There's a thing called "nominative determinism" that basically says we become interested in things that we're linked to by name. Kind of like how Usain Bolt became an Olympic sprinter. Or people with the last name Baker becoming a baker.
I could see how that's plausible. I might even lean towards believing it if there was some evidence supporting it other than a photograph of a typed piece of paper posted by some random, anonymous person and Musk's dad rambling on about it.
And, you know, how Elon's great-grandfather is also named Elon. 🤷♀️ John Elon Haldeman is the father of Joshua N. Haldeman who is the father of Maye Musk, who is Elon's mom.

It was my understanding that Elon Musk WAS Wernher von Braun's son.... Did I miss something?
Apparently Elon's father knew someone who read those stories to him and he always liked the name "Elon."

My husband has a deep love for Space and has all of the collectable Collier's Magazines as well as others. You two would be great friends. Would you believe I called Disney Network Programming 20 years ago and convinced them to run Von Braun's Man in Space again because my husband remembered seeing the rerun as a child and they did!! I agree with you about Musk picking up the baton!
