Yeah, my father and my elder brother. That was a nasty wake up call, but it taught me a great deal and it was a valuable life lesson.
Thank God you figured it out. Being a target of that shit is painful and confusing at a young age. But what a powerful revelation once you understand it. I disowned my oldest brother because of this and nothing is more empowering than taking control of one’s life. I see way too many people that prescribe to “family is everything” and put up with the evil bullshit. Screw that. When you have a family member treats strangers with the utmost respect yet treats loved ones like shit, then that person is a narcissist. Period.
