We been buying BRC since they started up in '16. Coffee club members since '18. They even sent us a cool BRC Challenge Coin last year to commemorate their longest-standing customers! I got a bad take on them last year over their Kyle Rittenhouse stand. But this crap now?? It's just too much. 9am Central tomorrow I'm calling in to cancel membership and ongoing order. Then I'm driving into town to my bank and paying them the $20 fee to make sure the BRC auto-pay is stopped on my account. Don't even trust them that far!! I'm DONE!

Call me OCD if you like, but I'm serious about my morning coffee and over the years have found that this is my sole way of making the stuff. Find you a coffee that you really like -- mine is a dark roast Sumatra whole bean, available from many different sources. Your mileage may vary, so find one you REALLY like. AND AVOID STARBUCKS, BRC, or any company that has ever uttered a word about politics.... they aren't paying attention to their main job of providing good coffee beans.
Using either the store grinder or a burr grinder at home, grind the coffee to a fine powder, just short of "Turkish"..... "Espresso" works for me, but again, your mileage may vary.

I put the ground coffee in the infuser up to where the mesh ends, fill the container with filtered water, and slooo-oooly allow the infuser to sink into position, screw the cap down, give it a few good shakes, and lay it on its side in the refrigerator door.
12 to 18 hours later you will have a thick-ish coffee concentrate. Pour about 1 inch into a cup and top off with filtered water. If you prefer weaker coffee use less, but my personal taste is strong enough to invade Poland all by itself... if I can see the bottom or sides of the cup, it's too weak. Your mileage may vary.
Heat that cup in a microwave for 2 minutes, just don't let it boil.
Voila! You will have the best cuppa you've ever had or your money back. Cold brewing brings out the coffee bean's natural sweetness and is about 70% less acidic than hot brewed coffee.
Bypass all the politically woke companies, and become a coffee snob like me. Cold brewing has ruined me for any other coffee in the wild. I'll drink a cuppa at a restaurant if I have to, but at home, cold brew is the only way.

ADDENDUM EDIT: Using the Espresso grind like I do will give you some "sludge" of microscopic sized particles that get through the mesh filter. Ignore it, it just shows you've got a strong coffee. Now I don't actually chew the sludge, but I'm sure some goes down my gullet... don't care, it's just a different form of caffeine.
Reminds me of Navy coffee. The sludge is the best part.
I do this during the summer months and in the cooler months make pour over coffee using a Chemex. Cheaper and WAAaaay better tasting than anything you can buy at a brick and mortar.
Also, I have been a BRC customer for a while and even continued the last few months after learning about Kyle and their donations. This was a true kick in the balls and I'm done now. Getting a shipment tomorrow and sending it back w a nice note.
That sounds REALLY good. Our son started making cold brew, and I thought it would suck because he's never been a coffee drinker so what would he know? I was blown away at how good it was. Almost sweet, but very strong, no bitterness atall.
I usually use heavy cream in coffee because it seems to bring out the flavor while cutting the bitterness. With cold brew you don't NEED to add anything. Impressive!

I'll repeat, your mileage may vary...but by doing it the way I described, it's the best coffee I've ever had. Pay attention to the grind I suggested and get a nice cold brewer. I tried a glass carafe on my first attempt, but it broke after a couple of months. Get the acrylic type, it's unbreakable.
I saw one setup that was little more than a brand new sock filled with grounds and tied at the top, sunk in a 2 gallon container in the fridge for a couple of days. Kind of amazed at not only how good the coffee was but how just about ANYTHING seems to work.
True... as a bit of a "coffee snob" I like Sumatra beans and occasionally a dark Costa Rica coffee.... but once when I had run out of my preferred coffee, I broke out a brick of Bustelo coffee from my survival stash... and DAMNED!! if that didn't make some decent coffee too! As coffees go, Bustelo is considered sort of an ordinary product from south of the border, and it's sole attractions are its low cost and bold strong flavor. But when cold brewed, Bustelo made a very decent coffee.
BTW, I had picked up about 20 vacuum-sealed bricks of Bustelo when I found it on sale at a place going out of business, so I think I paid like $1 / brick and put them in my emergency food stash. I figured, in a SHTF situation, I would not be able to find Sumatra or my other special roasts but could work with Bustelo. Who knew that one day I would start cold-brewing?
