A guy I went to school with is a deputy sheriff. A guy approached him the grocery store about buying meat from him. (I don’t agree with how he handled it) Deputy sheriff told the guy he was in law enforcement & he “could” arrest him. In my opinion that’s compliance or looking the other way. I get it, end of day off work, paperwork, arrest & they are back on the street. Doesn’t make it right!

It doesn’t cost anything for the people on government assistance using EBT to buy at the grocery store. The people buying were probably getting it for below store prices. I’m not sure but I don’t think you need ID to use EBT cards. The people could have stolen them from older people in the family. (Just guessing, older people get money stolen from family all the time.)

There are people, like seniors and the disabled, that can barely afford food and we are handing out money like this to people that more than likely shouldn't be here to begin with. People without dependents are lucky if they get anything out of EBT. I was helping a disabled person that was only getting about 800 dollars a month to live on. Food Stamps only gave her a whopping 19 dollars a month. This is criminal. Hers was not the first case like this that I saw. On the flipside, I dealt with illegals that had American children and were receiving thousands in benefits. If that was an accrued balance on an EBT card, it was because they had so much more in other benefits that they didn't need it. Either way, giving away that much in EBT is insane and an abuse.
There is no doubt in my mind that if this is being given to refugees or illegals it is because the Administration's policies are behind it. They are giving them plane and bus tickets, housing vouchers for hotel rooms, legal services, etc. WTF? The welcome mat is out and they continue to poor in unabated. There is also no transparency or accountability. Top-down, bottom-up, and inside-out progressive destruction of our country. God help us.

These EBT card holders are pushing two to three carts each. Then the lone Male pulls out a giant wad of cash and pays for his booze and tobacco separately. So they get everything free except the booze and smokes. Americans are getting worked and people who never, NEVER, contributed to our way of life are reaping the benefits you and your children will never have. Remember colleges have enrollment quotas and your children will never have a chance. Regardless of merit or aptitude. You are last and denied a bright future for your children.
I was at Wal-Mart once and a guy was shouting, " link! link!" at the cashier. Illinois link welfare card. All he had was two big bags of red grapes. Thinking he was going to make some wine. I normally avoid stores at the beginning of the month. The skit by Chris Rock talking about them singing welfare carols(it's the first of the month) is funny but sad and true.

With the covid increases under pandemic emergency status, the average family is receiving between 500 and 900 dollars a month. At least under this status, a person with no dependents, or a senior on SS alone of about 500 dollars, have had their paltry benefits increased to a couple of hundred dollars a month. But, after the emergency status is removed, the senior will only get about 100 dollars, and the adult with no dependents about 40 dollars a month. I guess they can starve. Families will still receive on average about 450 to 850 dollars a month.
Need reform of the food stamps system. I thought the use of the cards was supposed to stop the fraud and abuse with counterfeited food stamps. Still an awful system ....No instruction on nutrition or how to shop sales to feed a family.who the hell thinks 40 for a month is enough to feed a disabled person or elderly person.
I'm 60 on SSI raising my 13 year old daughter by myself... (her mom passed away in 2015) We get $230 per month EBT... During some months not all, they'll add a couple hundred more for/because of the plandemic... u/saltyarmyanon is correct however... Without having custody of my daughter, I was getting about $43 per month...

A woman in the line in front of me purchased a LOADED cart full of groceries while I had a few items. Took forever waiting. She goes to pay and I overhear about her EBT being accepted and a joyous “oh good!”

If they can allow that much money to accumulate on an EBT card, that is a pretty good indication they sure as hell don't need the money. Give it to the disabled and seniors that can't afford to buy food and who generally don't get crap from EBT because they have no dependents.
No it’s only allowed to accumulate for like60 days maybe 90 then it goes back to the system, but what I noticed they replaced white Americans in the snap office with Hispano so they are probably only monitoring the white names on the accounts. O.o
I have heard that it can accumulate for up to a year. So, I don't really know. I would have to check. But, even if it is only allowed to accumulate for 3 months, that if even worse if there is a balance of 7K dollars because that would be far and above what a normal monthly allotment should be - even with the bump up because of covid.
As far as the demographic change in positions that involve interaction with the public, especially government welfare type offices and health care, it has been transitioning over the years to almost all bilingual. White non-Spanish speaking Americans have slowly been pushed out of these positions in favor of those that are bilingual because the majority of patients/consumers that utilize these services are non-English speaking - a large number of them are illegal. It is their children, born here in the States, that have been filling many of these jobs over the years. They are Americans and have just as much right to work as any other American. But, their bilingual abilities have given them an edge over others with the same qualifications. I am not blaming them. They did not set up this messed up situation - but, they most certainly have benefited from it.
Having worked in health care, I have seen this transition of front and back office personnel change to the point where English only is the minority. I have had to tell young people considering careers in health care that if they are going to survive in this field, they will have to learn Spanish. That is the sad reality of the state we are in - like it or not. This has been an invasion and for those of us that live in the Southwest, it is looking more and more like a foreign country every day and at times it is surreal.

I'm a disabled vet, no dependants. applied (and was accepted for) EBT. They gave me about 12 a month for food, and less than a dollar in cash. after 3 months they shut me off and sent me a nasty letter about fraud because I had used the food benefits but hadn't found a way to use the $2 and change in the grocery store for cash, so obviously, I didn't need any assistance. My point that I was waiting for there to be enough money for me to spend it on something I needed fell on deaf ears and I withdrew from the program because it was way to much fucking work and hassle for less than 15 bucks.

And some just sell their card. The medicaid cards they used to get enabled them to sell the use of it. They would say they had no ID but still get service. A stop was put to that abuse when the hospital required a photo attached to your file and the hospital would take the pic. They'd decline service because the card wasn't theirs.

In fairness, there could be more to this receipt than what we are seeing. First it does depend on which state you are getting food stamps in. Since the cost of living is higher in California - I am using their guidelines. For a family of 8, you could get the max of $1504 a month in food stamps and an additional $188 per person after that. This family gross income is $ 58,058 or less per month There was an additional increase because of COVID which gave California families an additional $500 as well as another amount if your children were in school and on the free breakfast and lunch program $75 per child per month, which if 6 kids would be another $450. So for a month in California during the pandemic, it was $2,454 a month maximum. Food stamps are figured based on Income less Rent, utilities ( cable is a luxury and not included). If you have ever look for housing in CA, it is ridiculous as a 3 bedroom on the very low end $3000 a month. Yes, they do not have to use each month in order to get the next months. However, at 11 months of not using, they will be taken off the program.
With that being said, are there people who are taking advantage of the program - ABSOLUTELY. But we should not judge without all the facts. Isn't that what Q tells us to question and look for the truth but to make sure you have all the information. Just my two cents and probably one of the reasons, I don't live in California and also haven't used this program.
This isn't unusual to be honest, for a family of four we were getting about 1k a month at one point we had about 3k on the card. This was due to all of the COVID "boosts" to the economy they gave to help people out. So 7k could be if they saved it over a period of time.
I get $44 per month. Got an extra $120 for covid. I spend it all an soon as it is available. I go to my daughter's house and cook dinner 5 nights a week. She buys all the food and pays me $100 per week to cook and clean the dishes. She's not a very good cook and hates to cook_likes easy fast convenience food. My grandkids love my cook from scratch food. So it works great for me. That $164 goes to build up my stash for when things go crazy. Plus the extra $100 a week really helps me out. My SS is less than $1000 per month.
It all depends on a person's state they live and situation. I am in Florida for two years I have been "unemployed" I own my own business but it's a very small market and I make less than 100$ a month. We were getting prepandemic 500$ a month and our food shopping was about that a month. But now a days it's closer to 700-800 a month with price increases and the fact my kids eat way more as they grow.

I work at social services. I can't confirm a 7,000 dollar ebt. But I have seen as high as 1,000-1,400 dollar ebt cards.
