How do explain the Bible mentioning Jew, Jews 299 times in Old and New Testament. The earliest example is found in 2 Kings 16:6

The Jews, not the Israelites. Two different nations. People have fallen for the "Jews are Israelites" for about 5200 yrs now. Israelites are supposedly "God's Chosen People," or "People of God, the Highest." Jews are "followers of Judah." Jesus was a Jew in name only because of the city-state he was born in. It's been so conflated and purposely confused over 5700 yrs that one could easily forget that while Jesus was born a Jew, a citizen of Judea, he was not a practicing Jew in the eyes of the High Rabbis. In this aspect, Jesus was the first Christian.
He was a descendant of David, who was a descendant of Judah, which genealogically would make him a Jew, if “Jew” refers to “descendants of Judah, and presently more generally of the other tribes as well”.
For a long time following his ministry, his followers were considered a sect of Judaism (or whatever it may have been called at the time). They were originally referred to as “followers of The Way”.
Jesus often went to the synagogues, attended the feasts, and followed the written Torah that was given to Moses. The rabbis that found him to not be practicing Torah were referring to “traditions” or the practices of the oral Torah and rulings. He chastised them for making the requirements of being observant too heavy to keep.
Judeans are not necessarily Jews either, that's how muddled it is now.

Most of the "Jews" that Jesus & His Apostles opposed were actually Edomite Jews. They were descendants of Esau not Jacob. If you dig into history a bit you will learn that they had "converted" to Judaism. It was more of a forced conversion. They could say that they have "Abraham as their father" but they couldn't say they had Jacob as their father.
