Low fat is a scam.
Except for transfats.
Eat Butter and meat fat.
Been on KetoDiet since July 2013.
At first you count your calories and restrict it all and it’s boring, then you switch to LazyKeto / Alternate Dieting (18:6) and it’s better.
Lazy Keto means you don’t weight anything to ensure you remain below 25g carbs a day, you read the labels to ensure the food is not heavy in carbs and avoid taking much.
Then, there’s the next step: you become a creative cook and consider what food you miss… then recreate the recipes. I did muffins, lemon custard pie with meringue top, pizza… my Muminlaw even offered me a mini fryer to experiment… Turnip, butternut or avocado fries even positively surprised my guests.
I’m just at the junction of lazy keto and getting creative, like you talked about. It’s a daily adventure. I can’t express how happy I am with the results of a ketogenic diet. It isn’t really about the weight loss to me, but more about the inflammation and joint pain. It’s dramatically better.
Approaching 5 years carnivore. Wow that shit works. I feel better @40 than when I was a teenager or in my 20s.
This is easy without buying the expensive already packaged keto diet food.
Low fat adds more sugar to the product, making it the opposite of keto or Atkins which is basically the same.
Get off of sugary sweets and foods that turn into sugar once it hits the bloodstream. White potatoes and bread. Pasta too. IF... You are eating pasta do not eat the garlic bread with it. Double sugar whammy! IF... you're going to do a good workout don't be afraid of a sandwich with bread. No cookies, candy or cake.
For dessert when I'm losing a few gained pounds...i take a couple squares of 86% dark chocolate, eat it with a few raisins and almonds. The raisins sweeten it up like chocolate covered raisins or peanut M&Ms. Takes care of the chocolate factor and it's good for you.
The Keto diet is the only diet supported by science.
Keto for life baby! Has helped me tremendously
I followed Cole Robinson's Snake Diet (see Youtube), and it was easy fasting for 2-4 days while on electrolyte water (potassium and sodium), but as I became leaner, it became harder. You can see on his channel he has added a keto routine of 15% protein/85% fat. I have been on it a few weeks and lost 3.2 kg. Basically, I have 5 or 6 meals in a day, no closer than 2 hours apart, in which each meal is 50g/1.5oz of meat/fish/chicken and 30mL/2 tbs of coconut or olive oil. I have bought 5 310mL square glass containers with lids, and it is very easy to weigh it out and take to work. I add some cooked vegetable, pickles, or sauerkraut at times to give some flavor, and still get results because the carbs are minimal. Also, I add pepper, and a healthy sprinkling of salt (which helps to keep energy up during reduced calorie diets). Good luck!
EDIT: Here are Cole's channels. You may need a thick skin to hear him screaming "Hey Fatty"🤣😂

He has a passion for biohacking and he gets results for himself and his followers.
Make McDonald's Great Again!
Cole Robinson wasn't looking to Super Size himself. Rather, he used a fasting focused lifestyle combined with proactive eating to eat McDonald's everyday for a month and maintain excellent health. Find out how by watching The McSnake Diet Movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6umfRzbVDY
He gets full laboratory tests before and after 1 month of McDonald's meals.
Wife and I did keto about 4 years ago. Both lost 35 pounds. Only thing is, you HAVE to cook. I like you cook, and she likes to clean…perfect combo! Anywho, after about a year and a half of doing it and losing the weight, I’ve pretty much stayed the same by just watching what I eat….and almost no sugar. She has given in to sugar a lot and gained some back, but still eats tons of fruit and vegetables. My only advice is to get the keto shopping list, and simply eat what’s on there. The weight will fall off and you’ll be healthier.
I struggle with this one. Although I lift weights for strength and row for aerobics 5 days a week, and am in generally good health, I still have a stubborn 10 pounds I would like to lose. Think I may try incorporating this into my diet.
It's the sugars and carbs that will harm you (plus the transfats). I agree with u/Sadness here, low fat is a scam! Sugar free is as a scam as those sugar substitutes make things worse.
When reading the food labels check the amount of sugars. Remember 5 gram sugar = 1 teaspoon of free sugar! For cereal for example get the ones with the lowest sugars, or with a balanced fiber and sugar ratio (1:1 or more fiber).
Fats are needed
As an aside one of the ancient Chinese generals complained that the Mongols had better soldiers because they ate meat, were stronger, and could go on a campaign not eating much for longer, whereas the Chinese soldiers subsisted on rice and were at a physical disadvantage. (The Mongols eventually took over the throne and became the Yuan dynasty.)
For years I suffered what I thought was a bad gall bladder, so I did not touch anything with "high" cholesterol, had gall bladder attacks when I ate too much fatty meat, etc, poisoned myself with margarine. I followed someone named Hulda Clark and did a gall bladder cleanse, and wowser, the stones, the sludge, etc came out, passed a few that looked like good sized stones. I did this 2x a year, for 3 years, and then started feeling lousy, craved carbs. Slowly I got off gluten, saw an improvement, and then discovered the Atkins diet, which is basically a keto diet, started restricting carbs, began to eat meat, a lot of it, first steak cooked in butter was eaten after t he age of 50, learned about trans fats, began eating all the butter and good fatty meats, (grass raised), etc. No gall bladder issues, lost weight, feel great, at 72, my bad cholesterol went down as soon as I stopped the trans fats. It's been a long journey, but at 72, despite the arthritis from Lyme, I feel better than I did at 40. Go figure. If I fall into eating carbs or sugar, the inflammation and pain in my body increases terribly. Carbs are addictive, as is sugar, it is easier to stay away from them altogether, then to have some occasionally, because the occasional will set off the craving again. Wheat products were never meant for anyone whose people came from northern areas, our ancestors did not thrive on wheat, it did not grow where my people came from, wheat flour, etc, came from the middle east, the Euphrates valley, exported to the Mediterranean. We ate wild rices, game, fish, seaweeds, shellfish, rye, flax, oats, etc. Our bodies and blood type should dictate what is good for us. Yes, we are ominvores, and yes, that is not always a good thing. We can survive on anything, but life and health is more than survival.
Same with potatoes, which are from South America, they were a trash food given to the Irish by the Brits, so the Brits could steal the land and raise their beef for export, they took the land from them, gave them a plot for the potatos and allowed them a pig to raise for the winter. My ancestorrs were always "keto".
I love pooping and keto was like cancer for the colon.
It's great to get blood sugar under control but incorporate fruit and fiber as quickly as possible and get on a summer diet. Keto is for winter
Gotta control the type of fat. Grass fed dairy and beef is good. So is MCT oil, avocados, fruit oils like extra virgin olive oil and extra virgin avocado oil.
Full study pdf.
Its not a “medical publication” lol it’s just referenced at NIH because NIH keeps a database of the vast majority of scientific research and makes it easily searchable. Also, this is a meta-analysis, a study of studies, of the work of 14 different groups of researchers involving hundreds of subjects, the results of which speak against Big Pharma “medicine” by means of controlling one’s insulin sensitivity via simple dietary interventions.
Lol okay keep doing the opposite (indulging on carbs, sugars, etc.) in the meantime.
Lol it’s called carb/sugar addiction. You’re suffering withdrawals from it when you’re “not yourself”.
Read some Gary Taubes please.
