.
I would get rid of all electronics if I could. This is just so ridiculous with what they are doing to kids.
this is the new version of the Brown Shirts. this way they don't need your neighbors turning you in, they have it all first hand.
And the rest of the truth is that likely NONE of us are innocent - even in the present, nevermind the past.
Oh, but these Pharisees will certainly pretend they are!
Say no. Take the damn kids out of school.
Teaching Creepy 101.
I am thinking teaching pedos 101
“DipShits.”
No kids should be corrupt by school.
A tad unrelated to school spying but something to think of...those customer cards at your local grocery stores? They sell those to health and life insurance companies. Car manufactures sell your driving habits to your car insurance company and it's tied to your name.
I was reading somewhere on .win where a guy loaded his new Toyota to his son. His son connected his phone to the vehicle. The next day, his insurance company contacted him saying they noticed someone else driving the vehicle who isn't on the policy. He said he wasn't necessary to add his son as it was a one-time situation and the insurance company dropped him.
Buy old cars or don't connect anything. I have been trying to find old trucks. :(
We're recorded and spied on every device we own.

Oh yes.
Multiply this by every kid in every classroom in every primary, secondary school in the US giving out laptops… thank you “W” and your Patriot Act
Damn.
Yes. Heard about it.
This REALLY pisses me off. Home school, folks, home school. Don't put up with this bullshit at all.
I homeschool. I have a kid with a personality that is conducive to homeschooling and we have a living environment conducive to homeschooling.
Not every kid is a homeschool candidate for one reason or another. We really, desperately need to re-think how we educate so that it works for all kids.
Been saying that.
SUE for invasion of privacy and anything else you can get. Also contact your Sheriff
Spying on kids and their families is part of the terms of use for Google Classroom. I don't think that the sheriff or statutory law system can do anything since the parents agreed to the usage terms.

Southpark is brilliant!
I would do that if it's me.
Stop putting kids in government prison all day. You wanted kids, fucking raise them you morons!
That was really judgmental and kind of nasty.

You said it best.
School issued laptop?
Our school didn't give out laptops during covid, we were required to install Google Classroom (and its spyware) on our personal devices... and the terms and conditions were to access ALL information on the device.
Edit to add: BTW, as a result of all the covid BS, we homeschool now.
Yes.
Her first problem was taking it to the school.
I’ve done all her own research and had somebody else looked at the device, and then presented with actual evidence besides only one video.
Oh yes, I got you. I would take it to an IT shop first.
don't forget the story from at least 10 years ago, a school got in BIG trouble because they issued laptops to students but equipped them with RATs. Remote Access Tools. Basically a legal, purchased and "official" piece of malware that is undetectable and gives full and complete access to the laptop at any time from any where. (you can buy them legally but hackers use or make them all the time for nefarious purposes)
Including the webcams.
They were taking pics using the laptop webcams at a periodic interval and keeping them on the school's server.
Of underage students. Who kept the laptops, open, in their bedrooms when they were at home at night.
Yeah they got shut down real quick.
Cover yer webcams people. The light doesn't necessarily have to be on for it to be working.
I would cover mine with bandage. Now, if I have kids, they won't be in public school.
Mom doesn't know how computers work and is blaming it on spying. Computers don't "glitch as if someone is listening". That is nonsense. She also fails to mention that her kid was using Amira, which is an apo that records your voice for feedback purposes. Here's my take. The app glitched and didn't shut off in the background. Because it was still running, it refused to let the laptop hibernate.
The computers they have are Chromebooks, so everything is stored on Google drive.
You could be right. I think her mistake was bringing it to the school. I would have taken it to my IT person and have it all check out before bringing it back to school. That way the evidence will be extracted.
If I had a school-age child, he or she would NEVER set foot in the marxist-pedophile-run public fool system. They would not have iPads or laptops in their possession either. That's a shameful way to "teach" anyone, not to mention the spying that they continue to do.
You and I the same.
For certain!
This guy has good advice

I don't have kids in school, but if I do, they won't be in public school and neither will I take one of their laptops, but thanks for the info.
Want to make it real fun? File a Police report that they're creating child pornography by recording children changing in their rooms using the laptops. Weaponize the government against itself.
Amen to that.
