More people need to look up pictures of Iran in the 1960s and 1970s.
You’d be forgiven for thinking they show pictures of the US in the 1960s and 70s. And that should send a chill down everyone’s spine how quickly things can change.
While I don’t entirely disagree, I also don’t think this is what Trump is quite saying exactly.
“This never happens with Democrats”. His focus seems mostly to be pointing out that one side is consistently and habitually full of people doing “the fair thing” while the other side is consistently a rubber stamp.
While I’m sure he would love to have the rubber stamp like they do as a tool to clean up the filth, he also would probably love to see a two party system that actually plays fairly, as most of us would.
During any other time and any other event, 5 million would be seen as a huge win. The only thing that makes it seem like a loss is the comparison to the Super Bowl itself.
Which is a ridiculous comparison. The idea that people had to put actual effort into choosing to move away from the game they were watching, at a specific time, to instead watch an alternative to it, and then switch back once it finished, is a fair amount to ask of viewers to begin with.
Viewership was not a problem. The real problem was a show that was decent but tonally off. A show that was likely to be very different and more diverse until multiple artists dropped it due to leftist pressure and bullying, and then shifted tonally to something it probably shouldn’t have (slower or more introspective country).
I think, like you said, it was a good first effort. The test is if they learn from it and improve.
Ideally, I’d love to see them try again with a couple of different events, not opposite any other big event, with just a more diverse and upbeat sound that builds a reputation of TPUSA concerts as a source of “what music used to be like in America”, and not as just a counter programming country music thing.
And I hope they do just that.
Given the increasingly white look of these protests, it’s becoming painfully obvious that much of the illegal immigration was made of people promised paychecks to cause chaos.
And now that they’re deported, they’ve had to resort to hiring the Karens… quite literally.
Good advice. I would further say, treat the things with which you agree or like, with the same level of scrutiny and care. The left AND much of the right wing establishment know no bounds. They WILL use false information they hope we will repeat in order to discredit us. They will sew false divisions, and false hatred from within. Don’t fall for it.
And again, that goes for the right as well. We still have a lot of Mitt Romneys and Liz Cheneys out there.
As an aside, I have to say - Rush Limbaugh called all of this so long ago, when he said that the overwhelming majority of the Tweets against him on Twitter (long before Musk) came from about a dozen or less actual people. I knew he was right (99.8% of the time, he said!) but it’s only grown to be more true by the day.
Good. Keep going. Make it louder, everywhere.
More people need to wake tf up, and they will not do so until they are inconvenienced or disturbed to the point of taking action, and then witness the gaslighting and victim blaming of their own party first hand.
More!
He also says there were multiple safety violations, but doesn’t mention the distribution of the violations across the daycare centers, nor does he mention under what circumstances the inspections were performed.
Were all the violations found evenly across all of the centers, or in just one or two of them?
Were the inspections done during business hours where kids would even be present?
And why does the existence of a safety inspection, which doesn’t even have the grounds or scope to investigate fraud, have ANY relevance to the proof of existence of fraud or lack thereof?
That would be like saying “the food inspectors found a violation in how garbage was taken out, therefore the owner must not be lying on his taxes”. That’s not even the purview of the inspection.
Yeah, this actually isn’t that surprising to anyone who’s followed her for a while. Even going back to her earlier Young Money days with Lil Wayne (who’s also based af), she’s always been a free thinker - with some minor bumps along the way (as we all have).
The only surprising part to me is just how open and direct she is about it now, even though I suspected she was MAGA for a while.
I may be biased as an anime and J-pop weeb, but I think Japan’s PM, their country’s pushback against US financial institutions like Visa, and their people’s increasingly vocal opposition to their culture and clean streets being demolished by foreigners, is all going to make Japan more important to the plan than anyone realizes.
Scripted is too strong of a word for this, IMO.
I can’t say myself to what degree these games are or are not rigged, and I wouldn’t be surprised if upsets do happen regardless.
But I will say, almost every big game seems to have one or more really bad ref calls that leaves everyone scratching their heads.
And, like most conspiracy theories, it suddenly makes sense why that happens so frequently as soon as you allow yourself to entertain the conspiracy theory that the refs aren’t actually there to ensure fairness.
This is, at a bare minimum, exactly the kind of exchange you would fabricate if you collaborated with at least one other person, and wanted to insulate and protect the other person or people before turning yourself in.
Which isn’t to say it’s not potentially much deeper than that, but rather at a minimum this reads like cover for the boyfriend.
This isn’t just a normal political battle or culture war battle. This isn’t just about short term legal policies. Perhaps it even was at one point, but it’s not anymore.
This is a spiritual battle. This is a good vs evil battle.
I’ve never felt it so strongly before in my life, but here it is. Charlie Kirk’s death and the ensuing celebrations have brought pure evil to light on a large scale. It’s also bringing out good in a scale I’ve not seen before.
The spiritual battle is emerging, and it goes so far beyond short term human beliefs around health care or taxes (though those always play a role).
God will win. But the real battle we have to steel ourselves for is just now beginning.
Thank you for this.
It’s been such an overwhelming week, I feel both encouraged by those who’ve come together but also incredibly saddened and fearful of just how many people want the worst for us with zero remorse and zero nuance or empathy.
I’m still organizing and reading thoughts on this in general, but there’s one aspect I feel strongly about:
If someone meets BOTH of the following criteria:
- Is a nurse, doctor, armed force of some kind, or otherwise closely responsible for the life and safety of others
- Says something indicating they encourage the killing of people like Kirk, praise those who kill people like Kirk, or otherwise advocate for the death of people like Kirk
If someone meets both of those, I think it’s your moral obligation to report it, just as you would any malpractice or corruption.
The other question is how do you determine whether point 2 applies.
In many cases, it’s obvious. Something like “Good riddance, he had it coming” or “the world is a better place now” is an obvious checkmark.
Something like “I didn’t agree when he said empathy is a weakness, but he didn’t deserve this”, despite having an obvious lie or misinterpretation in the statement, does not check box 2.
But a lot of posts will fall in between. Use your judgement, and come at it from multiple angles like “if I replaced Kirk’s name with a leftist icon like George Floyd and saw someone say this on GAW, how would I feel?”
Or “how much do I fear this person would attempt to harm a loved one if under the care of this person, and this person knew my loved one was conservative?”
As for the rest, I think it’s a debate well worth having. Ultimately we need to make sure we’re not denying people a peaceful voice, driving the more reasonable of them further towards extremism, and we need to be aware of how it will affect the world we want for us and our loved ones.
Kudos to whoever’s doing this, excellent work. This is the kind of exposure and accountability they need for their hatred.
Worth mentioning, this MUST be done peacefully, of course. Any form of violence against anyone on this list will only help THEM, and that’s not what Charlie Kirk or his movement was about.
Stay vigilant, and protect the physical safety of everyone around you, especially those you disagree with. I fear false flags are likely next.
As someone who’s been critical of Tim Cook’s leadership compared to Jobs, I find this take (and specifically the comparison to Jobs) really fascinating.
