This thought popped into my head about a day or two ago and just can't get it out of my head. Trump is demolishing and renovating the East Wing to be a ballroom.
Per a chat GPT summary of wikipedia (take that for what you will) The East Wing of the White House historically functions as the offices for the First Lady and her staff, the Visitor Entrance for public tours of the White House, and the Social Office (which handles invitations, events, etc.).
So for 8 years, Michelle Obama would have primarily used the East Wing, and for 4 years between Trump's presidencies, Jill Biden as well.
What if the renovation is just the excuse to get rid of it and potentially 'cleanse' it from whatever misdeeds these people would have done?
I know the East Wing has been renovated many times over the decades,... but like I said, this was just a random thought that has stuck with me.

Trump mentioned something when addressing the east wing ballroom question during his press gaggle yesterday (or ay before). He mentioned that almost nothing of the original East Wing remains today and it has been modified a lot even since 1940s. He mentioned some names which I didnt catch clearly. This was the first time I heard about this, so definitely more to this story.

I have similar thoughts, but of a completely real world type. Listening devices and other surveillance equipment are easily hidden within buildings. Demolishing the structure might be the only way to know that you haven't been eavesdropped.

I had the same thought BUT I listen to “My Lunchbreak” and he says many old buildings have more to them then we see like buildings below. We do know there are tunnels beneath the Whitehouse so they maybe they are destroying them or exposing them. There’s definitely more to this then we know!
